I've been coming here about once every other month since soft opening day because I work in the building. I don't know why, but every time I go here, the experience progressively gets worse. It's very little things, like lack of croissant availability and variety no matter what time of the day or days I visit. The croissant itself is pretty pricey for what you ultimately get both in portion and size. They also seem to have put more priority to their rewards program, because the buy 5 get 1 free deal is now a members exclusive promotion. But I've had their app since day 1 and it doesn't have a great UI, unfortunately. It's been interesting to see how they've grown and branched out to other locations. For some reason, it feels like this location receives the least priority. The size of their kitchen versus what they actually offer never matches up. Anyway, my favourite flavour to order is the truffle crab, hands down. It's like a chowder in croissant form. My most recent visit, I tried the prosciutto sandwich, and it was like they took several layers of prosciutto from a pack and dumped it straight into a croissant. It was very difficult to eat, i was only a fan because it felt like I was getting a good deal because of it, but texture wise I could not bite into it without dissecting and individually separating the pieces with my hands. I also usually buy one of their bubble teas. It's not amazing in any way, but it's also not bad. It's just enough to satisfy a craving. Their drinks used to only come in 1 size but now they serve drinks in a large size cup, which is really great. The price is also cheaper than $7, and with inflation pricing, it feels like a good deal. They have lounge-y cafe seating around the store. It's usually very empty when I visit - I usually come on weekdays at all times of the day between opening to 6pm. Music isn't loud. It's a great environment for relaxing from the busyness that is Yonge/Dundas. I think this place is worth trying and occasionally visiting for a quick craving or treats for others, but I wouldn't expect to be amazed.

Gourmet croissant! Was out exploring downtown when I chance upon this croissant place. It's located in a mall/complex kinda of area. And I love how I was greeted by the buttery scent of fresh baked croissants. They have all kinds of croissants, from sweet to savory to plain old original. Dont get me wrong, the original is actually pretty amazing. It's lightly coated with honey and I actually like that best. You can actually call the store before stopping in to ask about the croissants menu for the day. And sometimes, if you have a specific crossiant request, you can ask them about it and they would make it for you if that have the ingredients available that day. (That's how I managed to get the chocolate hazelnut croissant). Kudos to that! Salted egg yolk taste pretty much like the salted egg yolk bun from dimsum places. So if you like that, you gonna like it. Golden cheese was pretty much a surprise to me. I enjoy how not only is there cheese on the crossiant, there's also gooey cheese in the center of the crossiant! Chocolate hazelnut was amazing. I don't really need to explain much, it's coated in dark chocolate with hazelnut bits on it. Would be perfect if there's also chocolate hazelnut in the center of the crossiant too! It's definitely worth trying and do sign up for their rewards program! You get 10% off online order and free drink on your second purchase!

Dropped by right around their opening as this was the only bakery open in the area on a modified Christmas Monday. Decided to opt for theirs buy5 get 1free promo. The packaging and care they have for their croissants is definitely reflected in their price. Honeycomb croissant is their most basic and it's small, buttery and flakey. Chocolate had the same base with chocolate inside which I definitely enjoyed. Salted egg yolk also had the same base with a small pump of salted egg yolk in the middle. Could have used a bit more. Overall great to try to satisfy my curiosity but at the price point there's definitely better options.

I think this place gets a high rating due to their "gourmet" presentation/ambience but it's just another bakery At the time of this review, I haven't tried the croffle but the salted egg croissant was definitely a hit! It had everything you want when you hear "salted egg", however, the outer layer of the croissant was a bit on the sweet side and it wasn't as buttery as I thought it would be. As well, for the price, it's on a smaller end. The drink was a disappointment - the brown sugar didn't mix well into the drink despite several attempts at mixing it. As a result, it was either really bland or sweet Go try it for yourself if gourmet croissants are your thing, but I don't think I'd come back here. There's another croissant place in North York that has unique flavours at a more affordable price

Location/Service This place is located right in the heart of Yonge and Dundas, west of the Eaton Centre. Parking within side streets are available or you can park at the Green P by Dundas Square. The place is not that big, I don't see any seating arrangements - so I assume it's more for a buy and go experience. The layout get a little narrow as you enter, which I though was a little awkward to see all their pastries after you pass the cash register. But staff were nice and friendly and made good recommendations as a first timer. Food I ordered only 3 croissants to try - a honeycomb, hazelnut and caramel almond. All of them were consistent in terms of its texture - soft, flaky and very buttery. The different flavours add a nice bit of kick - I personally like hazelnut, so I like that one the best. In terms of price, it is reasonable, but I don't eat enough croissants to know if it's justifiable. Overall this place is good and nice to have an option of pastries in the area.

It's the smell that draws you to Hazukido. The smell of butter and bread, mixed and risen and crisped to perfection. And while the actual croissants didn't quite get to the level of that glorious smell that wafted out from Hazukido, they were still very good - rich and buttery and flaky in all the right places. A tad small for their price, and would have wanted a bit more filling. That said, enjoyable all around.

Another viral cafe with the pretty exterior but lacked in ambiance. Not very friendly staff just like a conveyer belt line of people in big white chef hats . We tried the croffle which was super hard and sticky and a cube croissant which the exterior was hard and overly packed with a chocolate sauce ( like a Nutella without the hazelnut flavour) it made a cute photo but would I return ? Probably not !

To clarify my visit on 2020-11-07, it was their 2nd day of soft opening. I waited 5 mins to get in. Then after I took pics, I waited another 10 mins indoors to order. They only had 5 flavours of their croissants. By the time I was able to order, they didn't have the flavours I wanted so I only ordered their ordinary croissant ($2.95). The chef was test making one of their future products (garlic bread) and so he gave me one since I was asking him about the products and future products. The two items I had were delicious. They do have some nice and unique flavours. Their croissants looked nice but i'm not sure they are worth the high prices (for the fancy ones). They were in such short supply of their baked goods and from what I hear, they continue to be in short supply during their grand opening. I tried again on 2020-11-11 and 12 during their grand opening. Their grand opening specials were only available via their app. The app was extremely frustrating to use and there were no messages to explain what was going on. For example, you couldn't find any store within Canada. I found out it means their disabled ordering. When they turned it on at 10:00, I got to the point of the last click to place the order and it said my order timed out. For their second offer starting at 10:30, I tried to order at 10:31 and the app could not find a store again. I found out because the first and second offers were sold out within 30 secs. There were people who's order went through and confirmed but when they got to the store, they were told their order was not honoured because they reached the limit of their offer. The company decided to turn off use of their app 2020-11-12 to 15 and want everyone to go in person. I did go on 2020-11-11 at 12:30 but the line up was 45 outdoors and 7 indoors. This means it would take a long time (60+ mins?) to handle those people, based on my experience on 2020-11-07. I did go on 2020-11-12 at 09:20 (they open 10:00) but there were 47 in line already so I gave up. I didn't want to wait a long time in line and pay expensive prices for their fancy flavours assuming they were not sold out of them (because they tend to be in short supply of their fancy croissants).

Regular croissants, white chocolate croissant, chocolate croissant, and strawberry croissant.
    Wai L.

I came here on Saturday afternoon and waited in line for around 15 minutes. The croissant varieties were limited. I got two regulars, two chocolates, a white chocolate, and one strawberries. I ate three croissants on the same day and they taste great. But the next day, the remaining croissants didn't taste as good and they were stale. I will give Hazukido three stars because there is nothing special about the croissants. I could get the same croissants at the Danish Pasty House in the Eaton Centre and I wouldn't have to wait in line. They taste great, but not worth the wait.

Came by on a visit to Toronto because I heard great thing about the croissants here and so glad I stopped by! I got the Raspberry Panna Cotta croissant and it was filled with so much filling! The raspberry was tart but sweet and was so perfect in the croissant! Would get it again

    Lisa S.

Buy 5 get one free, sounds like a great deal until you learn that it was actually 30$+ for 6 croissants. Very pricey but it was good so still 4/5 stars, I def won't be getting it again anytime soon. But the custard filling was delicious and croissant flakiness was perfect. The garlic butter one was so savoury. Would recommend trying

Updated review: Went by Hazukido last weekend around 11am. The service was extremely slow and the selection was really weak. We were looking for sweet, dessert croissants but they didn't have any of the ones we wanted available. We settled for two options that weren't even on their menu...and its understandable why. One was chocolate - essentially a plain croissant with a chocolate coating on a third of it and the other was strawberry chocolate - again, a plain croissant with a strawberry chocolate coating on a third of it. The croissants do not live up the hype. They are small and for $5 each, are not worth with price. I'd much rather get a croissant from Blackbird Bakery or Marvellous by Fred. They are bigger, taste better and more reasonably priced. Two stars.

It's my go-to spot to get my don fix - I love the wide variety of dons (rice bowls) that they offer with various fish and seafood combinations. There are also unique appetizers in the menu, such as Purple Yam Croquettes, Crab Crackers, Braised Bamboo Shoots with Shirasu (immature whitebait fish), and Takowasa (marinated raw octopus pieces, to be eaten with or wrapped in nori / seaweed). Although the dons are the main highlight of their menu (hence the restaurant name), they also offer traditional sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls and sets (similar to other Japanese sushi restaurants). Miso Aburi Scallops were very flavourful - nicely torched, giving the scallops a nice grill / char taste. They came with red and green seaweed, and a bit of fish roe. Large Premium Hana Don contained a good amount of fish and seafood, including a whole abalone, uni, shrimp in the shell, aburi salmon, ikura (salmon roe), salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, other various fish sashimi, tamago (egg), and a few slices of cucumber on a generous bed of rice. I liked that the rice was a mix of white rice and some type of dark-coloured grains. Unatama Don came with a big piece of unagi and tamago (egg) that were both excellent. The sashimi were all fresh. Okonomiyaki was disappointing but it was sort of expected... for only $9, it was about 99% just flour pan-fried in a patty, without any substantial fillings (unlike real okonomiyaki, which usually contains protein / seafood, cabbage, eggs, and other ingredients). I ate a couple of pieces and the crisp texture and flavor was wonderful. I had a bite of rice and when I got to the cabbage to my dismay I found a long piece of hair in it. I immediately lost my appetite and all I could think about was how great the two bites of chicken was. I gave up the plate and showed the staff what I found. They offered another plate a couple of times and after I declined a refund was issued. Katsuya. sucks for serving me one of the best pieces of breaded chicken in my life with hair in the food. I'm struggling to hold back the tears now as I write. I did get to try the parmesan fries which were ok. I also tasted the udon which is not one of their stronger dishes. This probably would have been five stars had it not been for the hair. I know this happens on the rare occasion but probably shouldn't if hair nets are worn.
