The cashier was not very kind and rolled her eyes when I asked her to repeat herself (I couldn't hear through the mask and plexiglass). I work in customer service, so I always make it a point to be VERY kind to the workers--especially women, who are taught to be apologetic! However, it was a challenge when she also told me they weren't making milkshakes that day. She said, "No. We're not doing those," and proceeded to roll her eyes again. It's not about what you say--it's about HOW you say it. Additionally, the service took a long time. I felt really bad for the cashier because she was the only one working, which meant my order took about 20 minutes to make. She was balancing two other transactions as well... I remained patient but left feeling a little disrespected. I completely understand the pain & stress of being in customer service, but you shouldn't take it out on others. Maybe she was just having a bad day, but I was hurt by her demeanor (I felt like I had to apologize just for being there). Anyways, the bowl was yummy and filling, so it boosted my mood immediately. I got the U-N-I-T-Y bowl and ate it outside. Very refreshing! I also got a banana smoothie. It was pretty bland, but luckily I was full from the açaí bowl. I would come here again. Now that I know the vibe, it's no big deal!

The restaurant has a no-frills, relaxed atmosphere, with an eclectic mix of plants and the faint scent of incense in the air. It feels like Koncrete Gardens functions as a takeout spot by day and an event space by night--there were flyers scattered around advertising paint nights and other activities. I tried the salmon patty and a tuna sandwich. The sandwich was solid--simple, homemade-style food. The salmon patty was spicy and flavorful, though I'm not sure if it's made in-house. Either way, both dishes hit the spot. It's always great to support a local business owner chasing their dream. If you're in the area, stop in for a smoothie, a patty, or one of the specials on the chalkboard menu. Give Deano a shot!

The visits started out pretty good as we were a group of 12 coming into their establishment to start their day and we were their first clients. To walk in we expressed that we understood that only one person was working and that the timing may be a little bit slower due to the fact that she was the only one there. We put our orders in and slowly started seeing other clients of theirs come in the door and place orders. We could tell that some may have been online but let's remember that we walked in as they were opening. We waited an hour and 35 minutes to get paninis and smoothies and started noticing the people that had come in behind us and online orders were getting their food before us. We went to the front counter to ask, "Why are people getting their orders before us?" and we expressed that it was because they placed their orders online and that online orders had their own process. We were unable to accept this as we were their first clients of the day. We waited an hour and a half and people behind us and all non-orders were receiving their food before us. This was not just about the customer service and speed at which we received our order. We ordered a banana and peanut butter panini and two apple and cheese paninis, of which the bread was dry. There were barely any ingredients on the sandwich and it just did not taste good at all. This may be my first time saying I do not recommend a restaurant but this time I must say it. I can say the establishment was clean. It's an open kitchen where you can see the restaurant. They had games for kids to play and the ingredients seem to be fresh. I just spoke with the owner and got a better understanding of what happened. While I won't adjust what was said I will say the due to the fresh ingredients, situational challenges and promptness of reply of the owner, I will adjust my review as to not hurt this local small business. The owner was courteous, understanding and apologetic. She gave a detailed answer as to what happened and how they plan to improve.

(Straight Lines) Sweetwater Salad Bar made a bad experience "good" today when they pivoted and made a great customer service decision. They have a deep menu with all sorts of customizable Smoothies, three kinds of toasts, and Wraps. We went for lunch today and decided on a "to go" order of their Avocado Toast. We paid our $5.84 and waited for the order to be assembled. After a few minutes, a manager approached us to say they couldn't make the avocado toast because they had run out of bread. Now... since you can't really make an Avocado Toast, Peanut Butter Banana Toast, or Hummus Toast without toast, and you can't really make toast without bread, we understood why they couldn't give us the order we had already paid for. But they made things right by offering us something else, so we opted for a chicken quesadilla which we received for no additional charge. The quesadilla was good with a nice mix of chicken and cheese. IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES Obviously, inventory management comes to mind, and if they run out of bread, that information should be conveyed to the entire staff so everyone is on the same page about what is and is not available, what can and cannot be made, and what should and should not be paid for.
