The servers were incredibly attentive and extremely knowledgeable. When it was time for the next course people seemed to appear with food out of nowhere serving everybody at the same time. Kudos for being the best part of this experience! The food was just okay for me. My steak was cooked great but not prepared great leaving gristle and fat that I had to cut around the edges. The circular slab of butter that came on top was just too much, reminding me of all the reasons I don't love wagyu. It just makes everything so rich. The chilled chicken soup was a big miss for all three of us that tried it. When asked how it was the best thing I could come up with was "odd". The overall vibe here is nice, however at this price point I expect excellence and I just don't get that at Gibraltar. This isn't someplace I'd seek out to come back to unfortunately.

Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, we didn't make reservations but even though they were packed they found us a table . Thank you ! You can visualize a bit what the building used to look like many years ago. They have tables all over the building so it feels very large, and most of them were full. The server was very friendly and happy to walk us through the menu, and provide recommendations. It felt wrong to order a burger at a more upscale place, but it sounded good since it had some unique ingredients together. Overall, the flavor mixture was good from the toppings but the meat itself was a little dry, so it put a damper on the overall taste. The person I was with for a pork chop and said it was "alright" but "not special". For the price, I was hoping to be impressed, but I wasn't. The Mac was good, though, as most others have said. Highly recommend that. If I could do half stars I think 3.5 is probably about right, but I'll round up since the service was really great.

I visited as part of a work related event and was able to enjoy both the bar and dining room. The bar selections were first-rate and while not extensive they were well-considered. John Jeffries specializes in local farm to table ingredients. I enjoyed a watercress potato soup followed by the Puedmontese grass-fed petite beef steak. Both were absolutely delicious. The service was first-rate: friendly and attentive without being obnoxious and VERY well-trained to a level you'd expect in a much larger city. The hotel lobby and bar are welcoming and represent entree to this small eatery. This place features local farm items so the menu is always subject to change. We went to celebrate an anniversary (not ours) and it was a nice welcome for the server to offer the celebrants complimentary prosecco. From there, it was an adventure. Three of us had the shrimp and grits, which, uniquely, were not the typical southern dish but an earthy creation featuring very barley forward grits that also included very chunky carrots and other enhancements I am at a loss to identify. Good, but a surprise for my southern shrimp and grits-expecting palate. The shrimp were pretty overcooked and detracted from the barley-enhanced grits. Two enjoyed the wedge salad. For mains, two enjoyed the shrimp bisque, and the pan fried boneless chicken breast. I had the meatloaf and found it to be a bit gamier than expected likely due to using grass fed beef. The mushroom gravy was nice despite some of the mushrooms having gone over the rainbow bridge. The tallow fried potatoes were luscious despite one being undercooked. The desserts were interesting and all supposedly made in-house. I had the mint chocolate chip ice cream which I found somewhat grainy and crystallized and very lacking in mint flavor. The flourless chocolate cake will likely shock you with its petiteness, but trust me, it packs a wallop of richness that will probably satisfy you. The tres leches cake and honey lavender crème brûlée got high marks. Overall we all liked the ambiance, and were somewhat disappointed with the food. 3.5* rounded down to 3*.
