I booked my appointment by phone and explicitly stated that I am a Black woman with textured hair. I was informed the blow dry service would be $85 as long as it did not exceed an hour and a half. Upon arrival, there was only one stylist, who had ample time to assess my hair and discuss expectations. However, there was little to no consultation and minimal communication throughout the service. For context, I previously worked at a blow dry bar and am familiar with standard industry practices. A blow dry service--especially for textured hair--includes washing, conditioning, blow-drying, and finishing with hot tools (such as a flat iron) to ensure the hair is fully smooth and polished. When my appointment ended, my hair was left voluminous, frizzy, and clearly unfinished. No hot tools were used. I was told this was the end of my service. When I explained that this did not align with industry standards or my experiences at other blow dry salons, the owners were contacted and responded in a condescending and dismissive manner. Rather than addressing the incomplete service, they minimized my concerns and made it seem as though my expectations were unreasonable. I left without receiving the service I paid for and felt that my hair texture was treated as a problem rather than something the salon is equipped to serve. Accepting clients with textured hair while failing to provide equitable service--or clearly communicate limitations beforehand--is unacceptable. I would not recommend this location to anyone with textured hair unless major changes are made in training, communication, and accountability.

I was looking for something really subtle and natural--just a more polished version of myself--and they nailed it. They took the time to understand the look I was going for and didn't rush the process at all. They also checked in along the way to make sure everything felt right, which I appreciated. Nothing felt overdone, but it made a noticeable difference once I got in front of the camera. I felt a lot more confident going into the shoot, and the photos turned out better than I expected. Super professional, easy to work with, and you can tell they care about getting it right. Really glad I found them.

However, it seemed like no one ever looked at the photo, because neither the makeup artist nor the hairstylist mentioned it or asked about it during the appointment. The makeup in my reference photo featured light colors, but the artist immediately started using much darker tones, even though I was already wearing my dress, which was not dark and would have paired better with a lighter look. As for my hair, the back looked beautiful. However, despite showing a picture of the hairstyle I wanted, the front initially looked nothing like the reference and, honestly, looked quite bad. Fortunately, some adjustments were made later, but I was disappointed that my preferences did not seem to be considered from the beginning.

It was good I did that because no one responded to my email and I was on a crunch with my wedding 2 weeks away. I probably called an additional 2 times before the wedding day to ensure my appointments were still on the calendar and to confirm the artists. They were able to have 3 stylists so the day started at 7:45AM until 10:00AM. Blowouts include a wash for $55 and Updos don't include a wash and are $95. Everyone was on time which was great. We had 2 blowouts and 5 updos for the party. I think everyone's hair looked great. There was one auntie that was not happy about her updo (but she didn't voice it) so I don't blame the hair stylist on that and believe that the stylist would have fixed it had she said anything. It's important to note (with any stylist) to bring lots of examples of what you want so the stylist knows or to bring photos of ideas and they can choose what might look best for you. She took her time, which is not itself bad, but it might be surprising if you book a 45 minute appointment and are in any sort of rush. I think $64 is a bit steep, especially since there are quality blowout spots that aren't that much, even today!

The tan itself looks GREAT -- so natural, not orange at all and is holding up really well (I am about 6 days post tan and it isn't patchy or coming off anywhere!). The rapid tan was quick and easy to remove and the smell was super minimal (we all know the fake tan smell lol). I will definitely be back for another one once this one finally fades. Finally, I felt like the pricing was super fair for the quality of work that was done/tan that was given and how easy the whole process was. It was right in line with what I used to pay in DC before I moved, so no surprises there either.
