The menu included delicious combos but customizations were possible. Reasonably priced. Some indoor seating. Would definitely return!

Since I knew I would be waiting, I politely asked if I could use the restroom. I was told no. I initially assumed there had been a misunderstanding, so I explained that I wasn't a random passerby looking for a public restroom. I was there to pick up an active DoorDash order and would be waiting while they finished preparing it. Unlike employees who have a workplace with designated break areas and restroom access, delivery drivers spend their entire workday on the road. We don't have a home base to return to between orders. Because of that, we often rely on the basic courtesy of restaurants and businesses we partner with while conducting pickups and deliveries. Most businesses understand this and treat drivers respectfully. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. What happened next was what bothered me most. Rather than simply explaining their policy and treating me with basic courtesy, the employees largely stopped engaging with me altogether. They avoided eye contact, ignored my attempts to communicate, and acted as though I wasn't standing there. It was an incredibly dehumanizing experience. After waiting several more minutes, I said, "I could have been done by now." The only response I received was, "It's not for the public." I again explained that I was there for an active pickup and was waiting on an order that still wasn't ready. Once again, I was met with silence. To be clear, I completely understand that businesses located on busy commercial streets cannot allow every random person who walks in off the street to use their restroom. That's not what this situation was. I was there performing a service directly connected to their business. DoorDash drivers are part of the fulfillment process that allows restaurants to participate in DoorDash, reach additional customers, and generate revenue from delivery orders. I wasn't asking for special treatment--just the basic courtesy of using the restroom while waiting on an order that they were still preparing. What makes this even more frustrating is that if the order had been ready when I arrived, I would have already been gone. The only reason I was standing there waiting was because of the restaurant's delay. At that point, I decided to unassign myself from the order, even though it was a high-paying delivery. If a business is unwilling to show basic respect to the drivers helping deliver its orders, then it can find someone else to complete those deliveries. I will also be reporting this experience to DoorDash so they are aware of how drivers are being treated at this location. To fellow Dashers: I strongly encourage you to decline orders from this establishment and spend your time supporting businesses that treat delivery drivers with professionalism and basic human dignity. To potential customers: please consider whether this is the kind of business you want to support. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, including the people helping get your food to your door.

The cashier was not very kind and rolled her eyes when I asked her to repeat herself (I couldn't hear through the mask and plexiglass). I work in customer service, so I always make it a point to be VERY kind to the workers--especially women, who are taught to be apologetic! However, it was a challenge when she also told me they weren't making milkshakes that day. She said, "No. We're not doing those," and proceeded to roll her eyes again. It's not about what you say--it's about HOW you say it. Additionally, the service took a long time. I felt really bad for the cashier because she was the only one working, which meant my order took about 20 minutes to make. She was balancing two other transactions as well... I remained patient but left feeling a little disrespected. I completely understand the pain & stress of being in customer service, but you shouldn't take it out on others. Maybe she was just having a bad day, but I was hurt by her demeanor (I felt like I had to apologize just for being there). Anyways, the bowl was yummy and filling, so it boosted my mood immediately. I got the U-N-I-T-Y bowl and ate it outside. Very refreshing! I also got a banana smoothie. It was pretty bland, but luckily I was full from the açaí bowl. I would come here again. Now that I know the vibe, it's no big deal!

So our friends kept telling us about Banana Brazil, but I had been hesitant because it's pay per pound, instead of a full service buffet. But having visited today, the math checks out - Banana Brazil is a STEAL. Let's start off with the obvious - the location is rough and parking is terrible. But after jaywalking, my friends and I walked in to a shabby-looking hole in the wall. To the left are paper plates (for eat-in) and aluminum plates (for to-go). Don't worry that there's no covers, they'll put it on for you at the cashier. It's buffet-style, pick whatever, just know you're paying per pound. All I got was rice because the main event is the steak. Loads of choices, sliced to bite size pieces. I got the top sirloin and garlic beef. My plate and a canned mango drink came to about $18. When you stop to compare this to a fancy churrasco, you're really just cutting to the chase. You're not waiting for the top sirloin to come to you to eat a few slices, then wait a couple of minutes for another dish to come by. At Banana Brazil, get all you want and eat - it's that simple. I will be back - and loading up $50 worth of meat next time!

The main…read morebuffet line they have out is $11.49 a pound, and then the meat behind the counter is $16.49. I took about a pound and a half from the buffet of the beef stew, chicken, rice, plantains, and tomato salad, and a cheese ball. Then I ordered separately the meat behind the counter. The more expensive meat that was supposed to be medium rare was incredibly gamy, hard to swallow and quite under seasoned. Not good at all. That was a waste. The beef stew was also under seasoned, the sauce lacked flavor, and taste. This was softer, it was fine meat but nothing that should be restaurant grade. The rice resembled a sea. Someone dumped way too much salt in, it was dreadful. The tomato salad was not salted, and had no dressing, a lackluster item. The plantains were not crisp as they should be. The cheese bread ball, a cheese flavored rock. Worthless. Lastly to the chicken which was the brightest spot, it was nice and soft and juicy, perhaps the only good thing on that whole buffet line. And this didnt come close to cutting it for me. As if I wanted more I would have to keep on paying and I was already $30 down. I never intended to spend so much. The pricing seems fair but once you start eating, you will go though plates and have to stop yourself before the bill is in the $40 plus dollar range. It makes no sense why they charge per pound and not just do one charge and it be ayce. Charging 11.49 for rice or beans, at 11.49 at the same price as the beef stew is ridiculous. The sauces that they have also are all mass produced processed junk. They didn't taste fresh. Terrible waste of money, won't be back find literally any other restaurant to go to. Another thing, this restaurant had flags around there store, I believe for the world cup, you would think this is fine and dandy however in the front of the store a freaking NORTH KOREA flag was hung up, and get this, it went right next to a Russia, China & Iran flag!!! This is a massive naivety, even though I don't believe it was deliberate it is unacceptable.

Gopuff is a heartless corporation!…read more here's what I asked customer service: "I'm an injured survivor, of the Boston Marathon bombing, living with brain injury. I forgot to use code HAILMARY at checkout to redeem $20 cashback. Please, credit my account $20 cash back. (As soon as the order arrived, and I realized my mistake, I asked customer service to credit my account $20 cash back.) The response: "I understand how frustrating it feels to miss out on a limited-time offer, especially when you were looking forward to that $20 cashback. Promo codes do have specific terms... and unfortunately, they can't be applied after an order is placed. I know that's not the answer you were hoping for, but I'm here if you have any other questions or if there's anything else I can do to help with your Gopuff experience." I wasted a half an hour back-and-forth with customer support, trying to get them to behave rationally, as if I am a real person. I have brain injury and made a mistake. Is Gopuff's policy so lacking and inclusivity that it cannot credit me the $20 to my account for an order I just placed and forgot to use the code because I have brain injury? YES. THE DEAL: there are lots of choices for the best Boston home delivery. Use another delivery service.
