I now live on the north side and I was made aware of this location closer to home. I have ordered twice from here. The first time I ordered Uber Delivery and the price was changed to a dollar more because I asked for hot oil, which has always been free at the other locations. I've never been to a single restaurant besides McDonald's where they charge for a sauce. Most recently I ordered a pick up order which was the pad Thai lunch special and on the app it said that it was one dollar more for shrimp, three minutes later I am told that it was five dollar and fifty cents more for shrimp and they added it to my check without my approval. I immediately contacted the Restaurant and told them to cancel my order since that was not the price that appeared on the app and because I did not approve of the 5.50 price adjustment charge. The restaurant worker on the phone said that he had canceled it, but DID NOT. I called Uber Eats and they opened the case, but I never heard back from them or received any type of follow up. My credit card temporarily removed the charge, but it is now back on my account again. I am so frustrated as money does not grow on trees.

Surprisingly most restaurants were booked on this Sunday evening, but then again it is summer in Chicago. I've always been a big Sunda River North fan so thought it would be fun to check out her little sis in Fulton Market. I was driving in from the burb so appreciated the valet parking right out front. They weren't very busy on this Sunday. Our waitress and the rest of the staff were super friendly. They were out of a few things such as brown rice, which was no biggie, but they were super apologetic...even brought edname to our table to apologize for us having to eat white rice (which i prefer anyway). I began my meal with a lovely glass of sauvignon blanc. My friend and I split a few menu items: * Crispy rice: one of my favorites from the original sunda. Good, but not quite as good as I remember * yellowtail crudo: refreshing and healthy * Miso cod: winner of the meal Overall, it was a good meal, but I left wondering if Sunda wasn't quite as good as it used to be or if my taste has changed overtime. There's so many amazing restaurants in this area that i'm not sure I would go back, but if you want solid asian food in a cool vibe this works.

The locals don't like Tao for whatever reason. I thought everything was delicious! The presentation, ambience, all of it. Loved it. Now, we had a reservation. Even with the reservation, waited 1hr to be seated. Insane. There are no "walk-ins" for this place. They are booked solid. Another thing, they have the smallest tables known to man. Because they're trying to maximize the amount of guests they can host at a time, they have these little tiny tables that you can't fit all your drinks and your food on simultaneously. I like to spread out at dinner, and not feel cramped. You can literally pick food off of the guest next to you because you're so close to them, and your table is so tiny, your wine glass or your champagne glass is always on the verge of hitting the floor, because you can't fit your sushi on the table at the same time. That was crazy work. But even still, being here made me really excited. This place is nice, nice. I can't explain it. They have fake dragon flies on the ceiling lanterns, like, come on! Nice touch. This place is huge too. But even still, you have no space. They have a night club upstairs too! I mean come on. I booked the reservation late to go to the clubs on the 2bd floor after, but I was too tired. I will definitely be come back here anytime I'm in CHI. Loved it. I would not recommend if you have no patience, get angry when the waitress is too busy with too many tables to remember all your items, are not open to waiting 1hr to be seated after your reservation, and if you need space to stretch out when eating. Even with those cons, I enjoy it. If the wait time was so horrible, and the seating wasn't so tight. 10 stars.

We went to today for Father's Day, and the brunch experience left a lot to be desired. We weren't given utensils, and it took time to find a server to bring them to us and we weren't given knives (the brunch offered red meat dishes). We saw our server twice and the worst part was the Asian female server working ignored me twice when I was asking for the check and when I finally got her attention for the bill she never brought it. This experience left such a sour taste in my mouth. Tao Chicago puts the whole Tao brand to shame and I'll be telling both my schools community and international friends to avoid at all costs and stick with the Las Vegas and Los Angeles locations.

Man running front of house directed me to their printed menu and suggested I pick what I want and then ask about modifications. After sifting through their large menu, I landed on a few items I thought I'd ask about. Thankfully, he was very knowledgeable about each item and what would need to be changed about it to make it vegan. I ordered the Crispy Pad Thai with Veggies, Pad Cashew with Tofu, and the Vegetable Dumplings (which he said are made in house). All were really delicious and good size portions. The in-restaurant dining room wasn't very busy but there was a steady stream of delivery drivers picking up orders, during my 15-20 minutes there. It's a modest, fairly casual restaurant with not a lot of "bells and whistles". The menus are very informal printed copies of what's listed online. But my experience included really good food, a knowledgeable staff, and confirmation of a great local spot for solid take-out. Looking forward to trying more of the menu.
