I've been grabbing lunch from Juiced Up for a while. I love that they're relatively affordable, accessible, and everything is so good and fresh. The vibes are always right from the staff and they're pretty conversational if they have the time. They have a counter towards the window if you can't resist a bite before you head out, but they're pretty much take out. Parking is tough so it's right on Asylum but people tend to just double park and run in. I really like their grilled salmon stir-fry! As a heads up, there's no rice but the broccoli and cauliflower are sautéed well in a sauce that tastes like Cole slaw. The salmon is crispy without the dryness and perfectly seasoned. The rainforest smoothie is a little taste of the tropics with mango, pineapple, and watermelon. The large is more than enough. read more

In my search of improved health, I stopped here on my break. I walked in and I was instantly greeted by 3 friendly people behind the counter. Having never visited, they provided recommendations and samples. I decided to make a banana, cucumber, pineapple, mango, and spirulina juice. It was a short wait but still worth it! I like supporting local businesses and it's rare nowadays to find a place that makes items to order instead of making a bunch of things in advance and having them waiting to be ordered. You have to anticipate that you may be waiting a little while for your order, but the reward is fresh, healthy ingredients squeezed/blended for your drink/smoothie on the spot. I placed an order for 7 drinks so it took a while, but it was well worth it! Not many places take the effort to choose quality ingredients and make something exactly as you want it, so if you appreciate personalized drinks this is your spot! We arrived around 11am on a Monday morning. There was a steady stream of customers. I had the best Irish Moss smoothie ever here. I could taste the perfect blend of oats, banana, nutmeg and cinnamon. My family enjoyed the Refresher and Peanut Punch. The star of the show is definitely the jerk chicken wrap. Checking out this place during my lunch break was a nice adventure from the walls of my cubicle. It was a nice walk enjoying the nice weather while getting something light and refreshing to drink. I had the veteran, a fruit smoothie with nothing more than the fruits like strawberry and pineapple and the juices that came out of it. The drink was cold without ice watering it down which is nice. The prices are a little high but expected for downtown Hartford and I was waiting for a little bit as there seems to be only one person working on the drinks, another filling cups and a third taking orders while a fourth in the back is making wraps for lunches. I can only imagine if I was waiting that long for a drink, I wouldn't come here for a drink during the busy hour of noon. Maybe order here and then get a lunch order across the street and see who finishes first. The set up is decent, hightop with stools and a couch because you will eventually sit down waiting for your drink. With a lot of other drink choices at other stores and possibly faster service, this place can fall behind. read more

I am really sad because I've ordered from this place one other time through Uber Eats and got a delicious smoothie. **This is the only reason why I'm giving this review two stars instead of one.** I ordered a tuna wrap from this place through Uber Eats app. In the app the wrap is advertised as coming with Romaine lettuce, kale, spinach, tomato, onions, peppers, honey mustard, cheese, and mayo (see my photo). I asked for no mustard. The wrap that was delivered to me only had shredded lettuce, tuna, cheese, and mayo. I called the restaurant to let them know that what I got is not what was advertised. They indicated they would contact Uber Eats to correct this, but did not offer me any kind of refund or delivery of the wrap I thought I was getting. I was really disappointed in this response. I decided to eat the wrap anyway. However, two bites in, I discovered a flea (see photo). Because of the poor response I got when I called them the first time, I did not bother calling them again to report this. I reported it in the Uber Eats app and threw out the wrap. Super disappointed with this place and hopefully they can use this review to improve their processes for these situations in the future. read more

I love this place for a quick healthy lunch. I love their salad options. I'm always trying a new diet or lifestyle so I really like that they offer healthy natural options. Recently I walked back to my place after picking up my wrap and dug in, only to realize that they had given me the wrong order. It was a salmon wrap. Seeing that I had already bitten into it, I just finished eating it. And now I've been converted to the salmon wrap. It is excellent and pretty healthy as well. I love this place. They have amazing drinks but also amazing salads and wraps. The "Cold Remedy" juice is great when you want to cure a cold (saved me multiple times). Definitely recommend for everyone to try. My only complaint is that I wish the space was a little bigger and that I could sit down and eat, rather than grab and go. First off, the smoothies are amazing. They use fresh fruit and a juicer!! The service was a bit slow. There was only worker and he had to manage taking the orders, making it and cashier. It seemed there was only one machine to juice and one blender. The process seemed like he had to juice, drain any pieces then added it to the blender to mix. However, it was the first day they were open for business. There wasn't even tables set there. It must be in the works on making it grew. The owner who was also working the juicer and register was extremely friendly and willing to make adjustments as anyone needed. I went with the High BP which was fantastic. It's pretty simple but well balanced with the ingredients which is important when adding ginger to anything. There are also meal options such as salads and wraps. I grabbed a salmon wrap on wheat with no mayo. The salmon was UNBELIEVABLY good. Came out of nowhere. A juice and sandwich shop with a bomb salmon wrap. Wish I had a spot like this back in DFW. THIS IS ONE OF THE WORST BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES I HAVE EVER VISITED. THEIR JUICE IS NOT THAT GOOD AS THE INGREDIENTS SEPRATE AS SOON AS HE MAKES THEM! I love the salads here and all the juices I've tried have been delicious. The stir frys are also good. The service is pretty quick and friendly enough. My one complaint is that on a few occasions I seem to have received jerk salmon instead of regular, which I actually hate. I would love to see them get on board with reducing waste.
