Food and service are amazing in Huber Heights. The large breakfast burritos are worth the price!

I really like the food here but every single time we get an order to go it's wrong. They stopped giving us salsa so just to be on the safe side with the last order, we added a side of salsa. Got a taco salad and six soft taco tacos, and absolutely no salsa came with the order. No dressing for the salad nothing. Do better Hector's. I'm tired of arguing with you over my order. Telling me you'll let the manager know Harley makes up for the fact that you've done this to us over and over. My bad for giving them multiple chances. read more

I was very disappointed in the food I received. I pass by this place all the time and figured I'd give it a try. I had the carne asada, barbacoa, chorizo, and carnitas tacos. They all lacked flavor accept the chorizo taco. That one was very good and the only one I would reorder. The carne asada was tough to chew, barbacoa tasted very bland, and carnitas was ok but also a little tough texture. The worst part of the meal was the queso. The consistency was super watery, almost like milk. I thought it was a mistake. It also had zero flavor. I tried on a couple chips and then threw it out. It was a last minute addition to my order and I regretted it big time. The pros to this place is it's relatively cheap but not worth it for the quality of food I got. read more

Good food and friendly staff. I don't have a lot of complaints. I'll state that this is normalizing against "hole in the wall" restaurants. It's a five star for food and service. If this were a chain or a restaurant pretending to be more upscale, the number would go down for ambiance and temperature control. read more

We have been going to Hector's for many years. Over the last year or so every time we order, mainly through DoorDash, the orders are always incorrect. I stupidly gave them another try today and of course it happened for the fourth time in a row. As much as we love the food, getting your order incorrectly and receiving it with no salsa, no dressing for the salad and no chips for the salsa that you ordered is no Bueno. I'm sorry, but we're done with Hector's. read more

Got Hector's Taco Shop for take out mid week and it was great. Since it was my first time, I went inside to order, but they also have a drive thru. You order at the counter, then they bring the food to you while you wait. If you dine in, they will bring it to your table. I got three street tacos: chicken, barbacoa and marinated pork. I also got a side of chips and queso. It was around $15. It took maybe 5 minutes to prepare and I was on my way. The tacos were delicious. My favorite in descending order was barbacoa, pork, chicken. I was surprised to see a large (8oz) queso and essentially a store-sized bag of tortilla chips for my "side" of chips and queso. Come to find out, they do sell a small (2oz) queso, so if you only want a single portion, you should clarify. That said, I ended up dunking my tacos in the queso for added flavor so it worked out well. Overall, I would definitely get Hector's again. read more

Very very very good food!!!! Give this little hometown place a try. I have always gotten tasty and hot food. When people complain, their order arrived cold, that's not Hector's fault that's your DoorDash driver filling several orders at one time before they get to you read more

The first time I came here it was excellent! The second time was alright. I will stick to the enchilada and taco combination, as that is much better than the street tacos. The beans and rice are good. One thing to note is the cheese dip is not standard (non spicy) kind, as it has a high spice kick. I was fine with it but I had ordered it for my kids and they of course would not eat it as it was spicy! They shared a cheese quesadilla. It could have been more melted for my preference but they didn't mind it! The chips they offer are fresh but need more salsa than the small portion offered. The street tacos were just okay! The chicken was super bland, but my 2 year old thought it was excellent! The carnitas were okay, but could be more tender. I would keep returning but not get the street tacos! read more

We have always said we have to try Hector's taco shop for the last few years. We finally tried Hector's taco shop today. I got 3 street tacos, Steak, Chicken and shrimp. My husband got a chimichanga. Their food is so fresh and tasty. I like everything. The shop is clean and bright sunlight was shining in. The music in Spanish and the young guy was sometimes singing along. I love that sort of atmosphere. We will definitely come back. read more

Food is always great! Always fast and fresh. Kind of weird when people pay for delivery and complain abt cold food, they're not in a hurry to eat or get you your food, shouldn't be the restaurants fault. When i place my pick up orders i always ask for my salsas or pick up the food and use the self serve salsa bar. SO nice. Love the food and will be back. Be kind, patient and friendly. God bless everyone but more those that need Jesus :) read more

Been wanting to try this place for awhile & finally got around to it. I stopped in for lunch & ordered a taco & tostada which came with a side of refried beans & a side of rice. I got ground beef on the taco & shredded beef on the tostada. I also ordered chips & salsa ($3.99). I got my food to go. The restaurant is large & looks clean. You order at the counter & soft drinks (Pepsi products) are self-serve. My food was ready within 7 minutes of ordering. It was a decent portion & I couldn't finish it all. I really loved the chips & salsa. I poured half the salsa on my taco & tostada - yum. I would recommend this tasty Mexican restaurant in downtown Middletown. read more

I love hectors, if I ever got to meet hector I'd shake his hand personally. Very rarely do I get let down from this place. Go to order being a California burrito and a large soda. Delicious home-made Mexican food prepared by gracious staff. I ordered a combo taco/enchilada with beans and rice and a Jamaica agua fresca to accompany my lunch. As a native Californian I can be a tough critic when it comes to my fave cuisine, and I have to say everything was on point. The enchilada sauce was SO good,, Mexican style rice was moist, flavorful and fresh, beans were very good as well, but by the time I got to them I was completely full. Steady stream of Customers which was lovely to see for this small business. Please support this local establishment you won't be disappointed. read more

Situated along an unassuming stretch of Colonel Glenn Hwy in Fairborn, not far from Wright Patterson Air Force Base, this quaint taco shop serves the best Mexican fare around and at reasonable prices! The owners clearly take pride in the quality of their menu items, which is evident in the freshness and taste that you get in return. Upon driving by I noticed the sign, which grabbed my attention as I was hungry and needed something tasty to quell my appetite. Well, my decision to turn around was one that paid immediate dividends. Upon walking in I noticed a few booths and a counter which was attended by a friendly young lady. In addition to tacos, the menu offers burritos, quesadillas, tortas, enchiladas, chimichangas, and a variety of house made beverages. I went with a veggie burrito and an horchata (rice milk), both of which tasted remarkably delicious and were impeccably prepared! If you live in the Dayton area and want excellent Mexican fare, look no further than Hector's Taco Shop! read more

We recently got food from this place and it was really disappointing. We normally get good food but this time we ordered chips and guac and the it was the greyest guac we've ever seen. We also asked for 6 sala verdes and got 1 and sala rojas which we never asked for. Spent 30$ for bad food. Not coming here for a while. read more

If you liked the local Victor's Tacos chain, you should definitely give Hector's a try. Their adobado pork is incredible, whatever you get it in. The street tacos are lovely, the crispy tacos are ludicrously crispy, and their burritos are comically huge. They have a small salsa bar with their green (mild) and red (hot) salsas plus a couple garnishes. I love dropping in for tacos and horchata (free refills!) on a hot day. The booths are a little cramped and the location is not at all picturesque but give them a try! read more

Very small taco shop with a fairly large menu. It was my first time so I wanted to test the waters with some street tacos and horchata. I ordered an adobada, barbacoa and a carnitas street taco. Terrible service took over 30 min to get one take out meal, also waited 10 min in the drive thru and no one came to service us. There were flies everywhere inside, and the inside of the dining area did not appear clean. Once we got our food it was inedible. The steak meat in the quesadilla was terrible, it tasted gamey and not like actual steak. The beans were a bad consistency, and the rice was hard. Our food was not fresh for waiting as long as we did very dissapointed as this was our first time there! read more
