I got a call from Neil whose father started the business 30 years ago. He apologized and asked for details. I told him I appreciated the call and would amend my review. He said that was necessary as that is the point of reviews and they messed up. In our conversation, I mentioned that ADT was not scheduled for another week when I am back in town. He asked if he could come over and speak with me about my services. He apologized, discussed my service with me and I chose to renew my agreement with Atronic. They came out today (10/13) to get me hooked back up and I had some requests that they accommodated. I appreciate a local company that takes pride in their work and is not too proud to prove themselves again and ask for your business. ___________________________ This review is more about the service than the product. I moved to KC three years ago and the home I bought had Atronic. I contacted them and continued the service. I wanted to do business with them since they are local and not go with someone like ADT. I switched to Google Fiber 9 months ago and got rid of my land line phone. My security system would not work without the land line. I called and there were some expensive wireless hook up charges and in addition, the monthly fee went up $10 a month. I asked to have the set-up waived since I was a current customer. They would not do it. I decided to cancel service since I never use it. 9 months later I decide I want to re-activate my service. I call them to arrange it and they no longer charge the set-up fee, but the increased monthly fee. Fine. I am told I will get a call with someone to arrange it. Three weeks later I have not heard from anyone. I call back and am told that a form was emailed to me and they were waiting to get it back....from three weeks ago. I never received it. They sent another and it went into my Junk folder, but I was watching for it this time. In those three weeks, I had a call from ADT and went through a quote process with them. It was a better deal, much better actually, and I said no because I wanted to keep it local. Atronic is now waiting on me to fill out a new form (never mind I was already a customer and they have one on file) and they will get me on a service call list once I return it. ADT offered to have a Service Technician out the next day if I would sign up with them. Hello, ADT! Where have you been all my life? If you want to give your money to a company that wants it, I would suggest looking elsewhere. There are other local options.

I contacted them to handle the matter and they stated they never received my e-mail and that I needed to send it again and they would not credit me back any of the paid amounts. When…read morethey arrived, the electrician said it was not a smoke decor wired to the security system, and he could not fix it. He did nothing more than look at it, then walked out. Came back few minutes later saying the charge was $125. ( You should know that Teague installed the wiring, smoke detectors and security system in the house when it was built.) After paying and thinking about what they charged me, I called the Teague office to discuss it. When I called, I was told the manager had just stepped out, but the receptionist said he would call me back when he came back. He never called back. If they came out and found a problem, and I decided not to have them repair it, I could see them charging me for the service call. But coming out, looking at it and telling me they could not work on it, and then charging me $125, I think is a poor business practice. They put the system in, so obviously they could work on it. And then not calling me back, another poor business practice. I will not call them again, they obviously have no concern for their customers, they only care about how much money they can get out of them. If you need an electrician, call elsewhere and get someone you can trust to do the work, not walk away with your money.

When you need a professional in the fire extinguisher business you'll be hard-pressed to find one more knowledgeable and helpful than Steve Doolittle. I needed one new extinguisher and he helped me select the right size and type. Fire extinguishers are like parachutes. It's critical that they work when needed. My experience with Simplex Grinnell was so positive I would never think of buying fire extinguishers anywhere else.

And a rough estimate was not provided before work had commenced, but only when the final bill was presented. I, as the customer, had no idea of even an estimate of the amount that I would be liable for at the end of service. 2) Outlets were left open and unsafe while he went to Home Depot to get new outlets and a switch. He was gone for over 1 hour on the clock for this errand 3) He was taking other calls and helping other technicians and doing other work while was on the clock for the work in my unit. He spent 15 minutes typing up the service order while still on the clock. Also, he was chatty, but the clock was running with such high rates, I would think there would be minimal engagement in communication. 4) He charged more than 3x the cost of the items that were installed in my unit. 5) I am a professional in the industry and regularly review pricing for professional electricians on major commercial construction. I understand what a reasonable rate is and Tann Electric refused to compromise on the bill or take any sort of responsibility.

Mark was very quick, clean, and thorough through the whole process. He lubricated every single part on both my doors not just the one that was broken. He adjusted the chain on one opener. Then he literally adjusted every single hinge until the door was rolling smooth as ever and very little noise!! Would highly recommend him! Even heard him give out a competitors name and number to contact for someone who called out of his service area. Could have easily said he doesn't work in that area and been done.

I received an advertisement from Direct Security Services offering a security system for our new home. Within the next few days I received four more advertisements from other companies offering the same service. Upon review of all the mailings I received, the one from Direct Security was more professional than all of the others. This company was also local. I called the name on the brochure and he came to our home that same day. The man was very professional and explained how they could secure our home without paying an exuberant amount. He also gave us a free smoke detector and a key fob. I thought I would have to wait a week or so to get this installed, but their representative said they could install this system the next day. That really surprised me. The technician arrived on time and sat down with me to explain what he would be installing. Upon his departure, we were relieved that our home is now secure. Three weeks after we installed our security system, our neighbors house was burglarized. Thankfully, there wasn't anyone home, but they lost a lot. I'm so thankful that we don't have to worry about that anymore. read more

I had gotten a referral from one of my friends in regards to this company. I am always a little bit spectacle when if comes to things especially since she received something in the mail from this company and choose to go with them. However I was very suprised I called in the morning the sales representative was very thorougher over the phone with me he went through all of my concerns and met me at my house later that evening. When he arrived I explained that I would be going out of town in two days and if he could get me installed we would go with his company. To my surprise he said they could be there the next day. The installer came out the next day got the installation done in about 2 hours and then spent about another 45 minutes going over everything with me because I am always the one that has a million questions. He even gave me his phone number and told me that I could call him anytime if I had concerns on how to operate my system. read more

I had ADT installed in my home 3 yrs ago through Direct Security (originally I also contacted ADT corporate, they quoted a higher price on equipment etc.) I checked out my local dealer who was able to give me a BETTER deal. **Recently I upgraded to Pulse ( some of my neighbors|friends have pulse and I really like the idea of monitoring my home from my iphone) I again contacted Direct Services, the owner provides reliable/ professional services. I added 2 additional features (an automatic door lock and thermostat control which both can be controlled by my iPhone. I'm Very happy I made the switch to Pulse monitoring. I've Recommend Direct Security Services to my friends/family, he's a local, reliable, friendly and professional businessman. read more

Buyer and Customer Beware!…read more Recently I noticed my app was not working to arm and disarm my alarm. After calling Rampart, they said "yes currently our services are offline". Then I asked if that meant we would not be covered by monitoring for fire or burglary. They said "yes, that's correct". I was completely flabbergasted. Three large issues for me: - They never notified their clients the monitoring service was offline. My first issue was at 9PM the night before I called. When I called Rampart around 9AM the next day, the guy on the phone said: "Oh yeah it's down, but it hasn't been down that long". To which I replied "yes it has, my home has been unprotected for 12+ hours". - After researching the app communications, I quickly was able to determine the IP address involved was from BOLIVIA. The IP was registered to "Bulgaria Sofiya Residence Control" - Why on planet Earth would I want my home secured through a server in Bolivia which is now down? That IP address was 212.73.143.204. - The monthly service fee they charge is much higher than the service we received. The monitoring service was the cheapest available, likely turning $20-25/mo in profit for adding absolutely zero value. They use a third-party service called "m2mservices" which is hosted on a server in Bolivia. https://m2mservices.com/ The device is the cheapest available and the service, being outside of the US, is most likely also the cheapest possible. After calling back, they had zero problems refunding our entire charge.. which is too bad... we were a customer for over eight years without a miss in payment. Stay away, the company doesn't care if your home is protected, or at least not enough to tell you about it.
