A visit from local favorite bartender Matthias caused the need to visit this bakery, which doubles…read moreas a bar a few nights a week. Full stocked bar with some interesting ideas for drinks. Square top peninsula bar to the left as you walk in and lounge area sofas and arm chairs to sit in groups to the right. Place is clean and just FYI it has one unisex bathroom and the place opens at 7 PM. This Friday night featured an appetizer menu, what I will call a munchies menu of tacos made by another vendor, and bottle cap bingo of all things. I tried the pecan bourbon old fashioned ($13) and found it to be good. I try to limit the add-ins somewhat and so I just stuck with Buffalo Trace on a large rock for the rest of the night. My wife had several mixed drinks that were in the $12 range. Matthias came up with a drink that was, per my wife, "sweet and strong." I thought maybe she was thinking of me when she ordered but she nixed that idea pretty quickly....LOL Mini-charcuterie ($12) I thought left something to be desired. Beef jerky added with just a toothpick of cured meats. Not sure how they fit three different types on there but they did and it was just enough to make you want more. Cheeses seemed to be basic run of the mill diced. Per my wife it was ok, but she would probably pass on ordering it again. It's not meant as an entree to be fair and there is a good portion as a whole, but just overly simple and a little light on proteins. I'd cut down the cheese and double the toothpick, also 86 that jerky stuff and probably have a decent plate. Maybe even through a couple extra strawberries on there. Two sisters sitting next to us ordered the artichoke and spinach dip. They said the dip was fine but the baguettes were way over-toasted (i.e. too dry) and that seems like an easy fix. Later in the evening during bingo I tried a couple of tacos. They are brought in and stored, reheated when ordered. Unfortunately it seems like it as the flour tortillas are quite soft and it just doesn't come out fresh. The relleno burrito is just a relleno wrapped in a flour tortilla; the potato and chorizo had my wife's approval and mine as well. Laura runs a good bar over there, and some of you may remember her from Torchy's down the road. Fair pours and prices commensurate for around the area. Bingo runs pretty quickly, even the blackouts and the organizer had a plinko game a la price is right style. Was a fun run down memory lane for me. In a bit of irony, we never ordered dessert, which is the main focus of this business during the week. The samples I saw looked pretty good and it seems like the bar is just a way to make use of the space off bakery hours which I can appreciate. To me though they are nearing that price range where I'd expect a little better from the kitchen for appetizers. About $120 was the overall tab which we capped with a 25% tip. Went home after having a good time but just felt they fell short on the food.

What a charming find!…read more I stopped by The London Baker for the first time and immediately fell in love with the atmosphere. The space is absolutely beautiful, warm, and inviting. It feels like a little slice of London right here in North Texas. We tried a variety of pastries, a cake pop, and a London Fog tea. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The London Fog tea was especially delicious and made the experience feel even more special. What really stood out to me was the space itself. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend an afternoon catching up with friends. It would be perfect for a girls' day out, high tea, birthday celebration, baby shower, bridal shower, or bachelorette gathering. Every corner is thoughtfully designed and feels elegant without being stuffy. I can also see why they're so well known for their custom cakes. The displays alone are impressive, and after seeing everything in person, I would definitely consider ordering a cake here for a future special occasion. Whether you're stopping in for tea and pastries or planning a celebration, The London Baker is absolutely worth a visit. We'll definitely be back to try more from the menu.

They also have some amazing afternoon teas, if you're lucky enough to catch them. Things I would change: 1) I would love if they served breakfast until noon, rather than 11am. I'm a late sleeper on the weekends. 2) the afternoon teas are so phenomenal they should be more frequent. 2 weekends a month would be awesome, with specialty teas (e.g., Harry Potter, Mother's Day, etc) built into the schedule. Overall,

I've taken my friends from all over and I love how welcoming and friendly the staff is. The service is great as well. I went on a Saturday night with some friends and they had a live band that was very interactive with good music. My friends even got up and danced. We had a blast. Me encanta que aunque uno no sea Venezolano, te hacen sentir en casa. Que Dios continúe bendiciendo este lugar. 100% recomendados. Gracias a Daniel, el uber driver... creo que le toca comisión .

The 2-story strip-mall/office park that Luci's is located at is a ghost town, littered with 'for…read morelease' signs and with only a handful of active businesses open. Which is why it was such a surprise to open the door and find a bustling and full restaurant that was packed well after we left. The service is friendly and super-efficient though so we did not have to wait long for our food. And the food is amazing! The cachapas are the real deal - great corn flavor and loaded with cheese. Pro tip: the fried pork is better IMO than the beef (and a little cheaper) - tender, juicy and very well seasoned. Both the tequenos and the mushroom pastel are delicious as well - don't forget to add their avocado salsa to EVERYTHING. Next time I'll consider ordering the parillada which includes several meats and sides (for one = $20 but for two seems like a steal for $34!). This is one of the best South American restaurants I've been to in DFW and I highly recommend it!

Not only was the food impressive, but the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We had the the salmon avocado toast and the Acai bowl and bowl were so fresh and delicious. Loved the addition of the tater tots to the avocado toast and it was a filling and healthy way to start. For the main event, we then got the Earl Grey Chiffon cake and it was incredibly moist and flavorful while being light and not too sweet. The staff at the counter were very accommodating for our large group. There's a good amount of small tables and seating and there was a nice semi-separate area in the back they had a single, large table with enough seating for roughly 8. The staff brought out everything to us after ordering, and also were very helpful with some special instructions on bringing the cake after we had finished eating. They even provided candles and a cake cutter along with plates and plastic cutlery. Overall, was very pleased with our visit and we'll definitely be back to the more pastries and coffee!

They have a lot of different items, so you'll definitely find something you'll like.
