Great prices and a very large selection. Plenty of parking and accessible on Route 2.

Its in a nice little spot, there was plenty of parking and the space is clearly new which you notice in a nice clean newly paved parking lot. I like when I walked in- there is a small entry - you're not thrown into a big space. I wasn't expecting table service at a brewery - even with a full menu - that was a nice surprise. Our server did have a slight lag where we were thinking wheeerrrrrre did he go? But the rest of the night he was on top of things. I ordered poutine and a couple of beers. The poutine was good - I like shoestring fries. But I have one beloved former RI restaurants poutine taking up too big a space in my heart still, and this didn't quite hit that. But it was a good snack. Great serving size. We sat in a small alcove with like 4 - 4 top tables. I dig the decorations. Christmas lights are festive and fun. The bar looked decently busy for a wednesday evening - but the acoustics inside work well and it didn't feel noisy or distracting. I got the Cohesive (American IPA) and def enjoyed it. Balanced, not too hoppy, crisp.

There's bar seating, tables, outdoor space, and even fire pits, and the overall atmosphere is spot on. We didn't love our particular table - we were seated right where people line up to order beer, so it felt like they were basically standing at our table. If I went back, I'd probably ask to sit somewhere else or just grab a seat at the bar. The beer was decent, with about 8-10 varieties on tap. You can tell this is a local favorite. What a great place to meet up and connect with friends! Definitely worth checking out.

My friend knows much more about wine than I do, so he was the decision maker for our wine choices and we ordered a 1/2 bottle of red which we both found to be very delicious. Of course, we had to try some food too and the small bites menu was perfect with something to satisfy nearly every taste. We opted for the meat charcuterie, and it was beautifully presented with enough for the two of us to share. There is also a cheese charcuterie on the menu, but unfortunately there is not an option for a combined meat and cheese plate. We sat, sipped, and tasted for a while and never felt rushed. The atmosphere was so comfortable and we'll definitely consider going back here again.

I didn't have the best time at Providence Wine Bar…read more This might sound a little haughty, but hear me out: I can drink wine at home. I can browse a liquor store & pick out a bottle that exactly fits my preferences, my mood, & my budget. I can bring it home & uncork the wine, checking the cork for freshness. I can pull out my special glassware & pour myself a glass of wine & enjoy it on my own couch. So why go out to a wine bar, if not for the wine? For me, it's for the ambience & the experience. Both of those things at Providence Wine Bar were lacking. The lights were too bright (overhead & fluorescent) & the music was too loud (& just bad). The employees seemed both bored & nervous, with not much to do to occupy themselves. I was one of the only people in the bar, so I felt like I was under scrutiny - I'm certain this wasn't intentional but it was unfortunately how it came across. I brought a book but couldn't focus because of the lights & the music. I even caught myself with my fingers in my ears, trying to muffle the sounds of 2010s hyper pop. I have nothing against 2010s hyperpop, it's just that there's a time & place for everything, & maybe that isn't at a wine bar at 8 PM on a Wednesday. I just wanted to be done with my glass of wine so that I could leave. All of that being said, I wish them the best. It seems like they need a good manager's touch.

I am really sorry to do this ... I truly, truly am ... because I hate to besmirch a locally owned…read morebusiness but the prices here are just absolutely fucking bananas! I get that EG is a pretty expensive town ... and normally I don't mind paying a little extra to support a local business but there are bottles of spirits in here that are $20 higher than other liquor stores for the same thing!!! Literallyz I paid $20 more than Haxton's in Warwick for the same item! That is a sort of extreme case ... but on average expect to pay $10 more for any bottle of liquor ... and $4 - $5 more for any 6 pack of craft beer than any other store in the area. Forget about comparing this place to a Total Wine, you can literally save 40% on most items shopping there vs. here. I honestly don't think I've ever seen prices this high on liquor/wine ... Not in midtown Manhattan. Not in my home of West Hollywood, CA. I won't be totally brutish ... they do have a very nicely curated selection of wines and spirits here. You aren't going to find any allocated items here ... No Weller, No Blanton's, No Pappy, etc. but they have a decent selection of bourbon, spirits and a huge amount of pre-mixed cocktails and mixers. They have craft beer ... local and far away brands ... fancy ciders, saki and other interesting but niche selections of expensive single craft bottles. The store is immaculately clean and organized well. It may be the most expensive liquor store I've ever been in but it's also maybe the most well organized. The staff isn't particularly interested in going out of their way to help you. But, if you ask them a question about wines, etc. they will make some good recommendations if they aren't too busy doing something else. I will end by saying that I was in a rush to buy liquor and wine for a dinner party that my house hosts were having. I wasn't looking too carefully at the receipt because I figured everything was just so expensive, it is what it is. However, when I got home, I found out one of the bottles I bought must have been put in the wrong place. They charged me $84 for a bottle that costs $59 anywhere else. It was next to a sign that said $65. For 8 bottles of liquor and wine and a 4-pack of craft beer, I paid more than I did for my first car in 2005. Not even kidding.

It appears to share parking with the fast food business. A small outdoor seating area is to one side of the building on the Roseland Ave side. During our visit, mid to late afternoon on a week day, there were a fair amount of regulars in house and one bartender holding it all down. We were greeted after an on going conversation was completed in a friendly manner. After a couple of questions about beers on tap, we placed our drink order. The ambiance is very casual. It looks to have been updated with newer flooring and metal and wood seating throughout. Besides bar seating, there are a few high top tables. Staff and guests were very friendly and easy going. Patrons went up to the bar to order and bussed their glassware/empty bottles. We were not offered a food menu when we arrived. Maybe because it was an 'off' hour for a meal? The drinks are reasonably priced and they offer a cash discount. The POS (point of sale, aka: register/order system) calculates your credit card purchased beverages at a slightly higher rate. These fees are not uncommon for a small business trying to keep prices down. As long as the fees are kept 'reasonable' I don't mind. It's my choice to use a credit card. They offer a few beers on tap, basic wines by the glass and plenty of canned beverages besides a pretty well stocked bar. This is very much an unfussy, friendly neighborhood bar.
