On my search to find tacos that I'm used to from Las Vegas (like Roberto's IYKYK) I found this restaurant. Very friendly, fast, and clean. I ordered three crunchy tacos, they come ground beef with chunks of potatoes, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. Salsa is served warm (I have only had it like this one other time and that was in PR) Overall very good. I would come back to try enchiladas. read more

I will give an average review for an average place: Nothing special about this place. Nice décor. Decent staff. Green sauce and red salsa is bland. Drink cups are huge. Entrees are small. Prices versus portions way out of whack. Shrimp enchilada was decent in taste. No where near slap your momma good, but edible. They were not skimpy on the shrimp. No true wow factor. Was greeted promptly upon entering and seated. Waiter returned with my drink order and brought chips and salsa. The chips were very light and only slightly crunchy. I dipped one into the red salsa (which was bland IMO) and the chip was kind of soggy before I got it to my mouth. I ordered the lunch cheese enchiladas which came with rice and beans ($8.99). Waiter was talking gaming to only other patron I saw inside. Someone else brought my plate. Presentation was meh. I was given plastic utensils and had to ask for more napkins. Enchilada was kind of tough to cut with plastic fork, but I managed. Nothing was "wow" about these cheese enchiladas for me. Restaurant appeared to be clean, but ceiling tiles were stained and I thought they may want to fall down. First time I've visited this restaurant and I dont live in the area. Was back in town this weekend to visit the family, so we hit up Hector's so I could get my fix. Regrettably, I am going to have to knock them down one star to four. To begin, the chips and salsa were still on point, but for not being very busy, the bus boy/waiter did not come around often enough to keep them full. Not poor service, but not the standards Hector's has accustomed me to. Normally, I get the fajitas, but wanting something different, I tried the seafood enchiladas. It's three enchiladas packed with crawfish and shrimp, covered in a white wine cream sauce, and white cheese. The description of the dish had my mouth watering, but honestly, it was a 3 star dish. IMO, it was way too heavy! The white wine cream sauce was delicious, but if you look at my picture, there also spots of orange. I can only assume this was butter or lard. If you're already covering the enchiladas with cheese and a cream sauce, you don't need to add a lot of butter/lard. The crawfish and shrimp also didn't taste fresh and were small, so I assume they were frozen. Again the sauce was good, and I see a lot of potential in the dish, but it needs to be just a bit lighter and have fresh ingredients. My parents also ordered enchildadas (chicken), and they appeared to be 3 stars as well. Might just have to stick to only getting fajitas here. read more

This the best Mexican restaurant in Humble! The fajitas Pablano is my favorite entree. The service is great and the staff is super personable. The owner knows what my wife and I like to drink and makes our drinks almost as soon as we walk in the door. I was in town end got a wonderful experience in this place . The service was excellent right when you walk in the door till you finish your eating. Having breakfast burritos was outstanding. on another day went back for dinner, just as I thought was great. Good atmosphere, great service, kind of homie. I like the gentleman who served us he remembered us and was great to see how some people take care of you like family. I am really disappointed in my entire experience. Got there about an hour before close and it seemed like they were already closed. They charged me for the Togo containers for my Togo order. They were out of green salsa and The food was cold and bland. Not to mention the parking lot was so dark I was sure I was going to be taken just walking from my car to the front entrance. Tonight I was craving fajitas! So to compromise with my child, we chose Hector's on FM 1960 since they have free ice cream. I have been here before and thought it was pretty good. Well tonight..the service was awesome..since there was not many patrons..they were staring at all the tables to see who needed what! I orderd a beer and my child ordered a Sprite! Well we got a beer and a water, which I appreciated, but wasn't what my child ordered. They bring us chips and salsa...blah. So I order my fajitas for one...and autumn got her cheese quesadilla. Hers was great..simple enough. I got the mixed fajitas...the beef was unchewable, I tried and each piece was going nowhere..the chicken was good, tortillas were homemade, beans and rice were your usual. The free ice cream was nice..but they only had vanilla. Absolutely disappointing ordering through Door Dash. Missing several items from order and only received half a small bag of chips with order. Called and spoke to Angel MGR and again was extremely disappointed with now their customer service. Angel very nonchalantly told me they made a mistake in the kitchen and I would have to drive to restaurant to pick up the rest of the order. I will never order from this restaurant again. read more

This place is awful. Food below average we got the queso, shrimp enchiladas, and fajita salad... my $12 fajita salad was chopped lettuce on a small plate with little bits of fajita. My last visit was my best so far. Lend me an ear, er an eye, and I'll tell you the two main reasons why: Food and service. 1. My water glass was never empty and as soon as I was slurping the bottom of my first margarita, my second was promptly presented. Our food (including chips and salsa) was served at just the right time. We had plenty of time to work on our appetizer prior to the delivery of our entrees, and that's not a common occurrence at various restaurants. 2. My entree, the carnitas, consisted of so much food that it wound up being three separate meals. The pork was incredible! Moist, flavorful, not too fatty and plentiful. The tortillas were clearly freshly made. I could honestly eat just those. Also, the avocado was perfectly ripe. The chips, salsa, rice and beans were not the best I've had but they weren't bad either. Our cheesy appetizer was nothing fancy, but it was tasty. Melted gooey cheese with peppers, onions and mushrooms. Yum! Just a couple of notes: I felt like we had at least 5 or 6 different servers, which is always a little weird to me. But they did a good job, so that's not a complaint so much as an observation. The free ice cream was a nice touch, but I was too full to even think about dessert. But I still think it's cool that they offer it. I read that kids eat free certain days, too. Best service I have received in a restraunt in a long time. To start you are given a huge basket of chips and the traditional red salsa and green salsa (I believe it is a jalopeno sauce). The salsas are freshly made and delicious. For my main course I asked for recommendations since in the 7 years of being in the area I had never been. The recommendation was the Strawberrie's Especial, which is a mouth watering, eye popping sizzlin iron skillet full of fajita meat, bacon wrapped shrimp, sausage, and onion covered with cheese and serviced with rice, beans, and tortillas. My husband ordered the Chicken Enchiladas. I can not personally tell you how they tasted, but I can tell you that the enchiladas are made with real chuncks of chicken that you can see. He did told me that they were super good. The only downfall on this restraunt is that the signage from the road is not very noticable, so it is easy to over look this restraunt. But if you are in the mood for mexican and are in the Humble / Atascocita area, Hector's is the place. read more

This is my favorite Mexican food place in our area. You get lots of food for your money! They have a covered patio seating area that is usually cool no matter how hot it is outside. My favorite are the shrimp enchiladas and chicken tostadas, yummy! I can usually never finish my meal after gorging on chips with red and green sauce =) We always have great service too, definitely a plus! read more

It was an absolutely beautiful day, so my husband and I stopped by for dinner and a few ritas. We sat outside and though it was storming with flies, it was quite and private. There was a television on, it would have been nice to have been offered for it be changed, it didn't upset us, even though listening to Dr. Phil while trying to relax was a bit odd lol. Went there on a Friday night. From the outside it looked like this restaurant would provide a fun atmosphere for our evening. However, upon entering, we realized that the ostensibly "outside" karaoke was not outside, and the melodies of Humble's vocalists permeated the entire restaurant. (I do love karaoke, I was more upset that it was not in a separate environment as purported.) We selected bar seating, were promptly given stale chips and bland salsa, and after waiting 15 minutes the bar tender (serving 6 patrons total) finally approached us after already serving 2 patrons who arrived after us. He asked for our ID's and then handed them back with a sniggeringly wry smile and said he'd be happy to serve us soft drinks. Now, my girlfriend and I do look young, and had TN ID's; but, when we asked for the manager, who took 6 minutes to reach us, he was not convinced by our ID's. I showed him 2 old copies of mine, and what TN ID's look like on my phone. He did try to reason, only passed up the blame to his supposed "boss man." The restaurant had an air of unprofessionalism, and despite our respectful attitudes, we were treated as liars. We cancelled our order and left. read more

Would've given 5 stars, but the dinner meals that say "serves 2 or 3" is only big enough to really fit for 1! My mans and I tried splitting the mixed selection of meat for 2..highlight the word "tried". We were both still pretty hungry after! Overall, the atmosphere was cute and homie.
