For years I would buy several dozens of donuts for my staff. Today being National Donut Day I would do the same, this time I decided to do it online to get them prepared for my order since I was ordering 4 dozen of there mixed donuts. All was well and good making my way to shop when out of nowhere they just canceled my orders. I not upset they canceled my order but upset more that my order was for 9:15 am pick up and they canceled me at 9:09am. If they knew they were going to be busy either set my already paid order aside or at least cancel me sooner in the morning and not 6 minutes before my pick. I had to find another location that would accommodate me. I hope this doesn't happen again or anyone else, but this should have been planned better. read more

I felt like the donuts were underwhelming in comparison to Donut Palace over off MacArthur and Belt Line. It seemed like their service experience, marketing, and advertising were their strong points. There was a huge variety lot to choose from, but the quality just was not there. We got ordinary options like a chocolate donuts, kolaches, and a few others to sample. Our favorite Donut place was closed so we thought we'd try this place out, but I would rather buy frozen breakfast sandwiches or a great cereal. It just didn't justify the cost or quality. read more

My family was hungry and I didn't want to drive and get a thing. Lazy work from home Friday (that's my excuse!). We used UberEats and ordered from Donut City. Everything was amazingly fresh tasting and the sausage cheese kolaches and jalapeno kolaches were exceptionally good. My son and husband both later commented on how good they were. I went to the physical store the next day for breakfast. The store was so neat and cute! The folks behind the counter were super efficient and kind. The next Monday, I realized Donut City was closed and I went to another donut place. My family totally recognized the difference as soon as they tasted the items. I ordered through Door Dash and came here to write a review since they make their reviews on DD private. First, I ordered a dozen donut holes, they sent six. I ordered the sausage rolls and did not receive them and NO this was not an issue with DD. Donut City seals their bags, so DONUT CITY did not pack the sausage rolls into my order. The glazed donuts they sent were stale and hard to the touch and had to be trashed. I only ordered because of the reviews I was able to see on Yelp and google, so IDK if they just had an off day or what, but this was a disgusting presentation. read more

It was a sad day pulling up to the Krispy Kreme drive through only to find out they had gone out of business. I guess people just don't appreciate 400+ calorie donuts like they used to. Ever since this most depressing day I have been casually searching for a quality replacement, which I believe I have found in Donut City. Now I'll be the first to admit, paying a visit to a donut shop at 11a has disappointment written all over it. I mean, it's basically the equivalent of eating that last slice of pizza that has been sitting out all night, right? Fortunately, I was thrilled to find that Donut City is one of the best breakfast places around for a 3 hour old sugar bomb. I can only imagine how good it would have been if it were fresh (I'll probably be writing an update in the near future). Everything we had was quite good, but the highlights for me had to be the chocolate glazed donut (I obsess over chocolate like a woman, so this is a standby for me) and the Kolache. I really don't think I've had a better Kolache, as it struck the perfect balance between sweet and spicy, and the ratio of bread to sausage was spot on. Came here around 7 in the morning and got a donut. It was really great, and I've come here many times before for donuts that I thought were good as well. My favorites are the regular glazed, the old fashioned, and the blueberry cake donut. The main reason I gave 5 stars is because of the excellent service. Compared to the other donut places around Coppell where many people going there (or working there) don't wear masks or pack into the store, when I went here on Friday morning, I was the only person (usually not a good sign, but this time it was). Upon entering, I noticed they had hand sanitizer and wipes by the door, and the worker greeted me while wearing a mask. Donuts were not your run-of-the-mill ones. There were shaped ones and themed ones - my kids liked the rabbit-shaped ones. The sausage rolls were fresh and tasty. Good value too - 4 fancy donuts and three sausage rolls for $7. Kolaches (89 cents/each) are sweet and slightly glazed on the outside, moist and juicy on the inside. The sausages are fresh and the dough is never stale. Try the Croissant Kolache. It's flaky and crispy and buttery good! There's a wide assortment of different pastries from eclairs to twisties and lots of different donuts with chocolate, jelly, sprinkles and blueberries. Their donuts are light and fluffy. The donuts are perfectly coated with glaze, and they do not have that oily donut taste that some donuts have.
