I've been here for both lashes (like over a year ago) and recently a wax--both for Groupon services. Mercedes helped me both times. She did great on my lashes, and in hindsight I appreciate them even more (since I've tried out other places and wasn't as pleased with the results). 4 stars for lashes, negative stars for waxing.
This review is mostly about my recent waxing experience. Scheduling was a bit of a hassle. I scheduled online and it took them a few days to get back to me. They cancelled it due to it being a holiday week, so slightly different hours/days that week. Understandable, but it would be nice if they responded (confirmed/cancelled) appointments quicker. It was also confusing that I got a text message saying my appointment was cancelled, like a day after I got the confirmation text, and when I called they said I was still scheduled. Weird. Okay, so when I get there the following appointment came in right after me. I don't know if that made Mercedes feel rushed or she was upset that I forgot to tip her when she did my lashes. I didn't realize I hadn't done so until a few days later; I was the last person to leave and was practically napping thru my lash appointment so when I was leaving I was out of it tbh. Excuses aside, I was going to leave a bigger tip after the wax to make up for it. I had to slightly downgrade the tip though because although it was the fastest wax I've ever had (and I've had quite a few from various places), it was by far the most painful. She literally man-handled me. Reading other reviews, I was a little upset that I got such a different experience. I don't really mind that she wasn't trying to conversate, since I'm not big on small talk anyways. But she just seemed really short with me. She didn't provide or tell me about any wipes or a towel to cover up while waiting, so that was super awkward for me (esp with my hoo-ha facing an open window, but it was to an empty field so I wasn't too concerned about passerby's). She wasn't trying to be gentle at all; it felt like I was a participant in a competition to see who could wax someone fastest. I'm all about speed, but it just felt messy/sloppy and unbelievably rough. She didn't even give the wax or strips time to set. There were some left over hairs, but I didn't care at that point because I wasn't trying to bleed or get my skin ripped off for them. The cherry on top was that she said they don't do the backside. What tf kind of Brazilian doesn't include the backside?! She said I could pay extra and add it on, but it should have been included. I was just done with the whole experience and wanted to leave so I was like whatever and just put my clothes back on and left.
Note: I was nervous about not being able to use the Groupon for waxing since I wasn't technically a new customer to the shop (see Sara G's post), although I was new in terms of waxing services. Luckily, it wasn't an issue for me but I would recommend giving them a call and verifying first (so you don't waste your time and money).
Overall, their days/hours aren't the best, at least for me personally. But, they are really close to home so I might be back out of convenience..I'm honestly kinda scared to come back though :/ read more
