Dinnertime along the Florida coastline, I headed here for two hours of eating, drinking and sitting quietly with my laptop off to the side. "Sit anywhere" and so I found a spot along the wall with a power outlet within reach. Not long after I settled, a waitress dropped off food and beer menus. So many choices! I ended up building a flight of four beers. Great choices, my favorite was the Mexican Lager. For dinner, I had a margherita flatbread that had free cheese, tomatoes and basil on top. Not quite the same as the ones I had enjoyed in Napoli a few weeks prior but still delicious and enjoyable. With it, the wedge salad was a proper cut of a head of iceberg lettuce topped with blue cheese and bacon and cucumbers and sliced cherry tomatoes. This is a historic building with a plaque. "Built in 1898 for the Fee & Stewart Hardware Store, and owned by two men who later became City Mayors, this building has been transformed over the years, once, as a result of the 1919 Great Fire. It remains an excellent example of the early 20th century commercial architecture." There is street parking and a large gravel parking lot across the way. I enjoyed my time here and would return. Hell 'n Blazes smoked fish dip is the BOMB! We ordered it, expecting a tiny cup of dip and a few crackers...WRONG! What we got was a full meal, with flat bread, crackers, celery, carrots, jalepñoes and a big cup of some really tasty fish dip. Stopped in on Memorial Day and enjoyed a couple beers and appetizers! We have come and visited a few times-- food and service has always been spot on. I wanted to take a moment to share some feedback regarding two recent visits to your restaurant. On July 4th, I had dinner at your restaurant and ordered the blackened chicken. It was absolutely out of this world--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I was genuinely impressed and couldn't stop telling friends and family about it. I even wish I had taken a photo of it to remember how fantastic it was! I returned on July 10th and ordered the same dish, excited to have it again. Unfortunately, it was very different this time. The chicken wasn't blackened, and the seasoning seemed to lean more toward a red spice blend. The pasta was also different, and the dish was served in a smaller portion and a different style of bowl. I understand the restaurant was very busy, and I want to emphasize that our server was outstanding--professional, courteous, and responsive. He kindly had the dish remade, but even the second version lacked the bold blackened flavor I had enjoyed so much on the 4th. Perhaps a different chef was on duty, or the recipe had changed, but I wanted to share my experience in case there was a mix-up. Also the brisket included a very fatty piece so we get getting gravy covered bites that had no meat. I personally prefer lean brisket and my husband who likes marbled agreed this should have been lean. We got the mushroom flatbread which I do not recommend. Completely flavorless. Good ambience, but the seating isn't comfortable. Our server was really nice. The beer flight and margarita were tasty, but the food was the real issue. My husband had a reuben sandwich (on the daily special menu) and I had the brisket grilled cheese and they were both incredibly dry. My hubby said the reuben barely had any thousand island dressing and only had a tiny amount of sauerkraut. The brisket grilled cheese had A LOT of brisket in it, but it was dry and didn't have a smoked flavor; if there was sauce on the sandwich I couldn't see it, and it had maybe one thin slice of melted cheddar. Walked in at 7pm on a Sunday night (closes at 8pm), and it was seat yourself style where the waitstaff comes to you. It took over five minutes for anyone to acknowledge we were there which seemed a bit odd being that it really wasn't that full. Unfortunately the kitchen was out of quite a few things on the kids menu, basic stuff like fruit and potatoes. There was no option for a burger for the kids either. That seemed a bit odd being that there were many burgers on the main menu. While the food we did order was decent, the service was subpar. Our waitress hardly ever smiled, we had to ask for drink refills, and when I asked for an additional side of mac & cheese (I pointed right at my daughters kids meal side), she brought me the adult version side of mac & cheese (this matters in a minute) ... We paid the bill, left a tip and then opened the to go box to check the mac & cheese. Our server could immediately see that we were displeased because the preparation is different between kids and adults. When I said, I asked for that (pointing to the other side) mac & cheese (being the kids version), she said something to the effect of, "Oh yea the kids and adult prep are different. Sorry." Then kind of shrugged her shoulders and walked off. I really wish I hadn't left a 22% tip at that point, but it was what it was. We left promptly and likely wouldn't go back. read more

OMG...the brisket poutine here was amazeballs! Had good gravy & legit curd action! This is the best poutine I've had in FL! Which mad props because I am a poutine snob and have had the authentic original in Quebec. The stuff I have seen places try to pass off as "poutine" down here in FL is highly suspect. This was absolutely #droolface delicious! The Flight of Four is easy to order and I like their order sheets! All the beers are solid and true to their styles. My faves were the Keep em Buzzing, Northern Flow, and their newly tapped hazy, Major Haze. The ambiance and decor is great and has that old small town beer hall feel. The staff are absolutely fantastic! They are attentive, engaging, super friendly, and even make informed and thoughtful suggestions. I also felt so safe eating and drinking here because their COVID-safety level=Expert! They have sanitizers at each table, have a cleaning protocol w/a "stop/red, green/go" for each table. I can here for lunch on a Friday afternoon as my wife and I visited my sister on our way to Orlando. I enjoy visiting different breweries and this was the first brewery I visited in Melbourne. I have never heard of Melbourne being a good beer city, but HnB was a great place to br introduced to the beer scene. My first beer I had was the Georgia Hefenweizen, it is exactly what I look for in a here. It had a clean and crisp flavor, and was really refreshing. We made a return trip with 7 friends. I ordered the club, supposedly one of their specialties. I was served dry toast with turkey, lettuce, and a smear of avocado. When I was finally able to flag down our server, she seemed surprised. She brought out some bacon (not candied like on the menu) and some sauce. I never got tomatoes. The bartender, who was the only person available to talk to, said they were out of tomatoes. She did offer half off my meal. It wasn't enough. The place was pristine with a large bar, beautiful carved wood tables, and cozy couches in the front corners. Plus a spot in the back for darts, shuffleboard, and a few arcade games. My only complaint was that it was so loud. We went on a Thursday evening and was only a quarter full. I think the sound of people talking, yelling and laughing just bounces off the ceiling and walls. If you are looking for a quiet place to enjoy a beer this might not be it. The burgers were phenomenal and cooked exactly as ordered. I had the Goat Cheese burger (cooked medium, arugula, goat cheese, caramelized onions, mushrooms and balsamic vinegar). Truly scrumptious! Pricey burger at $19 but was worth it! Very comfortable sofa areas and interesting game room. Huge square bar in the main room. Very nice. We were there early Wednesday evening before it started to get busy. Nick says the place is packed on Friday and Saturday nights. Nick has been a server there for a number of years. But, he is more than a server. He's more like a friend coming around your table. What was our third brewery stop of the day in Melbourne, Hell 'N Blazes has the feel more of a gastropub, but it is a good hangout that serves good food and craft beer. Located in Melbourne's downtown area, Hell 'N Blazes can easily fit as an afternoon/happy hour hangout or as a stop on a bar crawl. The building itself has a nice appeal to it, being that it used to be a hardware and farm supply store for decades. It almost has a Victorian vibe to it as a result that is home to a microbrewery that produces solid craft beer. The set-up comprises the bar area and lounge upfront, the brewhouse in the back, while there's a long hallway leading to a games room that is a lot of fun, especially after a couple of cold ones. The tap list has anywhere from 12 to 18 beers made in-house, with a list of wine for those that don't or can't drink beer. I ordered a flight of beer that comprised the Mabel's Monster Mangos Belgian Pale Ale, Hurricane Repellant Sour Berliner Weisse, Georgia Bound Heffewizen with peaches, and the Sourpuss fruited sour beer. Overall, the beers were good, and I enjoyed washing down my meal with them for the sake of spiritual oneness. They have a good menu for both items to pick at and sandwiches to hold. We ordered candied bacon and fried pickle slices. The former I enjoyed immensely, very magical, and mystical that brought me to a place of peace and prosperity, while the latter was delicious as well. Additionally, I enjoyed the Ringer burger made with white cheddar and (you guessed it) bacon, also a beer-battered onion ring. We ended up staying at Hell 'N Blazes for a while. At any given time, you can expect to choose from about 15 beers ready for your drinking pleasure! They also have wines available as well. Wino-win! Aside from their beverages, they also have a full pub menu featuring sandwiches burners, pizzas, and bbq platters. On Tuesdays, they have tacos including a $2 pork, $3 chicken, and $4 brisket! Hell n Blazes Brewing Co.- Melbourne, FL- 3 Stars Located in a building on New Haven that dates back to 1898, and most recently housed a small boutique catering to the Christmas season and tourists, one finds our destination of the day, Hell n Blazes Brewing Co. After being dry for 241 days and with nary a mention of grub in the name, I have to say that I was a bit apprehensive about my next meal. Upon entering it was obvious that, name notwithstanding, this place was built as a brewery first, food service joint as an afterthought. Even with the emphasis put on the brewing aspect, the whole came off as a very friendly design and the place was stocked with an extremely outgoing and charming staff. With a full bar and at least nine freshly brewed beers on tap, my mouth was watering. Foregoing the inviting libations, I turned my attention to the job at hand. Perusing the menu, it came off as your typical pub fare with enough creativity thrown in to make it interesting. My waitress introduced herself as Sara, and while she had the appearance of a headliner at Lilith Fair, she is super knowledgeable on the menu and spot-on to the point of being a 4-star server all day long. I asked Sara for one Goat Burger (medium rare) and an order of their Mac and Cheese. Counting the minutes as I tried in vain to divert my eyes from the whispering beer taps, I soon saw Sara approaching with my order. As soon as she placed my food on the table, I graciously waved her off, snapped the obligatory pictures and dug in. The bun the burger was served on a perfectly toasted delicious Kaiser bun. The meat itself was hand-formed and cooked as ordered, the sad part was that the mushrooms were obviously pre-sliced. That doesn't mean they weren't fresh, just that they appeared to perfectly sliced to be sliced to order. I could be wrong, maybe the chef is that good. The onions were sauteed to a delightful caramelization and the accompanying Arugula added a nice bite to the aftertaste. All in all it was your average pub burger. The Mac and Cheese was an appealing spiral Mueller pasta, however, the dish itself came off as being melted in the microwave. The taste was fine, again, nothing spectacular, but far from the bottom of the barrel. As the items sampled were ordinary, I would be wary of venturing away from your typical burgers and brew here. The food was pretty darn good for a gastropub. We ordered the pretzel stick appetizer and it was pretty good. I had a brisket grilled cheese sandwich.....very good and the mini-me had a pork sandwich. It would have been nice if the app came out first but it was a busy night. The staff was pretty attentive and the crowd started to turn a biut younger as time went on. The beers were hit and miss. Do not try the Dingleberry beer. The name should have warned me.....but hey I took a shot. They have a broad selection but definitely skewed toward the IPAs.....IBU rating on each beer.....most were pretty high....not a fan...
