Purchased a brand new heartland RV had problems immediately. Started with the toilet leaking into the ductwork then electrical started then we had issues with the water heater then after just a month or two the ceiling started falling down these things are absolute garbage avoid heartland, RVs, and their associate would absolutely not help. Heartland RV accused of failure to deliver serviceable vehicle Over 250 days in service first year still not back to me as of now. 2022 Heartland Torque toy hauler and Camping world where it is being serviced. Purchased new in spring of 2023. I will NEVER buy another camper period! I am still trying to find an Attorney to help me. No one wants to help as it is in a state where the lemon law does not cover the RVs where they are built (Indiana). Regardless of where you live or bought it you are required to go to their state to file suit. Anyone knows of someone that can help please let me know. I bought a 2024 prowler brand new and its pure garbage! Wish I could give 0 star. Faulty plumbing lead to rotten floors, slide windows leaked, window in backroom leaked. Plumbing under sink leaked. Co monitor went out, microwave went out, recall on stove, fan in bathroom went out, roof to slide had to be repaired from water damage from something that wasn't installed correctly, smoke alarm went out, p trap not installed correctly caused rotting floors. That was within the first year. Now at a year and half, we have more water leaks from somewhere thats caused more damage to floors. DO NOT BUY FROM HEARTLAND!!! Love the layout of my toy hauler but the construction quailty sucks. Brought a brand new Sundance ultralight toy hauler. So far, in three outings, we have had to : reinstall 4 window blind covers...most had fallen to the floor, reinstalled most of the trim, one window that had the weep hole covers not removed , stove tubes not connected,( that caused the whole stove to flame on) the trim around the pull out pulled away from the camper on its 2nd use, propane heater didn't work and wouldn't reset. DO NOT BUY ANY HEARTLAND PRODUCT!!! I purchased a Brand New 2022 5th-wheel Bighorn from Camping World in Martinez, GA. During our first camping trip we discovered ALL the following: Black tank labeled wrong, furnace did not work, water filter was missing (we had no water), neither of the (2) electric fireplaces worked, thermostat did not work, top slide did not work. After a few weeks, one of the living room slides leaked. I have now owned it for 1 year, and ALL 3 slides have rotten roofs!! I have been in contact directly with Heartland for over a month with NO resolution!! I purchased a Heartland because I "thought" it was a solid, well built camper. Trust me...IT IS NOT!!! Plus, they are not willing to fix the rotten roof. I have tried to trade, but have been told by (2) dealerships that they did not want a Heartland product on their lot due to the lack of willingness from the company in regards to repairs. We also have a 2012 Holiday Rambler that we have ZERO issues with...and it's 12 years old! We camp A Lot! So, we are asked often about our camper(s). We had an issue with the heat in our 2021 Milestone 386BH camper and the dealer suggested peeking behind the basement wall. I have never seen a more poorly executed construction project. Ever. This isn't a one off warranty issue. This is a group of people that just don't care. The pictures say more than words. Absolutely do not purchase anything from NJ Camping World or a Heartland Camper. Absolute worst consumer experience I have ever had. We purchased a BRAND NEW Heartland Pioneer travel trailer. We live in MD and purchased in NJ. Once we got it home, there was literally one issue after another. Electrical, flooring, slide roof leaking, to mention a few. We took it up to be fixed, brought it back and nothing was fixed. This happened numerous times. We literally had to cancel 4 family vacations. Four. Every time they said it was good to go...it was not. The worst of the issues was the slide roof leaking. It was leaking so bad it filled a bucket after they said it was fixed. We sent videos of the leaks, called and sent messages daily. We went back and forth for 10 months with these people and it was one excuse after another. Then they just ignored us altogether. It takes up a whole day to get there and back not to mention money in tolls. No return phone calls, lies, etc, etc. We ended up taking it away from NJ Repair shop and took it to Camping World in Hanover PA PA who were able to fix all of it immediately. Many hours off work, alot in tolls, and 4 canceled family trips all because NJ Service has no idea what they are doing. And management does not care. All this took 10 months so there are only 2 months left in the warranty. Oh and to make the story even better, I tried relentlessly to get Heartland to give us a free extended warranty because we were never even able to use the camper (it is now winter). Of course they would not do it. After all we have been thru, neither Camping World or Heartland could care less. Both are in the wrong. Clueless repair shop, uncaring management from CW and Heartland poor quality camper. Stay tuned as I am working on a tick tock video to send out. I purchased a 2022 Pioneer RG 26,and hands down was the worst purchase I have made in my 58 years on this planet! It was built with the cheapest materials known to man,and the quality of craftsmanship is absolutely the worst I've ever seen. I purchased at Camping World in Birch Run,Mi..(the biggest scammers ever) in the winter,packed it up and came to Florida.Everytime I look at this thing I find things wrong,broken or just don't work. Showed us same model camper that was all broken and came for trade and we got a camper already owing us a piece of flooring!!! ( never would have bought it if it was that way) who the hell would buy something new with floor needed!!! Flooring got replaced don't match and coming up already. Also needed a new wall that don't match!!!! Have been waiting for delamination to be repaired almost 14 months!!!!!!!!!!!! It was found on 4/1/22 and still waiting!!!! I bought a 2019 Heartland Wilderness 2500rb on 12/24/2018 took it to Arizona had to replace all the drain pipes they were all cracked. Don't Buy Heartland! They are horrible company with terrible customer care. We bought a brand new camper under a year ago and have nothing but issues with leaks since our first camping trip. They will take their time approving any warranty work, if they approve it all. Currently our camper is in because the seal around the slider is leaking and they are refusing to warranty it, the leak caused major damage and rot. They built a poorly constructed camper, and won't stand by there product. They will do anything to try and get out of warranty repairs. We lost the first 6 weeks of camping last year because they took their time approving the warranty from a factory plumbing issue, now it's been in the shop for close to 5 weeks and nothing has been done. Save yourself and look for a different manufacturer. Heartland is a terrible company that will not stand by their product. read more

Bought our 2021 Bighorn Traveler new on March 31 2021. It has been nothing but trouble since. Anytime something goes wrong it is automatically the customers fault. It started our first trip out with the water heater wired backwards. Plumbing not connected, Cable for tvs never wired and now the icing on the cake the fasteners holding the floor and wall together are broke because screws were over torqued. Then water leaked in so now we have mold and rot. The company accused me of lying about keeping sealant on it when there was never any factory sealant. If only I could go back! read more

Bought a brand new Heartland travel trailer (Covid edition) from Camping World of Colorado Springs in 2021 (my fail). The buying experience was good. The trailer was nice at first. Less than a year later and after using it just a few times, it has many issues. Tried to trade it in, but was given a ridiculous low offer!! Complaint is mainly the crap workmanship of Heartland but since Camping World sold me the trailer and won't make it right, They don't deserve my business anymore either. I give it one star because I can't give it zero!!! I recently purchased a Heartland RoadWarrior used from an individual whom purchased it new. I had had nothing but problems with this rig. First the construction is atrocious. I had come from a Renegade motorhome, which I now wish I had back, but because we started being more stationary, we opted to get a "high end" (as they are advertised, fifth wheel instead. Big mistake. This thing is a PoS. First we had to replace all the waste tank valves because they were leaking. We thought because it had been sitting for a long period. But NOOOOOO when I finally got the belly of the trailer cut open what I found was simply that the original install had been done wrong. They didn't secure the remote cables so they could not be closed. EVER!! No wonder the original guy sold it. And to top it off, because of this, the front black tank had a pyramid in it from the original owner that was years old and we had to hire someone to clean it out. Oh that was after we tried to use it and found out the HARD way that it wasn't working. Then we find out that that the Anderson "never leak" water valve is, yes you guessed it, LEAKING!!! After a little research, I discover that they know this is a problem and that they ALL end up leaking eventually and they have designed a new one made of brass in stead of plastic. Who knew???? Brass is better for pressurized water than plastic? NOOOOO??? You're kidding me?? LOL. So I call email both Anderson and Heartland. Anderson tells me "the quickest fix is to buy another PoS plastic one. Ya Like I'm gonna do that. Heartland tells me, oh this is out of warranty. So what is that? Well they agree to warrantee the valve for 5 years. But NOT from date of original purchase. From date of manufacture. WTF??? This is an RV. It sat one a dealer's lot for 9 months before it was originally purchased. So now its 2 months past the 5 year "manufacture" date. So now I have to purchase this $270 valve myself. This is simply not right. If this were the automobile industry in America, this would have been a recall and all those valves would have been replaces. After all, they DO know they are inferior and failing. So if you have one of these valves, make sure you tell them its broken well before the 5 year "manufacture" mark. I would NEVER buy another Heartland again. They don't provide any detailed information on their trailers either. Just try to find an owners manual for a specific model. They have one owners manual for ALL their RV's. That's just stupid!!!!! read more

I did research and believed that within the price range (under 50k) that Heartlands Mallard model of RV would be our answer to a recreational vehicle. We purchased our unit in July with cash and within a month we had leaks everywhere. My best friend has a Forest River and many others and are quite happy with the units they have bought through the years. I didn't want to spend between 75k and 100k for ours. I wish I had. This is the worst experience in a large vehicle purchase of my life and we have dealt with the worst car dealers in Portland all of our lives. Buyer Beware!!!! I pray someone at Heartland grows a "Heart". Camping World is going to need to really step up to face this growing issue in quality control. To whom it may concern, Prior to purchasing an RV I called several RV repair shops and simply asked them which brands they would recommend to buy based on which ones were the easiest to work on and broke down the least. Heartland was often recommended and the brand we chose to purchase. We shopped around and had to choose between two dealers. We chose Lakeshore RV because they were giving us the same deal on a 2019 as the other dealer was for a 2018. I explained to our agent that we were travel nurses and had two dogs and a parrot. We came up with an agreed upon delivery date. Several weeks later I was informed that the RV would be shipping out several weeks later than agreed upon. She was ultimately able to arrange for a delivery date that worked better for us as it is very difficult to find temporary housing with so many animals.... Hence our choice to purchase an RN. I also discussed with her that we had no experience with RVs and she guaranteed me that the man delivering it would teach us the basics of setting it up and that he had done this many times before. When it arrived the man delivering it informed us that he was in a rush as he had another delivery to make. He had us look over the RV and sign the paper saying it was delivered, as it should be. About 1 minute after he left we found a spot on the back garage where he had clearly hit something yellow. We immediately had him come back to see the damage. He denied that he had done this and said that in the 1 minute he was gone we must have done it. At that point we owned one red car and one black truck and did not yet even own a hitch to move the RV making it impossible for us to have caused that damage. We also asked him to give us a quick walk through of the unit and how to hook it up as I had discussed with April Welch. He chuckled and said he had no idea how to set up an RV and that his job was to deliver it and put the two front legs down to unhitch it from his truck. That was Sunday and we started a new job Monday morning. It took us several days to get the water and electric hooked us and to understand the dump systems. As we were on west coast time and not getting out of work till 5p we were unable to get any help from the dealership. One of our neighbors helped us hook up our water after work one day. Once we did it began spewing water from behind the hook up. We needed to take the entire panel off and tighten all the screws and fittings. We then got calls from our neighbors on two separate days that they had to turn off our water while we were at work because we had water overflowing from the underbelly of the RV. Once we took it all apart again we found that the fitting connecting the hot water heater to the RV wasn't secure and was allowing well over 100 gallons of water to spew into the underbelly of our RV. Next we had a leak in the toilet that cost a couple of hundred dollars to fix and after that our garage AC stopped working in the middle of a New Mexico summer. We then started working with Adam Batson to get the AC fixed. After 2 months of sending him pictures of what we needed fixed several times we finally got the AC delivered. We had the RV repairmen at the RV to fix the AC, slide valves in our dump tanks, and the water selector switch. They quickly noticed they sent us the wrong AC. They called Domedic who told us that if we could get authorization they had a warehouse not far from where we now were in LA and that we could return the old AC and pick up the correct one. We were unable to get Adam to do this because it was 5:00p his time and he couldn't start working on it until at least Monday. We had to wait several weeks and again repetitively sending parts pictures and pictures of bar codes before getting the correct part several months later. Once we got an RV technician to install the new AC he said the old one had stopped working because when it was installed the freeze sensor wasn't in the coil/fins as it should have been causing the compressor to run too long and not shut down when it should and thus shortening the life of the compressor. We had also begun having water leaking from under our sink and had two repair men not know where the leak was coming from. The leak caused all of the wood and wood paneling around the kitchen sink to rot and need to be replaced. After daily calls to Adam and sending him pictures several times we were finally able to get the parts. Then after our move we arrived and the couches in the garages were both flat against the sides of the RV. The metal on the happy jack lifts had bent allowing them to once again fall during our move. I called Adam who told me that Happy Jack would not authorize to replace the part. I got the happy jack information from him. I explained to the man there what had happened and he asked me if there were pins in the couches to secure the couches and prevent them from falling. My husband and I purchased a 3560ss Big country 2017 model. We were having issues with our 5th wheel. We took a tour of the factory in July 2017. We were never more disappointed to find out that they only do random checks of RV's for problems. They should check electrical, sewer, water connections as it's been made to ensure all works like its supposed to. I worked for a missile manufacturer and we tested everything thoroughly to make sure it doesn't fail. The same should be done with these homes considering we live in them day in and day out. Heartland leaves the problems with the dealer to deal with, leaving the purchaser with the headache of waiting to get our RV repaired. Shoddy Shoddy way of doing business. We are currently having an issue with the front slide, the top has tilted out and bottom is tilted in preventing the slide from being pulled in. We are travelling and having to deal with RV repair at a campground. We have 1 more week here sure hope it can be remedied, so we can continue our trip. If the slide can be pulled in at least we can get to Lazydays to get it repaired read more

The RK280 RV has several nice qualities. My wife and I have been rehabbing our house and we have lived int the RV for 5 months with two cats. I like the layout. There are a few issues with the finishes but overall, I wish I could endorse it. Having said that, the company sucks. They don't respond to questions. When the lights stopped working it took weeks for them to respond and that was only because I sent an email every day for weeks. They won't tell you if there are supports for the TV or if the roof is a walk on top or how much weight it can handle. They won't send any kind of diagrams for repair work. When they do finally respond it is with an attitude. They are, by far, the worst RV company that I have ever dealt with. I will never promote them or use them again. read more

After traveling across the country and going out of our way to make Heartland one of our stops to see we can't rate this properly. Me and the wife both we're completely expecting something else when we came to visit the birthplace of our new trailer. We expected a nice park large parking lot with a visitor center, a large hanger style factory building, well maintained areas and we found none of that. Instead it is located off the beaten path on some moderately maintained roads with no clear factory center for a welcome area. We found a faded sign in front of an old construction trailer behind what looks like a double row of fences and you have to just imagine that in the background somewhere the trailers are being built. read more

Worst RV manufacturer ever... we have a Heartland Gateway that literally fell apart driving down the road in Maine this past July. The frame is badly bent and twisted, there is a large crack/hole in the wall on one side and 3 cracks on the other side. The floors and walls are separating. It is no longer safe to tow and is stranded in Maine unusable. We could have been killed towing this or injured someone else on the road. An RV we paid a lot of money for (and still owe money on) was totaled and useless after 3.5 years. Our insurance said it is totaled due to frame failure, but Heartland refuses to do anything to help. Initially they told us to bring the RV to Indiana from Maine so they could inspect it. This was after we already told them it is unsafe to tow. They finally agreed to send an inspector to look at it, but his report was so clearly biased as to take any responsibility off of Heartland. He claimed we hit a tree, which is not true. All they want to do is continue to shift the blame to either us or our insurance company. An RV really should not fall apart after just 3.5 years. A company who cares about their customer and stands behind their product should step up and help when something this out of the ordinary happens. If you're about to spend thousands of $$$ for a new RV you may want to read this. Let me tell you about HEARTLAND! I bought a NEW 2014 Heartland Wilderness last year from Camping World and it is literally falling apart around me. It has leaked grey water since the day I bought it. I have made SIX (6) attempts to get that fixed, 4 of those attempts resulted in repairs being made---which have ALL failed. The shower base is defective resulting in plumbing cracks and Heartland will only replace the plumbing. They keep putting a band-aid on a fracture. The following is an excerpt from the warranty page of my Heartland owner's manual: "Additional components which have been installed in the recreational vehicle, including but not limited to microwave ovens, ranges, refrigerators, leveling jacks, furnaces/heaters, generators, power converters, batteries, and other items not specifically manufactured by Heartland RV, LCC, are warranted by the component manufacturers as detailed in their individual manufacturers warranties, and are not covered by this Limited Warranty Just about every time I towed it somewhere something fell off. Spare tire cover, sewer drain cap, rear bumper end cap, exterior propane coupling for grill, stabilizer jack mounting screws, pull handle for black tank drain valve. These are just the things that fell off. The things that broke or did not work I will hold for another post. Rest assured it is a long list. The following is an excerpt from one of the many e-mails I sent to Heartland regarding the numerous problems I have had with my RV. The responses are from Jim Fenner of Heartland Customer service and follow my numbered issues and are in quotes: 7. on-board water pump does not pick up until appr. 5 gallons in tank-please adjust.--"the fresh tank will sag over time allowing some residual water set at the bottom of the tank; this is common and not a defect." 8. adjust fresh water tank to drain completely when unit is level. --"the fresh tank will sag over time; this is common and not a defect." To those of you reading this post you decide if you want an RV with this "common" characteristic and this kind of "warranty". Do your research, make your own decision and best of luck RV'ing. Heartland makes a lot of brands. If this sounds like sour grapes, that's because it is. I have a $20,000 RV that I can't use and can't get fixed. I have literally about lost my Christianity with Heartland and Camping World...can't decide who I dislike more. I am not a camping rookie. This is my 4th fifth wheel camper. First one was bought used, and last three have been brand new off the dealer's lot. This Heartland Cyclone 4100 King is not only the worst camper I've owned, but the worst purchase in my entire 52 years of living. I rue the day I bought this piece of $#!+. Now I have a 5 year old toy hauler that is worth less than what I owe that has had a leak at the rear a/c (unknown until now) since new that has rotted the plywood on the roof and rainwater is coming in. Poor workmanship, and I'm the one paying the price..........new roof required on a 5 year old camper (MSRP over $100K) that I have had to fix the oven (didn't work when new), fix ice maker line, fix slide out gear box, multiple plumbing leaks (since picked up from the lot), peeling furniture, replaced Chinese crap tires in 1 year.......could go on for days. 2014 Wilderness 28' RV, from Heartland. We have owned several RVs of different makes over the last 25 years. We bought this Heartland Wilderness thinking it would give us years of enjoyment and take us into retirement. This one is by far THE WORST!! Issues from the start. Every time we take it out, another issue comes up, something breaks, something falls out. The trailer wobbles horribly when set up. Johnny Walker RV welded "courtesy" jacks to the middle of the trailer. While Heartland would not come out and say it, as Johnny Walker sells a lot for them.....they hesitated and wanted to know who authorized the welded jacks. They have stood behind Johnny Walker and not us, the customer. The awning broke after only 3 uses, they did replace it, but after much argument from us that we did nothing more than push the button to open it. The trailer has never been stable once set up. However, Heartland does not care. The vent cover liners fell in. The vent screen in the bathroom fell in and will not stay up. The plastic door slides on the screen doors both broke, along with the latches. The metal screen for the hot water heater fell out. The fiberglass has separated and bubbled in multiple places (occurred when only 2 years old). The front seams of the walls to roof have bulged and separated. Just noticed a new separation on another seam during the last couple of months (during winter storage) - which is now leaking inside the trailer. It is only me and my husband, no abuse, just cheaply built. Despite multiple attempts to gain assistance, we finally gave up. The trailer is a horrible investment. It was not cheap, but is built as though we spent $5k, rather than $28k. NEVER buy this product. You will be severely disappointed. Do yourself a favor. Look anywhere, at any RV, besides this one or any built by Heartland. read more

Run as fast as you can!!!!!!! There is no quality control in these 5th, wheels at all. They look good but a lot of problems like some models with shower doors backwards so water can get between the glass and Heartland tells you that it is up to there standard of building ????? Leaks in plumbing because they don't check the fittings. overflow hose missing on fresh water tank so the inclosed belly fills with water and much more. Hope this helps in you when looking for a new 5th wheel. read more

Do not buy any Heartland products, I have been fighting with Heartland for 1 year and 2 months to get the same things fixed. I have been led on to think they may do something but I haven't seen any results. They are all talk. Run away from them as fast as you can! There is no quality control or customer service. My RV is badly damaged and getting worse. Have had to call Attorney General and Better Business Bureau to even get somewhat of a response. Have also just received notice that they want to fix our RV but we would have no living accommodations at the moment to be able to get out of it for a long period of time. Not getting my hopes up anymore. I expect for the battle to continue before its over. read more

Warranty customer service is horrible. They will fight you on any service problems you have. Says it only takes this amount of time in factory line . Sure you don't have to take anything apart to fix it!!! Used it one time and has been in for warranty work 2 months with our service company on everything that was wrong from awful coax for tv and direct tv. Had to drop belly as there were so many crimps in the line. Bathroom door wouldn't stay closed, stereo wouldn't stay on, 55" tv was mounted crooked, found a large screw when we did a walk through at dealership. No one could figure out where it came from. and then traveling home from Michigan to Az and stayed one night.. went to open slide and heard a popping noise. And low and behold another big screw under slide and it tore a large hole in the lineoliem. Refrigerator corners were all very sharp. Said it wasn't their problem. I could go on an on. Been without our new trailer that we purchased end of March from April to well we still don't have it!!!! Rethink heartland is all I can say. Was such a big decision to purchase as we are going full time. Hubby said he would not purchase again! LaMesa told us since we didn't purchase from them we wouldn't be priority on service work!!!! And now the service company who has done all our previous warranty work on our other units will not longer deal with heartland because the battle of trying to get paid for their work. regretfully, in july 2010, we bought a 2011 sundance 3300ck heartland rv! numerous problems every other time we use it!!!!! (ac, heater, jacks, mold in walls from a hole left in the floor, major eletrical problems!!) we've spent hundreds of dollars on repairs!!!!!! the dealership "explore usa" nor "heartland" refuse to get us into a new rv!!!! i would never recommend a hearland rv to anyone!!!!! in fact i would like to try to sell it, but in good conscience would have to tell them in think it is a death trap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
