Baked scallop
Carrie S.

This was a very nice place to visit out at kiawah but I felt some things on the menu were a little overpriced. Tables are a little too close.. Our server was very nice and explained everything and they did have some specials that night, which I believe the scallops which was similar to an oyster Rockefellerwere special for the night.

Red Fish

Started at bar with a couple of extra dirty martinis... perfect. After we got to our table we added a bottle of Cantena Malbec with the escargot and shrimp/crab appetizers, which was great. Cornbread/bread served was fresh and flavorful. Entrees were a Red Fish (jambalaya like) and Halibut. Both were absolutely FANTASTIC! I never take home anything but I asked for a box for leftovers. We were stuffed. Chocolate for dessert was a spectacular finish. Service was great. We will be back.

Service was excellent. Ribeye was a B taste wise. Needed more seasoning. I asked for the steak to be cooked rare plus. I know I know douche - but that's the way I like it. Cook below - nah. Am I going to complain there - of course not. Close enough. Pate was good. Prices were quite high - $70 for the ribeye but they are on the island so I understand.

This restaurant had an intimate ambience even though it's attached to an outdoor mall/plaza situation. Great menu, delicious food and excellent service. The food was so rich and flavorful, i wanted to try it all. They know how to cook a lobster tail, and my friends short ribs were one of the best I've had.

Red pizou seafood
Sarah B.

Tonight Amy was our server and she did a great job! For appetizer we had the grav lox and the scallop paella and for appetizer I had the red pizou seafood linguini and the halibut with white wine buerre blanc. The halibut was more buttery than we remember. The seafood paired great with the cote de Rhône!!

Our server Micheala was fantastic! We enjoyed my husband's birthday dinner to the fullest. Our food was delicious. The braised short rib was to die for! And don't be afraid of the blue cheese sauce! So good!

Great atmosphere. Spectacular cocktails, wine and service. The halibut is one of the best dishes I've ever eaten.

He makes this meal at home and it's one of his favs. He had to try it as we never see it on a menu. He said it was good but didn't meet his high standards. We finished our meal with a crème brûlée which had a variety of berries. So good and a nice light way to end the meal with some sweets. Service was good. Service was good overall, though they didn't check on us very often. I had the Lunch on the Porch so I could sample a little bit of everything: she-crab soup, crab cake slider, and beet salad. Everything was delicious. The she-crab soup was my favorite -- rich, flavorful, and with some lump crab in the soup. The crab cake slider had very little filler, just how I like it, and the toasted bun added a nice texture. The sides of the fruits were fresh. Their Southern fried chicken sandwich was solid without feeling overly heavy. Overall, it was such a pleasant lunch experience.

The QR code gave tasting notes, so I could choose what I might want from there. The food was also delicious. The meatball had a cinnamon after taste which was interesting. The wait staff was not very welcoming, which definitely impacted the overall experience. When visiting a restaurant, especially one with such a great reputation, I expect to feel welcomed and valued as a guest. I was also disappointed by the inconsistency in the posted hours. The hours listed on the restaurant's website differed from the hours shown on Google, which can be very confusing when you're trying to plan your visit. Another concern was the payment experience. The restaurant placed two separate holds on my account--one for $1 and another for over $100. I understand that temporary authorization holds can sometimes occur, but having two separate holds was unexpected and added to an already disappointing experience. Hopefully, this was just an off experience, but based on my visit, I would hesitate to return.

I love how they fire the shrimp at the last minute, so they don't sit in a heated soup for hours on end, becoming rubber bands. Next, I got the scallops with the saffron risotto. Yum! Girlfriend got the a snapper dish on a butter bean medley. She doesn't like Lima beans (which these actually appeared to be), so she ate around them, but she loved the fish! Service - 5 stars Our waiter was a nice gentleman named Tony. He was very friendly and helpful and timely with his service. Did a good job of helping my girlfriend navigate the wine menu (she's quite picky). They've actually got some aged white wines (Sauvignon blancs) that are quite different than what she normally drinks (she likes New Zealand varieties), so he steered her clear of them. Ambiance - 5 stars I found the interior of the place to be very inviting. Tall ceilings and modern architecture. A little on the loud side (we had a family with young kids nearby), but not bad. They actually have sound absorbing panels mounted on the ceiling, so you can tell they've given this element some thought. Finally, our table had a nice view of the kitchen and, as an avid personal chef, I really appreciate that aspect. Only odd thing (to me, at least) was that they sat us at a table right away (we arrived right at 5pm, which was when they opened), but told us that the bar seating was by reservation only. Odd...but maybe be the Kentucky Derby was coming on later that evening? In summary, I highly recommend this place and we will certainly be coming back!

Chef's Kiss! What…read morean absolutely wonderful experience at La Chev 208 in Summerville! This quaint little French restaurant is truly a hidden gem. From the atmosphere to the service to the FOOD--everything was fantastic! We started with shrimp cocktail and French bread, along with a glass of Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. For our entrées, we had the filet mignon and beef bourguignon, and WOW! Every bite was delicious and beautifully prepared. Our waitress, Reina, was so sweet and attentive, and the owner personally stopped by our table several times to make sure we had everything we needed and that our meals were prepared perfectly. That kind of personal attention really made the evening feel special. The restaurant was packed, and we even saw a few couples turned away because there simply weren't any tables available--which tells you everything you need to know! Definitely make a reservation! Fantastic food, wonderful wine, amazing service, and such a charming atmosphere. La Chev 208 is an absolute Chef's Kiss! We will definitely be back!

The restaurant is located inside what was formerly a private residence, which adds to its charm & gives it that cozy, intimate vibe. There's seating downstairs, upstairs, and even in the backyard. Dining here feels like being invited over to a friend's house for dinner without having to bring anything ! I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the overall vibe. Also there's a few spots in the front for parking and also street parking. We started with the Fig & Prosciutto Salad with pickled red onion, goat cheese, and arugula. Anything with goat cheese already has my vote, but this was delicious. The fig added a nice crunchy texture and sweetness that worked really well with the prosciutto and goat cheese. I would definitely order this again. We also shared the Chevalier Salad with mesclun, strawberry, goat cheese, and pecans. This was also very good, fresh, flavorful, and a great combination of sweet & savory. Between the two salads, though, I would definitely choose the Fig & Prosciutto!! We also tried the Duck Dumplings with a Cabernet sweet & sour glaze. Unfortunately, this was probably my least favorite dish of the night. The dumpling itself was a little bland, and I didn't feel like the glaze added much to it. I wouldn't order these again. For an entrée, if you're looking for something filling and more on the comfort food side .... and something you may even have leftovers from : I'd recommend the Short Rib Ragout with spinach, goat cheese, pine nuts, demi glace, and tagliatelle. It was flavorful, and satisfying. I would definitely order this again but again anything with goat cheese has my attention ! Looking forward to going back to La Chev & exploring the menu further !
