Worst meal I've had in years. Ordered large Chicken with rice, rice was plentiful but chicken was between a small and medium size. Ordered sides of veggies, beef and spam. Veggies were super mushy, way too salty with I guess the teriyaki sauce they were boiled in, beef tasted old and they added soy or teriyaki to the spam, like the veggies it tasted like the spam.was diced and boiled in soy sauce, it was more mushy snd salty than if you opened a can of spam and ate it from the can. The place is clean (including the bathroom) and definitely Hawaiian themed. It's very well put together and the customer service was fantastic! The food portion to price ratio is quite reasonable as well. I was hoping for more of a sweeter Hawaiian flavor and the mac salad was on the spicy side. Place is amazing! Some of the best Hawaiian food I have had from a place that is not in Hawaii. Service was great and super friendly staff. Came in for lunch and was pretty busy so you can tell food would be good. Another factor for me for finding good places.. is seeing police, fire, or state troopers inside. Normally means to me the place will be good! wait time wasn't long, good and veggies are fresh and delicious. The decor in the building was very aesthetically pleasing and hit the Hawaiian look on the nail. Any 1 or 2 star reviews are a joke. Don't trust them. Ordered via Doordash for pickup. Customer service was great, wait was reasonable, cute interior. The low stars are for the food. Ordered the chicken medium and it tastes like straight chili flakes. I typically love spicy food, its just hot and not doing anything to enhance the flavor. I added extra teriyaki to mellow it. The chicken and rice were fine otherwise. The noodles and vegetables were pretty decent. Good veggies. The mac salad was sad. I grew up on Maui and the mac salad needs some tweaking. Maybe it was just an off day, but ut was not good. Oy.. what bewildering experience. When advised the most popular plate was the Hula Hula Chicken, and confirmed it contained no onions, that's what I went with. When my food came out, it was...not chicken. I brought this to the order takers attention. He looked it up in the system, and blamed the mistake on the kitchen. At this time I also noticed, I was charged an additional dollar more. But when looking at the receipt, he simply put in the order incorrectly. Disappointing food and the most lazy, uncaring service I've had. They say try a place twice, and I wish I hadn't given a second chance to this place, my impression only got worse. No pork which was kinda disappointing considering I couldn't try the staple kalua pork. I was born and raised in Hawai'i and the Mac salads tasted very authentic to local style Mac salad, I wish it had peas and carrots but since I've been on the mainland this is the best Hawaiian food I've had. We were traveling through and decided to get food to take home (over hour away). Ordered the food, server verified order, waited for about 10 minutes and server had two bags of food for me. Got home and saw that they messed up on the order, giving us two of one thing (when we only ordered one of them) and forgot one of the other items I had. There were no labels on the food containers so I can see where the server might have made a mistake (there were a few other people waiting)- so I would suggest they label the containers. I am bummed because the one thing I was looking forward to didnt make it into my bag and there was no way for me to go back and get it corrected. Food itself was decent. read more

Fun place but missing on the food. The mac salad is some local variant, not the normal lackluster mac n cheese you typically get as a side in the islands. I think this is a negative but some would prefer it I am sure but then why bother going to a hawiian place if you want grandma's mac salad. The white rice and the lava flow smoothie were both good. The pulled pork was not pulled. Easily rectified but frankly it is best not to see all the fat and nastiness that makes up the pulled pork meat. If haf been shredded up properly you font see it and you dont think about it and enjoy it. Flavor was ok, and meat ok as well. Normally would have wolfed it down but due to presentation and preparation I had a to go box. Not Authentic Hawaiian food! Ordered the Kalua Pork plate and Lava Flow smoothie. The pulled pork and rice were good (not great) but sadly the macaroni salad was a complete let down. I was raised on authentic hawaiian cuisine thanks to my mom and grandma. Don't know what receipe they are using but it was not good! The Lava Flow smoothie was the highlight of the meal. I was told about how great the place is by a family member and stopped in. About a dozen people ordered after us all of them got their food before us. I understand this can be an issue with special orders or something unique. But I ordered a chicken and rice plate. So needless to say I was really disappointed to begin with. This isn't a plate lunch it's someone's poor imitation. Mac salad is easy, you don't need to make up your own recipe. You could at least try to fake it better. Hawaiian Hut is one of those special places that doesn't try to overwhelm you with fancied up food and decor. They serve simple food done perfectly. The Tereyaki Chicken is stellar. Cooked perfectly, it is tender but not mushy. I got the standard Teriyaki while my girlfriend got the spicy Chicken. Neither of us are lovers of "Hot & Spicy" foods, but she said that she was at her limit with that #5 Chicken. But she loved it, tingling lips and all. The rice is plain, white rice. No flavoring, spices or even butter. And it is Terrific! Just add a bit of teriyaki sauce and it is great. Their Macaroni Salad is spiced a bit differently than what you get in the plastic containers at the store and is all the better for it. And the macaroni is nicely aldente. Oh, Yeah. Sizes. You have 3 sizes to choose from, Small, Regular and Large. All I have ever had was the "regular". I get 2 meals out of it and I can't imagine the appetite needed to polish-off a large in one sitting. As to the decor. It is definitely "Hawaiian Surfer" style, and I like it too. Not crazy, over-the-top it is just the way it should be. Disgustingly dirty the food is nothing near authentic AT ALL this is simply a fast food version of Hawaiian food and you get what you pay for it's cheap because it's CHEAP if you know what I mean, their "steak" is cheap slices of roast beef, the chicken is fatty and full of joints YUCK. All their terrible food aside their political stance is horrible they push their beliefs on their poor employees and their costumers. Instead of working on making correct orders and making actually good food they're too focused on crying about the governor and boo hooing over having to wear masks. It's been a year Get over it!! The chicken has good flavor; but some of it was hard to eat, because of the chewy pieces of fat that I had to pick out of my mouth. The rice was good and the macaroni salad was decent. There is good to even *very* good Hawaiian food to be had in the lilly-white, inland Rogue Valley. Unfortunately, this place ain't it. What I tried here I wouldn't serve to guests at a backyard picnic. Pride of craftsmanship, or something like that. The mac salad was old--- at least a day old, but probably much older than that. I should have known something was amiss when I opened the to-go carton I could swear I heard the sound of "meh" coming from the yawning aperture from within. The rice refused to even put up any pretense of being glad to be there, let alone, to please the hungry guests at hand *ahem*. The kalua pig was smokey, which is more than I can say for several bbq-type places I've tried, recently. But the pork was D-R-Y, the one sin you must never commit w/this heavenly manna, the youngsters working the counter at the Hut were clearly oblivious and would have doubtlessly failed if you paid them 50 grand to pretend to care. Can't conceive a good reason to ever go back to th is place... maybe if they expanded the limited menu (no fish/seafood at all, no chicken long rice, no loco moco, no musubi, no saimin etc etc) I might then give 'em another try. They are apparently just finishing out their second year in business, so consider this a sophomore slump. I do hope they find their way out it, bad Hawaiian food is a crying shame. read more

My wife and I ate at the Hawaiian Hut for the first time last week, which had recently opened in late February. My wife and I both got different entrées. The marinated chicken dish I had was excellent. Both of our dishes came with rice and some macaroni salad which was very tasty. The portion sizes were pretty large for the low prices. My wife's dinner contained a lot of stir-fried vegetables, which she said tasted great. She liked all her food, and had enough leftover for lunch the next day. The food was great, and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was fun, without being cheesy like other themed restaurants. You can dine in, or take out. The Hawaiian Hut is a reasonably priced, healthier alternative to traditional fast food. I would recommend this place for either lunch, or dinner. read more
