Staff makes frequent mistakes and don't own up to them. Prescriptions are always late. They have really horrible internal controls.

I have been using this pharmacy for over 15 years. Never had a problem. They are quick, never gotten the wrong medication,s The employees are always polite and helpful. I have learned always call to make sure your med,s are ready for pickup before you leave home. That way you don't stand in line and find they are not ready and then you complain. Tech Ridge location ... horrible, terrible. We've been doing business there for a long time just out of convenience, but we're finished. The staff is surly, snotty and rude. I have to fight with them every month for my prescription ... if your script calls for needles/syringes they pass judgment and treat you even worse, delay or flat out refuse to fill it. The area itself is always filthy. It's run down, dim and depressing. heb has all the money in the world, they could brighten up and CLEAN their pharmacies. What heb really needs is some competitors ... give that scum bag family something to think about. read more

Worst pharmacy ever. I just spoke to the pharmacist at the store on Whitestone and he could care less about me. It was almost quitting time and he was ready to go. He told me to take my scripts somewhere else and that was fine with him. Two separate occasions I've had surgery and the doctor has sent my scripts to this location to have it not be filled. This time they told me it was too early to fill. Isn't that up to the surgeon who wrote the script and not some loser that has to work at HEB because he was bottom of his class. I'm moving my prescriptions somewhere else. HEB just doesn't care about me, only the money. read more

Taking an hour to fill a common prescription? Absolutely not. Will avoid in the future.

This is the absolute worst pharmacy in town! We had a very common prescription sent to them four infant son. When we went to pick it up first they said they didn't have the order, after some digging they found it and said it would be ready in 30 min. We came back and they told us AGAIN they couldn't find it, after further digging they said it was out of stock. No call, no apology, no follow up absolutely disgusting customer service and organization. Our son is 10 days old and needs these meds and for them to not even bother to call us to let us know they were out of stock is ridiculous. Especially since they told us to come back after 5 so the Dr office was closed. We will NEVER use this pharmacy again. read more

Much improved over the last year...long waits can still sometimes happens, 99 times it is because of the patient at the window who doesn't like the price and is asking them to make calls to their insurance company. I believe this pharmacy has outgrown their space-they have so many people working -they are sometimes tripping over each other-it is not possible that they could add more staff until HEB gives them a well deserved remodel. The staff in general are pretty good and deserve more respectful patients. read more

I gave up on HEB pharmacy a long time ago I love grocery shopping but their pharmacy sucks. Yesterday I was shopping when they announced over the intercom that they had 6 COVID-19 vaccine left and if anyone in the store needing a shot wanted one they should come to the pharmacy. Since I was there and standing right at the pharmacy I decided immediately to get one of the available shots. first she had to find the form then I really don't know what was going on there were 7 people behind the pharmacy but no one seemed to know what was going on. I was able to fill out form with my information call my wife and fill out form with her information she arrived we then still waited for another additional 20 min before the person administrating the shot finally came over to give it to us. Finally we were getting the shot, No wait she needs a vaccine card so then had to leave again to find cards. You would think if they are telling people to come and get that they would be ready to give LoL I am thankful we got our first COVID shot but HEB pharmacy remains in shambles I can only imagine the horror I'm going to have to go through when I have to return for my 2nd dose read more

Everything is better at my H-E-B EXCEPT for this completely unprofessional pharmacy. First, I LOVE HEB, truly no store does more. However, the service (or lack there of) was actually laughable. Perhaps I was delirious from a long day. I typically use the pharmacy at the Hancock Center location, which is great! Tonight, I went to urgent care for my sick Kiddo. This was the closest "trusted" pharmacy at the time. My prescription was called in by urgent care. When I arrived, it was utter chaos. Approximately 12 people in line with scowling expressions. I decided to get my kiddo settled and come back. Upon my return, only three people in line, yet I was in line about 20 minutes. When it was finally my turn, the young man spoke loudly from a few feet away "Did you know that this medicine cost $58.00?!" First of all, hell no I didn't, but it's okay I need it (Tamiflu generic). Although he was well aware of the cost, it still took him over 5 minutes to find it. I simply took a deep breath and shook my head in disbelief. I really hope this was just a bad night. If not, please take some pointers from your Hancock location. read more

If I could give zero stars I would!! I love this HEB store and do 90% of my grocery shopping here, and so it is most convenient for me to pick up my prescriptions here as well. However, almost every time I pick up a prescription here I end up leaving the first time with nothing but frustrated tears. I'm in the system, my insurance has good coverage fortunatly, and I still have constant problems!! I keep hoping it will get better, giving the pharmacy another shot, often even calling ahead to make sure that my script has not only been filled, but filled correctly (which has been a major problem for me in the past). Today I went to pick up a prescription called in by my doctor yesterday and because it was just for an acid reflux medicine I (wrongfully) assumed it would be an easy pick up and choose to go through the drive through. Wrong choose immediately, as I got sandwiched in between cars with no way to change my mind and just walk in, but I literally parked, turned off my car and waited out the 45 minutes it took to get through the 2 cars in front of me (and the 4 in the other lane that went through in the same time) When it was finally my turn, I asked for my prescription and by the number of times the tech had me repeat my information it was clear she was not finding anything in the system. When she asked when I dropped of my script, I told her that my doctor's office had called it in yesterday and she said " Oh well when it comes from a doctors office there is no fill time on it so sometimes it takes a day" as I started to say it has been a full day, she covered her first statement and interjected "or 2" She then informed me that it would be another 35 minutes to an hour if I really "needed" my script tonight. So I drove away empty handed. Again. On most of my prior visits I was trying to pick up prescriptions for birth control which was issued quarterly. Despite having a SPECIFIC generic written on the perception by my Gyno, this HEB would fill my script with a random generic every time. They never read the doctors notes (which is really troublesome, when you HAVE to be on a certain formula) I would even call ahead to verify that it was filled correctly after this had happened to me several times and even after talking to someone on the phone, they script was only filled correctly 50% of the time. It was clear they never bothered to look at the actually boxes that had been labeled for me. This pharmacy's incompetence is going to cause someone serious issues if they continue to fill prescriptions when they feel like it (why would a Doctor call something in and the pharmacist not expect the patient to need it the same day?!?! Where is the logic n that?) or when the ignore the exact prescription the Doctor requested and instead just fill it with whatever makes their lives easiest. It is reckless behavior and makes for terrible customer service. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Not the first time meds have not been ready. If u can FIND ANOTHER pharmacy then do it. We generally love HEB Pharmacy and the store is great but service can tend to be messed up. It takes more than an act of congress to get things done right here. No problem with HEB or there other pharmacies but this one yes. I work in the healthcare industry and have been involved in service industry for years. Esta farmacia no es buena. The worse drive thru line. I have been to this location multiple times, and everything has been torturous. You sit in same spot without any car movement for 20 min plus today. Once you are in the drive thru you are stuck. No way out. They need to have cars circle around if things are not ready, like Walgreens. read more

Couldn't find the actual grocery store to review so I'll bundle it with this. I truly believe this is the HEB all the other stores send their close to or rotten produce/expired food. I've had to bring back 2 red peppers rotted to the core and raspberries with green bugs of some sort swarming over every berry. I challenge you to find an unbruised or WHOLE apple with no fingernail marks, brown holes, etc. It's super close to where I live which is annoying but I stop at other locations whenever I can. No wonder This is such an obese area in Austin, everyone must be living off chips and frozen pizzas and fried because it's easier than searching for a decent piece of produce. Also, can we talk about the parking lot? I am always approached by someone for money who gets WAY too close for comfort and have had someone try to get in my car with me. How about you stick your rent-a-cop that's by the magazines out in the parking lot where stuff actually goes down. I'd love his job, sit there and people watch in air conditioning and probably get free stuff. It's not HEB Plus it's HEB Minus! read more

Worst in Austin period. Over the past two years I've had nothing but trouble getting prescription call in from my doctor filled at this location. From Three different doctors it is nothing but a headache because I always get the standard answer that we did not get the prescription you need to contact your doctor and have them resend it. Now I can understand on doctors office having issues getting electronic send prescriptions but three different ones I don't think so. If HEB system is that out of date then fix it. As for myself I'm transferring over to a different pharmacy. I simply do not have time to constantly be chasing after HEB every thime I have to renew or get a new prescription filled. read more

I've been going to this pharmacy since I moved to the east side and I've never had an issue until the last two days. I recently came down with the flu and needed to pick up some medication. I was told to come back after an hour and then the next day. Okay. I came back to pick up my meds and they asked for my insurance card and to come back in 10 minutes. I came back and they told me it was expired. I called my insurance and they said I should be able to pick up my prescriptions. I drove back up to the window and told them what my pharmacy said. After a few minutes they said they would have my prescription right out. What worries me is that I was almost denied medication. If this happens to you don't give up and go somewhere else. read more

My first time ever using this pharmacy and certainly my last. I waited 15 minutes to even drop off my prescriptions, then informed it will be an hour wait. I specifically requested non generic. When I came back an hour later to pic up my meds the one listed on top was correct but the one on the bottom wasn't and didn't notice until I got home. My fault for assuming the job was done correctly. Come to find out this store doesn't even offer that particular medication in brand name to begin with. I asked the pharmacist why wasn't I informed of this when I dropped my prescriptions off. The only answer I got revolved around the fact that it was my fault, even though the complete lack of knowing how to do ones job rests in their hands. I will never again drop a script off here. So if you're brave enough to, be sure to double check, triple check and quadruple check to make sure they filled your meds correctly! read more
