Went here on a whim because I realized my CPR was expiring soon...I got in the same day; one star for that. Price was $55 regardless if you had an active card or where expired, from my previous experiences active was less than first timers and expired persons. The fee covered the three hour class and the book was included; fyi take the book home-you paid for it-most people don't and this business doesn't advertise that. The facility was located in a strip mall at the very end, convenient off a major road and plenty of parking. Go inside the, what a dump....no seriously dirty, filthy, and nothing accommodating to the customers/clients. There is a blue (or who knows the original color) carpet that boosted Warshak stains and gave the place a nice musty odor. I don't typically care about floors of business' but this is where we will be to demonstrate skills, on our knees on this filthy carpet. There was two long rows of hard plastic chairs (like in any waiting room) facing a broken down desk with a flat screen tv plopped on top. There was no tables provided for the "students" to open books, take notes, or place your personal belongings on-yep you guessed it, had to put everything on the nasty floor. So everyone signs in and is provided with a "mouth to mask" valve that is wrapped up in a piece of tissue paper to give the appearance that it is cleaned and sanitized from the pervious person who slobbered all over it. Really... The main instructor is a 40-ish Italian guy; I know he is Italian and only provide this information because he kept referring to himself as an Italian stallion...yeah!! This guy was beyond unprofessional. All the students where women and of course this guys kept flirting with the younger girls....puke! There was a tall blonde and during the baby cpr demonstration he handed her the "dummy" and said, "you can have my baby". She gave an awkward smile and giggle, he then laughed it off and said, "Don't worry we'll get to that later"!!! What a douche bag... Then it's my turn to return demonstrate with him, as I'm doing the infant CPR and he is bagging the "dummy" he asked us to say to each other, "good breath." So I tell him as a demonstration partner, "good breath" he replies, "don't worry you can tell me I'm awesome, go ahead say I'm awesome."(I threw up in my mouth a bit here) Seriously, I didn't come to this mandatory class to be flirted with or hit on. There where two other instructors, another man with sandy blond hair about 5ish and a mid-sized woman in her 50's or so. They came in an out of the class and helped with return demonstrations. The second star goes to the other male instructor, he was professional and patient with everyone. I watched him honestly count and verify the ratios the students where demonstrating. The woman instructor was stoned faced and she was made to aid with two women who where having a bit of trouble with the skills. This woman instructor was a beast, she was rude and impatient to these two women; which just made them very nervous and mentally they shut down. The class had to wait for a bit until these two women where able to successfully demonstrate the skill, then we can move on. The woman instructor only had to work with them while everyone else circulated with the two male instructors. I was done first, which let me to watch the two women and this female instructor. The instructor kept telling the women, "now what do you do, no...no that's not right, think again...no..no stop and think about it..now what, now what...why are you doing that...wrong, wrong again..." How is any of these responses helping these two ladies who are now feeling dump and incompetent. She should have taken the time to individually walk each one through it and teach them, reinforce the lesson. Instead she stood there standing above these two women who are kneeling on the nasty carpet trying to get it right so the class can move on. I felt sorry for them and was not impressed at all with this woman who should have kept her negative, impatient, and unprofessional self home. This instructor wasted everyone's time not the two women. The class lasted the entire three hours...I have been CPR certified for over 20 years, so I have taken at least ten classes; and I have never had to stay for the entire three hours. The class did every basic instruction my other experiences have provided, along with the AHA videos; which would have been nice to hear if it weren't from the talking and office employees laughing and joking over it the video volume. Each time a video was put on, the Italian stallion would walk out and go to the back office, where the other employees where laughing and talking, then we would wait for him to come back after the video finished. There was one break for 5-7 minutes, the water cooler had no cups provided, there is Moral to this story, I would recommend utilizing your employers resources or finding another place to take this course. read more

I attended the BLS recertification class today with Scott K. From the registration process to attending the actual class, I have to say this is the best CPR class I have EVER attended, and this will be my 14th BLS CPR class. My original class time/date had to be changed, and I was notified immediately by Gennifer F., and was able to easily change the class to a time and date convenient to my schedule online through Gennifer. Seamless process. There were also two other instructors that assisted Scott; Clay K, and another woman whose name I unfortunately did not get. All were excellent. Scott kept the class interesting and injected quite a bit of humor into the class, which I really appreciated. No one likes to have to take this class, but I after today's experience, I will definitely be returning to Heart Savers to receive my re-certification. read more

I took the CPR Pro class at the Glendale location and I thought it was the best CPR class I've ever taken! The instructors, Chuck and Mike were very informative, friendly, approachable, and professional. Chuck made the class laugh with his sense of humor and he was direct, and answered all of my questions. I feel so much more confident and prepared if I am faced with a life threatening situation. I will be going back when I need to renew CPR or for any other classes they offer in the future. read more

I had an amazing instructor! Worth every penny! He kept the class moving with his real life scenarios and I don't think I'll ever forget the difference between a heart attack and cardiac arrest! The CPR and First Aid instructor (Jen) had a great personality and was very knowledgeable. She was also very direct and patient with some of the students whom I found to be either offensive or annoying. What I did not like was the direct mouth to mannequin action. I've heard that in other classes, more protection is offered (some type of sheet separates your mouth from the mannequin. Yes, this is partly me just being a germaphobe, but also the fact that most of the people in the class were coughing and seemed very ill. So, they put their mouths on the mannequins, and then directly afterward, I wipe off the mannequin's mouth with alcohol and place mine smack dab on the same spot. So gross. But other than the gross factor, the class was great! Update 3 days after class: Guess who's sick? That's right, this girl! read more

As a nurse for over 20 years, I have been through my share of redundant classes. Fortunately, these guys make it easy and fun. I was a little nervous about taking the in-person portion of my First Aid/CPR course during the covid pandemic, and was grateful that the lion's share of the course was available for completion online, complete with simulated chest compressions and rescue breathing. When we arrived at the facility and saw the set-up, I felt much better. The team was ultra-conscious of masking and social distancing, with a very small group of students. The chairs were spaced with ample distance between them, and the mannequins were already in place with a good distance between them. The rescue breathing was simulated and activities in which people are typically paired together (such as for choking rescue) were only simulated. The two-person portion of CPR using an AED was set up with two mannequins so that students were not close together. The trainer moved people through quickly and efficiently so that the time spent indoors was very limited. read more

I was looking online for a reasonable easy to fit in my schedule CPR/first aid class. I couldn't do Saturdays like a lot we're offering. And some were so expensive. A friend suggested heart savers and it was great!! I dreaded the long 5 hours, but Franco made it home by quick and painless. Great teaching style to help remember, kept me awake and engaged. I an so glad I found heart savers. Plus the cost is much more reasonable from other companies. read more

Franco was FANTASTIC! I have been to several CPR trainings in the past, but he really drilled it into my brain in a fun way. Then everyone at the training was able to practice on a manican of their own. That really made it real. I feel prepared and less scared. I feel I also know how to use the AED. It was really long class but our instructor made it really fun and interesting. Pay online and save time. It was a descent price. The class was full. No need to bring any paper maybe a pen but they have handouts. Ladies wear shorts or pants you will be getting on the floor doing compressions on a dummy. read more

It was my first time taking cpr/first aid at heartsavers, i absolutely loves the class and training. My instructer was Tim, he made the class fun and enjoyably pleasant. I have taken other classes and they were all boring and did not really learn anything. i absolutely recomend heart savers for all your life saving training. I could not beleive all the important information i was lacking, Tim really teached me alot of new important imformation. Tonight was my first CPR class and I am so glad I took it here. My instructor was really funny and made the class more interesting. One guy came in a little late and he was totally chill about it. I also really liked how he called us by our first names within minutes of the class. The actual class began with him explaining a pamphlet and instructing us on how to do CPR, etc. And then we finished class by splitting up with the adult dummies and the babies. I just renewed my CPR certification through Heartsavers this past Saturday at the Greenway/26th St location. I am a Licensed and Nationally Certified Therapeutic Massage Therapist. This is the third time I have done my CPR class with Heartsavers, and Mike Camden was the instructor. THIS WAS THE BEST CLASS EVER!!! The instructors in the past were good, but goofed around a lot while teaching. Mike, on the other hand, was extremely thorough and knowledgeable. The only time he wasn't talking was during our break. And when it came time for us to do our hands-on on the mannequins and babies, Mike was right there and diligently watching to make sure each of us understood what we were doing and that we were performing the CPR, rescue breathing and choking properly. The three hours just flew by!!! Thank you, Mike, for your knowledge and teaching skills!!! I hope that when I have to renew my CPR certification again in two years, I will be fortunate enough to have you as my instructor!!! read more
