My experience at this Walgreens location has been different depending on the service personnel. Some have been quick and kind while some have been quite rude. The main drawback is they are always short-staffed so you have to wait a while to pick up a pharmacy or photo order. read more

I give this Walgreens two stars. And it isn't because of the items or cleanliness or anything of the sort. It is strictly because I showed up at 11:10 pm and had to pee really really badly. I had to go so bad I felt like a little kid standing in line to pay because I was doing the literal pee pee dance. It was total crap when i got told their restrooms closed at 10pm. Like im sorry if you see someone in a bind because they failed to plan accordingly just let them use your facilities. I've had two problems in the last 3 days. 1st, they were supposed to deliver my medicine for a bad cough. They didn't do it and I had to call the next day asking for my medicine. The second issue: I called them to have another rescription transferred to this location. When I went to pick up my medication, they had no info that I had called despite leaving the phone and address to the old pharmacy. The service was also very slow. read more

If I could give them zeros stars, I would, but unfortunately that is not possible. I was told my prescription would be ready on the 11th at 11am, it was not, and was delayed another 24 hours. I've never had an issue with the pharmacy staff's attitude (they have always been nice) but I waited in line yesterday for an hour and 30 mins to pick up a prescription that was already delayed. Ridiculous. The inside is out of stock of almost everything, and is ALWAYS understaffed. I feel awful for the few staff that works there. Avoid this location if you can. read more

I went to this Walgreens yesterday around 1:30pm to pick up my prescription. Once inside and walking to the back I noticed the gates closed around the pharmacy. 3 other individuals were sitting in chairs waiting. One of the gentleman waiting told me they were closed for lunch until 2:00. WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN??? My prescription was not needed immediately, but I left remembering those times I was so sick I could barely drive myself to the doctor, and just wanted to get my prescription so I could go back home, take my medicine and crawl in bed! I feel so sad and disheartened that a drugstore that is suppose to give us great care can't figure out how to give lunch breaks in such a manner as to avoid shutting down the pharmacy! This review is for the pharmacy. I've been meaning to write one for a while. I've lived in the neighborhood for 4+ years and have several disabilities. I've never once had a prescription messed up out of my hundreds and the techs and pharmacists are so nice and always so helpful! If you go during busy hours (like lunch or right after work), expect a small wait. It's the only Walgreens for a while in a heavily populated area that's growing quickly - not to mention the influx of workers @ Oracle nearby - so expect a little waiting time. This is literally the worst Walgreens on the planet, specifically the PHARMACY. Every single time I go there it is a terrible experience one way or another. I received a text saying that my prescriptions are ready for pick up and unfortunately I didn't have time to get them until two days later. I go to pick them up and the drive through line looks about 2 hours long (it takes FOREVER when there's barely anyone in line but this time the line was backed up). I decided to leave and come back, when I returned, I waited in the drive through line for 30 minutes and then pharmacist tells me my prescription isn't ready For pick up. When I asked why not they said "because it's on its way from Dallas". First off why would you send me multiple texts and voicemails saying that my prescription is ready for pick up? And second off, why is my prescription coming from Dallas when I live in austin? The pharmacist simply replied "that's just how it goes sometimes". When I asked if they could please just fill my prescription they said "we cant because it's already on its way from Dallas but call us around noon and if it hasn't arrived yet then we will go ahead and fill it" Which means yes they did have the ability to fill it but they simply refused to which required me to come back a THIRD TIME to pick up my prescription. This time I waited in hour in the drive through line. I have a job I don't have time to be driving back and forth from the pharmacy just because the people there are incompetent. Save yourself the headache and do not go here. It is mind blowing how terrible the experience consistently is. Apparently all of the low star reviews are accurate. I've filled my prescriptions with Walgreens for years, have had the same insurance for years, but in transferring my prescriptions to this location, all of a sudden, there's a problem. They can't find my insurance. They've filled the wrong prescription on more than one occasion. And specifically, the pink haired individual in the pharmacy really needs an attitude adjustment. Rude and condescending for no apparent reason aside from clearly disliking their job and wanting to push their bad day off on others. Do better! read more

I don't understand how the pharmacy could be this bad. I usually assume it is an insurance issue when someone takes a long time. I waited in a 40 minute line to pick up three prescriptions they had already notified me they were ready. When I got to the front of the line they couldn't find the Prescriptions they had filled. It took 15 minutes to find them. No insurance issues, no payment was due, they had already processed them, but they couldn't find them. Look, we all know Walgreens is not a grocery store or somewhere that one frequents to buy normal everyday things. It's an establishment founded on convenience. Being my office is roughly a half mile from this place, and close to home, I actually tend to go there quite a bit. I go for miscellaneous items at the office, maybe a quick sixer to celebrate a big deal, and mostly to develop pictures. I've had a number of frustrating experiences in this joint but my most recent fiasco is the straw that broke the camel's back! I will no longer give this Walgreens my business. I spent roughly $55 for some items my team needed for a celebration at the office. In a rush to make it back, I misplaced my receipt. When I went back in two weeks later to ask for assistance in recovering my receipt, I was told by a manager "My management doesn't want me doing that and that's not what I get paid to do." She was the only person who had access to do this, mind you! I let her know how much I frequent the store, how great the location was for the folks who work at and live close to my office, and that I had all the information about the purchase: date, amount, card number, etc. Even with the peripherals, she told me all she could do was give me a couple minutes, anything more than that and she couldn't help me. At the time, there was one other shopper in the store and when the other employee called her over to help me, she appeared to relatively not busy. Long story short, the customer service at this establishment is second and even third to many and I refuse to step foot back in this location. read more

Horrible customer service by the front end cashier Brittani?(sp) I was in a rush However, after assisting the customer in front of me, she immediately became standoffish and looked at me with surprised when I inquired as to where I could find the electronics I was looking for. She also didn't greet me with a smile nor attention to giving exemplary service. She pointed to where the electronics were and as I waited there for assistance, it took her five minutes to call someone over. She eventually came over and opened the case herself and THEN proceeded to engage me about what I was seeking and if I found everything alright. I was in town on tour and I honestly didn't enjoy that welcome - or lack thereof. I doubt I'll be returning to said store again. Corrective action is a must. When needing to speak to someone about refilling a certain prescription because that's the only way to refill it, I get put on hold, someone picks up just to put me back on hold, and the cycle repeats. I came here for a prescription and the line was long as any place is on a Friday night before a holiday weekend. When I got to the front of the pharmacy line, a girl with red hair greeted me and let me say, she was... AMAZING!!! She was so sweet and was very efficient. My prescription was going to take 2 hours to fill and she did it for me while I was waiting for my insurance to go through. Amazing. Brandi is waiting on an elderly man and she is not a customer service person. She's cold and rude. Terrible customer service in pharmacy. I always refill my prescription 2 days before I pick it up and it's never ready when I get there. I've always had to wait 30 min- 1 hour despite it having been over 48 hours since I had placed my refill request. I only use this Pharmacy because it is closest to my house. It would almost be worth it to drive somewhere else. The line and wait is always more than an hour long. The staff is not that friendly and they sometimes seem like they have no idea what's going on. They've list my insurance info before and also my prescription. The female pharmacist with the British (or Australian?) accent (I believe she's Indian) on E. Riverside is hands-down the hardest-working, kindest, most diligent pharmacist I have ever interacted with--and that includes the 19 years I lived in NYC. She truly cares about her clientele and knows A LOT. If all pharmacists were like her, Austinites would be happier and healthier. I hope she is being well-paid. Okay! My patience with the staff at Walgreens at 1920 Riverside in Austin, Texas has run out. This is long complaint. WARNING! Ask for a different pharmacist other than the only and current female pharmacist at that Walgreens at Riverside. I have been going to this Walgreens for four years now. After COVID happened, I noticed the quality of their service went down, but it is down the street and I didn't want to go to the inconvenience of changing pharmacies, so I have stuck it out despite the poor service. Saturday, July 23, 2022, I picked up my medicine and noticed they shorted me. No big deal. I called and was actually surprised I did not have to wait long. In the past, I have been placed on hold two times in a row for over 30 minutes each time. My medication is for a month, so I was expecting three boxes, not one. I asked the pharmacist why. She said, "because that's the way the doctor wrote it." I told her the paper Walgreens provided along with the medication said "take twice for 30 days", meaning I should have 90 not 30. I asked again and she kept saying, "that's what it says." This started a back and forth exchange and with each back and forth, she was growing impatient. I read the directions over and over again to her and she repeated," I am reading what you are reading." I said "3 mg x 30 equals 90 to me. I know I can multiply." She then throws her 8 years of pharmacy school at me, "I went to pharmacy school for 8 years, I should know." That was the turning point. She began getting condescending. I asked her that if my supply says for 30 days, why am I missing so much. "Because that is what it says." My understanding of 3*30=90. On the paper, there was a field for quantity and and another field underneath for directions. The problem is quantity area needed to equal the directions amount and it didn't equal. Apparently, both numbers needed to be the same. However, prior to learning that, I asked if the doctor wrote the prescription wrong to which she replied, "I don't know." I was so confused. I didn't understand enough of the problem to even be able to share the problem with my doctor. Being the highly educated pharmacist she claimed to be, she could have done a better job at explaining the law. Nope, nope, nope. It was more preferable to be condescending, impatient, and rude. I will admit, towards the middle of our conversation, I also got impatient and rude. I even said, "why you have chosen to treat me like an ass is beyond me. If you had said that in the 1st minute I would have understood by law both numbers must match. See, as a customer, I don't know those technicalities. I have been taking this medication for over a year and never ran into this error with Walgreens." Then she had the nerve to say she had been saying that all along. I asked to speak with her supervisor and store manager. None were available and for me to call on Monday. Normally, I could let this go, but at 56, I have never, never, never been talked to like that in a customer service situation. Yes, I have dealt with rude people who should not work among clients, but this was a first. I have even had my medicine thrown at me at the drive thru at CVS, but I could tell the girl didn't mean to. She was young and too busy texting to be bothered with questions. By the end of my experience with Jackie, we were both yelling at each other. I have no problem admitting when I am wrong. My pride isn't so fragile that I can't apologize. I have never had a hard time with apologies. But this was definitely a first for me. I guess I should be so lucky. This pharmacist picked on the wrong person. Not because I have any power or I am all that and a bag of chips, but because I am not about to let this go this time with Walgreens. Yesterday was the straw that broke the camel's back. I will go beyond the store management with this complaint, because it was so over the top. I am certain this bothers me so much, because I have the patience of Job and this was the 1st time in my life I experienced this. I work with constituents and customers everyday. I have for over 30 years. I know how to deal with difficult customers. I once spent 40 minutes with a customer who couldn't understand why her pet chicken couldn't be allowed to board the bus as an emotional support animal. I truly hope this is the only time she has treated a customer like that. I can't imagine her doing that with others. Having a bad day will not fly with me. FYI, be leery of the current and only female pharmacist at Walgreens on Riverside in Austin, Texas in the event she tries that on you. I'm still in shock. I love being on hold for 30 then drive to Walgreens with strep throat to wait in line for 20 minutes because Walgreens continues to be cheap and not hire anymore pharmacy staff. I feel bad for the people currently working there. If you pay people more they'll work for you. Stop being cheap and help your customers and current staff. I always dread having to go to this Walgreens, but it's the closest one to me so I make do. Typically either it's super busy or, worse, I get stuck with Andres at the back pharmacy who is very much a bigot and treats LGBTQIA people like dirt (constantly misgendering people, getting an attitude when we ask questions, rolling their eyes, etc) However, this past time I went, I have to say that I'm very happy that Wes, the pharmacist, really took the time to intervene and make sure that I got the help I needed. After a week of runarounds, Wes finally put a stop to all of it and helped me process my insurance to get the medication I needed. I typically don't write a lot of negative reviews etc because, to be frank, I'm used to people not treating me like a human. So thank you, Wes. Thank you for helping me when I needed it. On july 28, 2020 I (a tall, 20something, skinny, and generally mild mannered black woman) walked in to buy a simple usb cord for my car charger. While i was looking around for where the cords might be, an employee asked me if i needed help in the rudest way I've ever been asked that question. He pointed me to the electronics, and I thanked him, thinking he might just be ready to go home. Understandable. But as i made my way there, i noticed i was being followed and watched by said employe and a tattooed, mean looking female employee who looked like a loss prevention lead or something. Ready to tackle all 130 pounds of me if i so much as looked at anything funny. They were even thorough enough to stay near as i stood in line to check out. Good job protecting a 14 dollar cord guys, hope you get that promotion soon! the guy behind the register was nice enough though, and checked me out while i was mid-anxiety attack so props to him i guess. I ended up buying the wrong cord, but i was so scared to go back in, i ended up just driving off to another store! I would have added another star because the store itself was nice, but i think their racial profiling could use some work. Try and be more discreet next time :) read more
