This was a recent post on the Nextdoor App. A friend of mine told me that a friend's house was just burglarized a few days ago in HB. I'm writing just to remind you all that you MUST keep your high value items in a big super quality safe that is bolted down. These thieves were prepared for anything, they went through all the gates, doors, and opened all of the small safes without a problem. All under 20 minutes. The even more unfortunate part is that, most of what was stolen was not even locked up. This was truly a MAJOR score for these thieves, which unfortunately proves to them that what they do is WORTH THE RISKS! What's happening will never stop unless we stop making it worth it for them. This is no game... This post is not to frighten, but imperative to stay informed. Our best defense against perpetrators is to be aware and safeguard oneself and valuable possessions. I need a 6th star here, 5 isn't enough! We just bought a new house, and a condition of us winning the bid was we had to accept it with a giant gun safe in one of the upstairs bedrooms. We knew getting it out seemed impossible, but if possible, would likely do some damage to our hardwood stairs and cost a fortune. They wore masks, no problems there (we're in a pandemic now - for those reading later). They have an electric dolly (I have never seen before, but it was very cool to watch) that handled the 700lbs safe with ease. One of them made a comment that my safe was on the small size, so I'm assuming they are used to moving much larger equipment. They have a trailer with a hydraulic lift (prob hydraulic - it goes up and down and makes a cool whrrr sound). He gave me a competitive quote and arrange an appointment, the next day, 2 of his guys were here on time, with the professionalism, the equipment and the carefulness. Quality Operation! I contacted Josh in the morning about moving a safe from our home office to our garage. In the process of moving I realized I had forgotten to make arrangements for my gun safe to be moved. I called Heavyweight to schedule an appointment for the next couple of days because of the fast response reviews I had read on here. That phone call was at 11:00am and by 2:00pm the safe was moved into my new location. The mover was so efficient he probably could have done the job without his assistant. They did a great job moving the safe and in a safe manner but it does have me worried about how easily it can be stolen.
