My tooth isn't the same nearly two years after a routine filling by Dr. Rena Mollner. She talked throughout the entire procedure, even pausing what she was doing to continue her conversation. As a result I've had nerve pain in my tooth and I'm unable to eat normally with it. Dr. Nate Mollner attempted to pacify me in a follow up visit by telling me this is normal when a filling happens and it happened to him when his Dad did his filling as a kid, since a filling is only a stepping stone before you get more procedures! If this line of reasoning sounds like something you want from your dentist, this is your spot, sounds like it runs in the family. God knows what they're paying to get positive reviews, but I'm sure it's covered by the $300 plastic retainer they sell you. Don't go here!

I will say, the office staff is usually pleasant and easy to talk to, but vary from unhelpful or uncommunicative. I honestly get the impression that between the office staff and hygienists, they have pretty high staff turnover at this office... which usually tells you something. I have never once seen the same hygienist at this office - it's always some different who will often give conflicting advice from the last person I saw, and I don't like not being able to form consistent relationships with someone who takes care of my teeth. The dentist is a pleasant guy, but always seems too busy for me. I have healthy teeth and gums, and at one visit, he popped his head in and said to the hygienist "I know she's due for her exam today, but just come grab me if you see anything concerning, otherwise she's good to go." Sir, I expect a dentist to look in my mouth and do an annual exam EVERY YEAR. I expect you're still gonna bill for that exam, too right? I spoke up and said something and made him do the exam, but that just really rubbed me the wrong way. Secondly, the scheduling is atrocious. You can NEVER schedule your next cleaning exam at your current exam. They call or text you about a month before you're due for your next 6 month exam, and half the time, they still can't schedule you until 2-3 months PAST that time, so I'm really getting dental cleanings every 8-9 months instead of the 6 months that is recommended. It's extremely frustrating. That being said, my husband also goes here, and he has more complicated dental health, and they have always made time for him, and worked well with him and his issues. So that's great. But it just seems like they have more patients than they can handle, and/or only seem to prioritize the more complicated (money-making) patients over the standard oral health situations. I've tried to stick with them for the last 3 years, but I'm just absolutely over it, and want to be seen at a dentist where I can form a relationship with a hygienist and the dentist, and not seem like a nuisance for just needing a cleaning.

To be so I think would warrant different policies. Personally my CPTSD AND TRAUMA were made worse with the pressure and threats this office gives. First they pressure you to make appointments, don't listen to your schedule needs. In my last visit Dr. Dickerson was 20 minutes late for my appointment and then I was treated like there not being enough time to fix my tooth correctly was my fault. I came to feel that offices cannot be both trauma informed and gaslight, threaten and scapegoat the patient. It would benefit the staff to research about narcicism and narcicistic abuse so as to understand the trauma that already exists and what being egotistical maniacs that only seek money creates in society. A dentist shouldn't be so arrogant that they don't take into consideration the thoughts emotions and perspective of their patient. Weve been here for over a year now and they are very sweet and friendly but also professional when it comes to business. At another place they broke my tooth while " trying" to do a routine cleaning and it was a horrible experience. After 3 repairs there the tooth kept breaking so i was suggested to try aspen dental . They took me in , took a good look at the problem and even tho they told me it was a slim chance they tried their best and they saved my tooth! Super grateful for them and i kept my smile! I came to the practice as a transfer from my dentist Dr. Lee. He left the state and his patients were referred to Aspen. I was assigned to Dr. R. I can't comment on the quality of care as this was just a cleaning, but I was mildly surprised when the dentist appeared before the cleaning and not after. I don't know if my 60 plus years of being a dental patient are atypical, but in all that time the dentist always checked out my teeth after the cleaning. OK, so maybe not a big deal. But strange. Worse, however, was Dr. R's chairside manner. Maybe he was in a hurry or having a bad morning. I can't say. However, I was stunned when he appeared, inspected my mouth and left all without as much as a "good morning". He never introduced himself to me!!!!! We had never met. I was new to the practice. Yet, he literally never acknowledged me as a person or a new patient. Honestly, I do not understand the complete breakdown of normal interpersonal skills. I wasn't expecting to swap personal anecdotes or a touchy feely discussion of feelings. However, common courtesy would dictate a greeting and a welcome to the practice. I might give them a second chance but won't give a third one unless things improve. If it were not such a hassle switching dentists, I honestly might not be returning.

I haven't had issues with my teeth or had any issues with different dentists, but since I've…read morestarted seeing them I feel like I've been getting recommendations to do more work than probably is necessary since I've taken very good care of my dental health. They charged me over 500 dollars to get a mouth guard (since I grind at night which is true) that I lost shortly after getting it and tried to get them to make me a replacement immediately after I lost it at a work trip and they said it wouldn't fit and that I would need a whole new set of imprints which is incorrect. I would be skeptical of some of their recommendations. I also had a crown and it did fit correctly and they tried to fit it again and I continued to have pain with my jaw and overall the dentist didn't even come look at personally she just sent me to a specialist and said I "might" need a root canal. Now I might have a unique situation but it doesn't appear that way and this appears to be standard practice so I'll be finding a new dentist. The staff is generally friendly and the office is up to code but, at this point I don't think the dentist has done a competent job and I would not recommend them to any friends or family. Nor do they really seem like they care about the pain my teeth and jaw have been.

I had a crown this morning that was the most comfortable, relaxed, and care forward service I've ever had.. every need was met /exceeded; every comfort was provided; and Dr R's open, responsive, and clear joy in her life and work was very clear... I've been going to Highland Smiles for many years and it's been wonderful to watch the practice evolve to what it is now under Dr R's leadership.. The staff is excellent, well- trained, and caring..
