That part of the experience was genuinely positive. That said, the overall atmosphere made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I later learned the locations are franchised, and I believe the owners may have been present during my visit. Unfortunately, there was very little warmth or friendliness from them. There were no smiles or welcoming gestures, and at times I felt stared at, which made the experience feel awkward and uninviting. I tried to brush it off, took a few photos, and carried on, but the lack of friendliness continued, which left me feeling uneasy. I always try to support local businesses and give thoughtful reviews, so I wanted to share this in the hopes that it's taken as constructive feedback. The drinks and front-line service were great -- I just hope the overall environment can become a bit more welcoming in the future.

Mission Cafe is a diamond in the rough; a gem of a coffee shop recently opened in the Five Corners area of Vancouver. It's nestled in between a daycare and a church in a strip mall... a little incognito as they've yet to put up signage. The interior of the coffee shop is bright and spacious, and smells absolutely wonderful! They brew their coffee with beans locally roasted by K&F Coffee Roasters, the oldest family run specialty roaster in the area. Mission's dedication to excellence shows in the delicious drinks they serve. As the coffee shop is located near a client, I've been fortunate to stop in several times. Even on the rainiest of days, it's all sunshine and smiles in this place. The manager, Jen, is one of the nicest people I've ever met. She's made me a few of her daily specials, and always has suggestions for trying new drinks. Word is they'll be expanding their food menu, but at the moment they offer granola bars, delicious muffin tops, as well as bagels with cream cheese. I love supporting locally-owned businesses, and I encourage others to do the same. We went for the ube with boba and mango with boba, and they have dairy-free options. That's right if you're living the lactose-free life, which means no dairy drama--you too can have pure boba bliss.
