Each morning started with a glass of fresh juice served in nice champagne glasses. Something different was served each day and all of it was delicious, expertly prepared with an elegant presentation that made the experience feel extra special. The common area was equally inviting, offering tea, coffee, and light treats throughout the day, and providing a perfect space to unwind. Service throughout our stay was very good and efficient, with every detail handled seamlessly. I had decided to check out the fall leaves (AKA leaf peeping, a term that will always make me giggle) in New England, and visiting Acadia National Park seemed like the perfect place to do it. I ended up booking this bed and breakfast fairly last minute, but I was luckily able to reserve a room. Sue and Eric are the owners, and they were both quite friendly! I mostly interacted with Sue, and she gave helpful recommendations of places to visit while I was in town. The room was comfortable and well-decorated, and the bed was cozy. The provided breakfast was excellent, and Sue accommodated me on my last day with an earlier mealtime due to the time of my departure. If you're a history buff, you'll love catching up on some of the details about the construction and design of the property, including the quarry from where the stone for the facade came from. Really cool to check out a place built more than a century ago. The rooms we stayed in came equipped with a few modern touches. My husband and I stayed in the Chatswold, with body jets in the shower. My parents went with the Tallyrand and loved the built-in steam room after the weather turned and we got rained out coming back from brunch. The only downside to the room was that the bathroom door didn't shut completely and would swing a little ajar. One perk of a B&B that I always like is the innkeepers' little touches. The one breakfast we did try - scones and huevo rancheros - was absolutely delicious, big kudos to Brad and Nadine for making everything from scratch. I could have eaten five more of the scones. The warm chocolate chip cookies put out every afternoon were also very much welcomed. There were also bananas and cold bottled tap water. Super convenient location - the downtown strip is only a minute away and you're smack dab in between a ton of great restaurants (Havana and Peekytoe are a few steps down, Choco Latte has great muffins and coffee). Cottages have all the amenities of home but getting down to basics. The first day we arrived late so they left cottage door open with lights on & keys on the table. Would highly recommend these cottages. Close enough to Acadia National Park & the busy Bar Harbor City - just 6-8 miles away. They charge everywhere for parking in Bar Harbor so we only went there when we had to. There were many great places to eat without having to go Into the city of Bar Harbor. A lovely group fire pit with great lighting if anyone wanted to sit by the fire. All residents were quiet even though it was at full vacancy which was a common theme at most hotel, motels & resorts.

We stayed on the 3rd floor in the Beehive Suite. It was a bit of a trek going up and down as many times as we did, especially with heavy luggage, but we loved the room and the view!!!! And we never heard a single other guest during our stay. They have a great HVAC system that keeps the third floor very cool. And the bed and pillows were very comfortable. There is a parking space for a car for every room. When we arrived, we got a thorough welcoming from Matt. He showed us on a map some suggestions of where to eat. The inn is an easy walk from the town and about a five minute drive from the entrance to Acadia National Park. We didn't partake in breakfast, but saw many others enjoying it. They have a beautiful deck with plenty of seating, and Adirondack chairs in the yard to enjoy the stars. They keep the lights and music on all night, so no matter when you arrive home, you feel comfortable and safe. The only thing that we missed was access to ice. There is a tiny machine in the breakfast room, but that only makes enough ice for about 3 drinks for the whole place. We had to buy ice at the Circle K every day and keep it in our cooler in the room for our water bottles and cocktails. If you ever travel to Bar Harbor, this is the place to stay!!! Best view ever!!!
