After agreeing to make a simple but profitable repair on my laptop for $129 on the Friday before a three-day weekend, Amin (the manager) called me on Tuesday of the next week to say they had not done the work because they found an almost invisible crack in the bottom cover of the laptop. He said they would not do the work unless they were allowed to replace the bottom cover. He said he had tried to call me on Friday, but my phone logs showed no call from Uni. I use this computer for my job. As per our agreement, I had bought the replacement parts and taken Friday off so they could do this work, and had pressing work to do the next week, so their failure to do as they had promised and their after-the-fact notification that they had not done it was a huge problem for me. The work in question required zero technical skills - replacing a keyboard with a broken spacebar, and a damaged but working power port - so I watched a Youtube video of the job, bought compressed air and heat sink compound at Radio Shack, and did it myself. The crack in the bottom cover was not a problem, and the computer works perfectly - I am writing this review using it. I knew Uni would make a good profit off this job - it would have taken a half hour for someone who knew what they were doing- but I figured taking it to them would save me time. I was wrong.
