Carne asada tacos
Francisco M.

Visiting from California in Houston; I was craving for carne asada and decided to look for a no too fancy place and found Los Charros. Previous reviews put this place with 4.5 so I wanted to see by myself, or taste by myself. I ordered the carne asada taco and al pastor. Not too fancy presented but as soon I bite it the flavor of this carne asada went all over indicating that was exactly what I was craving for. Full of flavor, tender and a very good portion of meat form$2.50, excellent price. Service was attentive and prompt. Ambiance, I will definitely work on that. I will recommend this carne asada tacos with a few add ons. Side order of guacamole Limes Chopped onions and cilantro With your respective beer. The place is not fancy, but the flavor of these tacos are great.

Great place to be on a Friday night!! They had karaoke beer, piña coladas and margaritas. The waitress was nice and attentive Buen lugar para estar en un viernes, tienen karaoke x la noche junto con piña coladas, cerveza, y margaritas. La mesera era muy amable y al pendiente

Only been here a couple of times, but can say I like it. Good enough space, music not blaring & staff generally nice. Prices are right too. My recent visit was for breakfast. Huevos rancheros were very good. The sauce well seasoned without being salty. Tortillas were just thick enough. Beans & pappas tasty too. This go round it took me a sec to get my waitresses attention when asking for water or coffee refill. Literally walked past me 3 or 4 times; another waitress ended up bringing it to me. And no it wasn't a busy Saturday & I wasn't in a hurry. There was an unpleasant smell overtaking the joint. Not sure if pipe burst or what but it was pretty bad. I stuck it out for the food lol. I love dives, family run, hole in the wall, food truck stand type places. So its not coming from a snobby POV. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but will be back. Gotta get my stars up to match the other reviews of this joint. Yelp on my friends!

Great micheladas, I always get the steak and eggs and it's always a great size and delicious. Menudo every day. Great prices for portion sizes.

Decent sized restaurant on a side street, near my favorite mexican restaurant. They provide free queso with your chips and salsa. No lunch menu per se, just a list of specialty items on the 1st 2 pages of the 4 page menu. They offer 1 lunch special every weekday. I ordered the carne guisada (Monday's special) for $7.95. My colleague and I chose both the homemade flour and the homemade corn tortillas. The meal comes with tortillas, pico and guacamole. I enjoyed it, even if the guisada was a little on the salty side. They offer a few aguas frescas on the menu, so I ordered the melon which was pretty good, just had a lot of foam in it. Service was friendly and attentive. I'd probably only return if I was in the area and my fav mexican place was closed again...

Barbacoa burrito

Service was excellent. Food was flavorful and came out pretty quickly. The restaurant was packed but the waitress was still attentive and our food came without any issues. I really liked the horchata here. For my dish I tried the Barbacoa burrito which came with a delicious consume/salsa.

We visited around 5:00 PM on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately for a party of two without a reservation. The restaurant is huge, and despite being very busy, the service was efficient. We were seated in one of the back dining rooms and greeted with complimentary chips and salsa, both of which were delicious. The atmosphere was fantastic--packed with World Cup fans, with what felt like everyone wearing a soccer jersey. As fellow futebol fans, we loved the energy. Being from California, we're fortunate to have access to some excellent Mexican food, so we were a little hesitant about trying Tex-Mex. I ordered the chicken fajitas with flour tortillas and a passion fruit margarita. The chicken had a smoky flavor and a sauce that gave the dish a distinctly Texas-style twist. The flour tortillas were outstanding, and the refried beans and rice were just as enjoyable. The passion fruit margarita was also a standout and something I'd definitely order again. Overall, this was a great dining experience and a place I'd recommend for the atmosphere alone. The restaurant appears well-equipped to accommodate large groups, making it a great option for gatherings. Next time, I'd love to return with a bigger group and take advantage of one of their margarita pitchers!

For drinks, my husband and our friends tried some of the margaritas from their large and unique margaritas menu, as well as their hibiscus agua fresca. All of the drinks were very pretty and it seemed like everyone enjoyed them, too! We started with their chips and salsa trio, which we all really liked. The chips were on the thicker side, but were crispy and not stale or chewy at all. Each of the salsas were quite different, and two were served warm, which we really liked! For the price, I'd consider getting the chips and salsa as a non-negotiable, honestly. For entrees, we tried the enchilada rojas, chilaquiles verde w/ chicken and beef, birria barbacoa ramen, and huaraches. My husband felt like his ramen could have included more meat, but aside from that everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The highlight was probably the desserts, though! We got a quatro leches and two ordered of their giant and amazing churros. Both were incredibly tasty and reason enough to return for another visit in the future!

I couldn't not order the duck carnitas. It came on a sope, which is basically my definition of the perfect Mexican brunch. It was really yummy, and I especially loved the salsa that came with it. My only real critique is that the portions felt a little on the smaller side. Either bump them up a bit or add a small side, because I definitely could've eaten a little more.
