Doctor, if you are reading this, next time be more cautious on your decision I guess and if you really mess things up please try your best to do the right thing. Maybe not charge the patient 104 dollars for nothing but pain. I visited Dr. Jon D. Libbesmier for endodontic therapy, asking beforehand if he believed the procedure was likely to be successful. He assured me it would be, so I went ahead with it. However, after enduring an hour and a half of intense pressure and discomfort--my jaw was sore from being open too long, and I could barely move my mouth--he informed me that the procedure had failed. This was after his initial confidence that it would work. Despite this failure, he said he would only charge me for the consultation, which my insurance covers at 80%. I thought, "At least it's not costing me too much financially, maybe just $16," and went to the front desk, still in significant pain and unable to speak or think clearly due to the numbing shots. The bill was $58, which confused me, but I was too weak and in too much pain to argue, so I paid it, planning to review the charges later. After a challenging recovery that involved significant pain, medication, and sick days, I discovered that an additional charge for a pulp test was added to my bill. This extra test made the entire consultation not covered by my insurance. As a result, I ended up paying $104 out of pocket, with no treatment done and my tooth in worse condition than before. I consider myself reasonable and am willing to pay for services I receive. All I ask is that the extra charge for the pulp test be removed, and that I only be billed for the consultation fee. However, when I tried to discuss this with the front desk, I was threatened with being sent to collections if I didn't pay. Avoid this dentist's office at all costs. They lack the necessary skills and professionalism, and their services are a complete waste of time and money. The total cost of the endodontic therapy was supposed to be $459 with my insurance, but because they failed the procedure and charged for something I didn't agree, I'm left paying $104 for nothing. It's ridiculous.

I received no call, and called four or five times over the weeks before my appointment asking for an estimate. I was ultimately contacted the day before (at a reasonable time) by Flatirons Endodontics with an estimate. I told them that I still had not received an estimate from my anastheologist, who they said they had contacted each time I called. I finally recieved a call at 7:40pm from my anastheologist with an estimate. Due to receiving these estimates less than 24 hours before my appointment, I was unable to go to my appointment for financial reasons. Overall, I think the staff here are professional and I'm sure they do a great job, but I am not at all happy with the comunication (or lack thereof) I recieved over the month I was working with Flatirons Endodontics. I would avoid seeing Dr. Schubert, though. Dr. Schubert is incredibly condescending, rude, and unfair. If you have dental issues, she explains them to you like you are a moron, or a five-year-old child. Also, if you struggle to get time away from work on a week day, drive 1/2 an hour one way to see a good dentist, miss your exit, and still arrive within the 15-minute grace period of your appointment time (even if it is a 3 hour, important appointment, and the last appointment of the work day.) Dr. Schubert will send you away. She would rather cost one client hours of their work day, and hundreds of dollars, than leave work even one minute past the hour. She seems power driven. I like the other doctors who seem to genuinely care about their patients and their practice. I highly recommend this office as long as you avoid Dr. Schubert.

She was extremely helpful and fast at helping me resolve my issue. It seems there was a misunderstanding about the statement I was asking for and it takes time for insurance companies to square away payments with dental offices. She removed me from their Collection List immediately. Thank God this mis-step won't affect my credit report. My issue has been completely resolved. I paid for my dental services through a payment plan for my wisdom teeth extraction. Almost a year after I had the procedure and finished the payment plan, I received a call that I owed $213 due to my insurance company not covering the anesthesia is what the office told me. I told them please send me a paper bill and I would like to contact my insurance company before I pay it. I have been waiting for the paper bill and have not received any notice from the office. Again, I called and they updated my address, told me the amount has been adjusted to $196 and said the Office Manager would reach out to me. I never received a call from her. Again, I just called the office to see what is the update with receiving the bill and they informed me that they placed the balance in Collection. I have not received any notice from a Collection Agency yet. I never received a due date or even statement notice to see what the amount was for specifically. I am working on my credit and think it is truly unfair that I didn't receive any notice besides a phone call regarding the balance. I have reported this issue to the Better Business Bureau and am still waiting to hear from the Office Manager.

When they make…read moremajor failure after failure, they will sweep it under the rug, lie about options, & take zero accountability. When you make a mistake of being 13 min late, Brandi will take pride in throwing their stone policy book at you & refuse you. Full story: I scheduled an apt with a young gentleman during my last apt in May. Showed up on time for my appointment in Sept & was told I had no appointment scheduled that day or at all & they would not see me. I was extremely frustrated: I woke up early, drove far, & took an hour off work. I was hesitant to reschedule & asked how they make these situations right. The front desk rep said there was nothing they could do, that man who "scheduled" my last apt is no longer working for them, & implied he left them a mess to clean up. I was not happy with this response, & she told me she'd call me back same day after talking to her manager. As expected, I never heard back. A week later I called for an update & was told the manager had been out all week, which conflicts with what I was originally told & felt like a lie to cover, & still didn't excuse the lack of a follow-up call she promised. Brandi (manager) then called, apologized they no-showed me, & said sternly there was nothing more they could do & they "never comp services because it would be insurance fraud." I insisted they make up for my wasted time & explained that in the past I declined an X-ray my insurance didn't cover, & the doctor insisted on taking it & comped it. When I confronted her on her lie to avoid taking accountability, she agreed to talk to her boss & call back by the next day. Again, I received no call back. When I reached out, she said she tried to call & offer a complimentary fluoride treatment. I had no missed calls, but I accepted. I showed up for the rescheduled 7 a.m. appointment 13 minutes late (100% my fault). Brandi refused to let the hygienist see me, saying they need a FULL hour before their 8 a.m. appointment to do a cleaning & flip the room. I own being late, however they had more than 45 minutes before the next patient & still refused to see me for a simple cleaning. Brandi could have been human, taken all the failures I experienced into consideration, & made an exception for me being a mere 13 late. Instead she took delight in hiding behind policy, was snarky during our convos & raised her voice when explaining rules are rules. Stay far away from this office and their orchard office if you value your time and energy.

I was especially happy with how attentive they were with regards to my physical comfort. I'm a complete wimp when it comes to mouth pain, and they did everything possible not to hurt me. The nice lady who worked on me was extremely gentle and careful, and really listened. Everyone's very warm, friendly and professional, and they even worked with me on payment, because I don't have insurance (they also recommended some dental plans that might work for me). Another thing I noticed is that there were several regular patients who also seemed happy to be there. I thought it a good sign that some people have been going there for years, and have an ongoing and friendly relationship with the people who work there. I also like that they have evening appointments. I really can't recommend Dr. Gibbs and company enough. This was the best experience I've ever had at the dentist.

Everyone has gone above and beyond. I definitely feel I'm in good hands and among friends. The office is comfortable, from flowers and books to read. I always had a terrible fear of dental work and though no one likes it, this office does everything possible to keep you comfortable and relaxed. That and great dental care, makes it the only dentist I'll ever go to again.

In response to Barron Family Dental's reply:…read more Before my appointment, I took deliberate steps to confirm that Barron Family Dental was in-network for my specific plan -- Cigna DPPO Advantage. I provided my physical insurance card to your front desk, explicitly asked for verification based on that plan, and was told more than once that your office and the treating provider were in-network. After receiving a significantly higher-than-expected bill, I contacted Cigna directly. During that call -- which occurred shortly after the appointment -- a Cigna representative and I searched their system for Dr. Abigail Nye. At the time, she was not listed under any Cigna network. Not just for my plan -- she simply did not appear in their provider system at all. Now, after the fact, Dr. Nye appears in Cigna's directory -- but only under the Total and Total Plus plan networks. She is still not listed under Cigna DPPO Advantage, which is the plan I have. Yet your office's own PDF -- linked on your website -- explicitly lists "Cigna DPPO Advantage Dentist" under accepted in-network plans. That was part of what influenced my decision to book with your office. The issue here is not just confusion over plan names. It's about negligent misrepresentation. I presented my insurance card, asked your staff to verify network status for my specific plan, and was assured that I was covered. Cigna's billing and coverage records -- both then and now -- do not support that assurance. I was billed at out-of-network rates because the provider was not, and is still not, in-network for my plan. Even if your network affiliations have since changed, that does not retroactively justify what happened at the time of my appointment. Patients have a legal and ethical right to rely on what they're told by a provider's staff when verifying coverage. If I had been informed honestly that the provider wasn't in-network, I would have made a different decision. This situation has caused avoidable financial harm, and I've submitted documentation to the appropriate regulatory authorities. The inconsistency between what your staff communicated, what your website claimed, and what Cigna confirmed is not acceptable. Your website says advantage dentists and I have a ppo advantage plan. Your desk people literally took my card twice and assured me I was covered, intentional or not if it wasn't untrue, that doesn't excuse it from being a point of negligent misrepresentation. This truly is a clear cut small claims case. As well as I have transcripts of the call logs with Cigna dental. Whether or not the dental board wants to waste their time with it is one thing but that doesn't mean that what I'm saying is incorrect. In fact I have a feeling a small claims court would see otherwise.
