It was one of the best decisions we made during planning! We worked with Christine Nguyen starting ~2 months in advance of the wedding. She met with us weekly to lock in our details (most notably, a super tight and clear timeline). We had everything so well planned (thanks to Christine) that our last few months leading up to the wedding were waaaay more relaxed than we would have anticipated. On the day of, Christine and her assistant Jane were on top of everything! I don't think I batted an eyelash the whole day because they were hustling so hard behind the scenes to make everything feel totally smooth for us. On tope of the incredible execution, it's worth noting that we felt Christine's genuine excitement for us all throughout the process. This was really great because she really took the weight off of our shoulders, and she pulled off a beautiful, personal, seamless ceremony that was the perfect length. She took all of our requests to heart and worked diligently to craft a ceremony that was unique to us, and reflected our personalities and our personal beliefs. She is astute when it comes to personalization, and I very much believe she is a great officiant for any couple who is having a secular or spiritual ceremony. It may be helpful to know that Kathy is an ordained minister, giving her the authority to officially marry people, but she is not affiliated with any specific religious group. As a non-religious minister, she handled our secular wedding ceremony very gracefully. What our wedding may have (purposefully) lacked in religiousity, it made up for it in beauty and sincerity. I highly recommend Kathy to anyone seeking a wedding officiant, especially those who want a non-religious ceremony. It should go without saying, but she's definitely LGBTQ-friendly too!

I was married last month, and my partner and I are STILL talking about what an amazing job Erica…read moredid. In all honesty, we only hired an event coordinator because our venue required it. We were foolish and we didn't know what an outrageous task planning a wedding is. We wanted things a little different than a traditional wedding, and Erica executed so seamlessly that we sometimes forget that the bride and groom walking down the aisle together was anything other than the way it's always been done. Everything felt really natural and nothing was "put on". We had to think about nothing during that day. About an hour before the wedding, I had a friend drop cookies off and cookie sleeves (they were the guest favors and had not yet been assembled. I forgot to "assign" that to someone). A few hours later - right in the middle of cocktail hour - I turned to Erica and quietly gasped, "THE COOKIES." She just smiled and let me know that her and her assistant, Esmeralda, found the cookies, sleeved the cookies, and displayed the cookies. God, she's so good. There were more instances than I care to relay on this platform, but just trust, she does what needs doing and requires no oversight. Guests were even commenting on how well coordinated everything was, and a few people asked for her card. The final touches were not to be believed. Beautiful card on our hotel suite nightstand along with a gift, the room that the bridal party got ready in, including groom and best man, (which looked like a bridal bomb had exploded - flower stems, crumpled notes to each other, makeup everywhere, pajamas and shoes, a left-on curling iron) had been organized, rented chargers had been rinsed and placed in our room, even the last 4 sad remaining flip flops from a basket of 50 had been returned to our room. Just in case. Erica snapped a few candid photos of my MOH doing my makeup and my grandmother and I dancing to the last song of the night. Totally unprompted, and totally appreciated. Erica took charge and coordinated all the vendors from hair, makeup, catering, DJ, etc. There were a few unexpected things come up before the wedding and Erica helped get them taken care of with our venue and caterer. Early on in our engagement, my husband and I were ambivalent on the idea of hiring a wedding planner. We had already chosen several of our main vendors and thought we could save money and handle planning our wedding on our own but we were mistaken.  We were soon overwhelmed with all the details and started to have decision-making fatigue so we decided to look for a wedding planner. After quite a bit of research we chose Justina/JL Events and we are so grateful we did! Her services were definitely worth the investment. We highly recommend Justina for wedding planning and coordination. She is professional but personable, trustworthy, and very easy to work with. She had great communication from the start and all throughout the preparation for our big day; her responsiveness was amazing. During our first meeting, Justina quickly identified our needs and vision and created a detailed timeline for our wedding planning. She helped us narrow down design choices and accompanied us to meetings with vendors. We were impressed by her organization and proactive approach! Having Justina as our planner helped alleviate much of the stress that comes with planning a large wedding (we had about 260 guests.) There were several instances in which we were frustrated dealing with unresponsive vendors but Justina was great at facilitating communication and even helped us find better companies to work with. Justina helped us stay on track during rehearsal day and was an expert problem-solver. She coordinated with our vendors and the staff at Casa Real with ease and was patient with us and our large wedding entourage. On the day of our wedding, Justina and her assistant Dana took such great care of us and we were able to enjoy our wedding celebration! She is not only detail oriented, responsive, organized, and professional, but she is also thoughtful and personable. She even helped save us money on not going into over-time with our wedding venue! She also saved our wedding timeline (we initially had an early start time for our ceremony because we thought sunset photos were always taken afterwards, but she helped us move things around and coordinated with our photographer to really make our timeline better and more efiicient)! From the first call, Tejel and I clicked & it felt like a huge weight was lifted immediately. To name a few of the many key aspects: we wanted a destination wedding, so Tejel suggested venues that fit our criteria. She then worked with us to find our DJ & priest, coordinating calls, helping negotiate pricing, and reviewing critical details. She reviewed our venue contracts, travel agency contracts, and other vendor contracts so that we didn't miss important items or flags. Tejel created timelines immediately, sending us the to-do lists & spreadsheets that would keep us organized in the months to come. During our scheduled calls, we went over next steps, action items, ideas, and more. Tejel was always handling the emails to the venue and our onsite coordinators, keeping us on copy, so knowing she had visibility + would initiate responses took a HUGE weight from our shoulders. She knew our budget and constraints, but also knew where we'd be flexible and her insight was invaluable! On-site Process: Tejel + her assistant made sure EACH event went off without a hitch. She worked with our on-site coordinators and teams to go through the sites, suggest placements for all items, and bring our vision to life.
