Our HelloTech technician, Mark Cook was extraordinary. He entered an unusual situation. He visited a post-stroke woman in a rehab facility to help her with phone issues. He stayed on the phone with me, all the way across the country, throughout. Together, the three of us solved some problems with her phone, taught her how to do some standard operations, assessed her ergonomic and other needs, and decided on accessories to order for her. Mark was patient, attentive, creative, warm, fun, and very savvy when it came to creative and appropriate solutions. My friend in the rehab insists that she will always work with Mark from now on. He was the lifesaver we needed! Cannot praise him highly enough. The only frustration I had with HelloTech was reaching a scheduling person by phone. Maybe I shouldn't have called on a Monday morning, but the on-hold messaging is maddening. They have to fix that. And, the constant pressure to purchase a membership is annoying. However, every human I spoke with and worked with was excellent. One more thing: The tech couldn't make it the first day and had to reschedule. Horrible experience. They sent a tech to hang photos that has no idea what he was doing. He hung a few photos. Completely misaligned. Variances of over 6 cm. This guy must have never hung anything before. Then he tried to hang floating shelves and was unable to and blamed it on "our builder building the house wrong." Canceling my membership because they clearly do not vet their techs anymore to make sure they know what they are doing. read more

Took me a while to come back and leave this review. Michael (the tech that came out), initially installed the mount upside down. I had no way of contacting him, so I had to call the main number for them to get a hold of him. He then came back out and fixed the issue, but there was still a problem and I brought it to his attention while he was there. The mount is one that can extend from the wall, so I showed him that whenever extended there's a tilt to one side. He told me that's why he hates those mounts because they mostly always do that. He left and I was tired of it always tilting, so I called the company I bought the mount from but also wanted to check something myself. I got my tools and went to the back of the TV, checking all the nuts to see if they were all tight, and of course two of them were not tightened all the way. I tightened them and problem fixed. Someone who is a professional came twice and both times couldn't do a simple job. He showed up in crocs and running shorts at that. read more

And I was still charged $129. He plugged my modem in and slapped a sticky back motion sensor on my wall and I was charged for him coming to my home. When the tech said he has the same issue with his TV we knew we were in trouble. He just hit some buttons on the remote - did not check or rule out anything. Big waste of time. I requested a service on a Sunday and was given an appointment time. 1 hr past the appointment time I received a cancelation and request to reschedule. I rescheduled for the next week. That appointment was also canceled. Then I finally had someone accept one of the numerous times I suggested. Luckily, he called me to confirm and then called me back asking if I canceled ( 30 min ahead of the appointment), I told him that I had not. while on the phone I got a notification that the appointment was canceled. He then rescheduled the appointment on his end. The tech that actually showed up was fantastic and if I knew I would have him again I would use them over and over again. Apparently, the app is shit. I have no idea if the 1st tech received a cancelation from me or not. I do not live in the town that I need the service so I had to travel 2 hours just for this appointment because the previous one was canceled last minute....actually after last minute. If they hadn't already charged me a membership fee, I would have never tried again. If all their tech were required to call to confirm, this wouldnt be that big of an issue. We hired HelloTech for the purpose of wall-mounting our TVs (one in living room and one in my office) and for installation of grab bars in our 2 1/2 baths, as I am disabled. The date of the work was March 28th, 2024. The tech's name was Dustin. We did not sign a contract but took out a membership with HelloTech. On June 24th, 2024, the TV and mount in the living room just fell off the wall (no studs were used; just sheetrock) and the wall was damaged and the TV was destroyed. On June 27th a second tech from HelloTech (Brandon) came to inspect the damages. HelloTech then issued a damage claim #1219331. Brandon wanted to do the right thing (repair everything) but HelloTech HQ would not let him. Supposedly the claim was to be paid in "7 to 10 days". We were not paid until August 19th, 2024 ($538.96). And this is when the real problem started. In trying to received the monies from PayPal, I mistakenly and quite accidentally REFUNDED to monies back to HelloTech on that very same day. Seeing my mistake, I immediately sent HelloTech (via PayPal) a request to resend the monies back to my PayPal account that same day. They would not and they wouldn't respond to my inquiries about it. Through many emails and phone calls, they still have not resent my money back to my PayPal account. And that is all I'm asking. I gave them until close of business today, 09/13/2024 to resend the money or I would file a complaint with everyone that I could. They ignored me, yet again. Briefly state what you would consider a reasonable resolution from the company Simply resend the $538.96 to my PayPal account that was mistakenly refunded to HelloTech.
