What we all need after a long walk is a good donut. And so I came in here to treat myself. I wanted just a plain old fashioned donut (that's the one where it looks like it was fried so long that it began to split in all directions) but they only had the chocolate ones so I snagged one. It was pretty good but I'm still on the hunt for my ultimate old fashioned donut that reminds me of Do-Rite's or Firecakes in Chicago. 4 stars because the woman working here was incredibly nice and sweeter than the donut itself. read more

The food from Sonny Donuts was subpar. The donuts I had delivered were very hard and stale. I also ordered what was meant to be a hot croissant breakfast sandwich, which was given to me completely cold - cold croissant, cold sausage, cold egg, cold cheese. Why would I order a hot breakfast sandwich just for it to be cold?? You should not expect customers to be able to heat it themselves, and nowhere in the description does it say it won't be toasted or heated. It's a shame, because the reviews from others have been very positive, but I will not be returning. read more

No question about it, Sonny Doughnuts at the NW corner of 121 and MacArthur in Lewisville is the BEST. Their glazed doughnuts and their cronuts are awesome. I've been going to this donut shop since we moved to The Colony several years ago. The donuts and kolaches are delicious! Donuts are sweet and flaky and the kolaches have a nice kick to it if you get the jalapeño one but you can't go wrong with any of their options. Service is excellent- the lady always greets us with a smile and hooks us up with a free donut(s) or another pastry. It's fairly small inside so there's some seating but not much. They do offer coffee and juice which is nice. If you live around here and want to go to a mom & pop shop for donuts and kolaches, come here! read more

**Spicy alert** Sonny Donuts is a little shop in Lewisville, on the northwest corner of 121 and MacArthur. They have some pretty good looking donuts, but I can't get past the spicy sausage kalochies. I have an addiction with spicy foods, and I know breads may not be the best for you; sometimes I need that little spicy cheat meal / treat. Now mind you, they have a small version, where the hot cheese and bits of jalapeno surround the little sausage inside the kalochies. The larger kalochies have the hot cheese and jalapeno bits are inside the sausage, both great just slightly different. Drinks are in abundance here from fresh hot coffee to cold juices and energy drinks. This little donut shop is always clean and shiny! Welcoming cheerful greetings are always coming from the work staff here. If you get a large order to take into the office, sometimes they slip you a small bag of donut holes. Bottom line, great customer service and some very wonderful tasty spicy kalochies! read more

I have lived across the street from them for 11 years now and I found no other place to get my Donuts I tried Country Donuts down the street on Denton Tap Road but they were horrible they were like pretzel dough it was doughy not done in one cinnamon roll Wade like 2 lb of dough it was just not good so I learned my lesson I do not go anywhere but Sunny's Donuts on MacArthur 121 bypass. Sonny's is directly on my way to work. I stop by here when I don't have time to swing by Donut City in Carrollton. The large spicy kolaches are very, very good. A slightly sweet yeast dough around a sausage with the cheese and jalapeno inside (I think made my Eckrich). Fresh and delicious. The donut selection is smaller than other places, but they have all the essentials. They aren't my favorite as far as donuts go, as the flavor tends to be mediocre to good, but not excellent. They make up for this in quick, efficient, and friendly service. Prices are good. read more

Yes, I'm a Korean who used to own my own donut shop and yes I do eat donuts on occasion. This place is near my house, always consistent, and has pretty good donuts. They are fresh... They are slightly on the small side, but the glaze isn't too thin or not sweet like some Koreans do it. Also their sausage rolls are soft and fresh. I like that they offer small jalapeño ones. They use a sweet dough for the sausage rolls, which I usually don't like, but they do it right here! The ham and cheese croissants are buttery flaky and the white cheese is yummy! read more

Small little donut shop. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done. The customer service was great! Very friendly staff. I do agree with the other Yelped that the place has a strong chemical oder. The parking lot is in a shopping strip so the parking is VERY tight. Luckily they close at 12pm every day so you can miss the craziness. The spicy kolache was pretty good. This is probably the best donut shop I've been to In years! It's not the closet shop to where I live, so I drive the extra miles just to make sure I get Sonny's. It's always worth it! I go once a week on random days and the donuts are ALWAYS FRESH, and amazing! My favorite is the cinnamon cake donut!
