Hawaii Racing has a very impressive storefront, showroom and great inventory for most American V8's. That includes fully built floor models for you to drool over. Unfortunately that's where the accolades end. The prices here are the highest in the tri-county area. You can simply find a better price by going literally anywhere else for the identical performance parts. To top it off, they will not price match or negotiate at all. If you complain, they will quite literally point towards the door. The second issue is the complete lack of customer service. Long waits on the phone. Being hung up on. No one picking up during business hours. If you walk in, no one acknowledges you, says hello or even looks in your direction. When you do finally get their attention long enough to begin a conversation, they're rude and act as if you, the customer are truly bothering them. I'm not sure how a business with this much visible disdain towards their customers stays in business. Perhaps it's the few large, white male retirees with disposable income who frequent this place to buy expensive billet goodies and get their egos stroked? Went in there first time to look at edelbrock heads and cam combo. Was in there for about 6 minutes, 2 guys working one on the phone and one t a long to a customer. Not one of them acknowledge me being there. They lost that sale and a would be customer I'll stay with JEGS and SUMMIT RACING for all my performance parts! Wouldn't go there again. So I just went in to ask about LS engine mounts for a 67 Chevelle and spoke to owner of Hawaii racing and we were talking about our experiences with what we have to do to get the engine to fit right. As I was talking to him about what i have seen and read about he mentioned what he had to do to get his mounts fitted properly as to modify them. So I as we were talking more he started getting frustrated with how companies say mounts work when they don't so I was getting ready to say what I saw on YouTube and he said I don't deal with that sh*t and I'm like hold on chucks garage he's like I'm f***ing done listening about this if you want your car done right bring it here in 2 months and started cussing when he walked away. I said what is your problem and he went along with his way with other words being exchanged. Ya I've read all these reviews and maybe back in the day they didn't price match and were outrageously high, but I bought a complete aeromotive stealth fuel take kit and it was the same price as summit. I also purchased a few other things remote cut off solenoid being one of them and they price matched summit. So no complaints here. Called yesterday for plug wires. Found what I wanted on the phone after much unwanted and immature chit chat from both guys working there. I drove 25 minutes to get there and the wires weren't as I asked for but was assured they were cut to length. They were not. Fortunately, one of the guys finally boned up and after I requested he look for viable alternatives, he did find one, which I subsequently purchased. No sooner am I checking out and paying than the owner strolls by and says those wires aren't that good and I should've bought another brand even though they're more expensive. What a shitty thing to do and say as a customer has decided on a product and is making a purchase. Furthermore, why didn't you OR your childish staff recommended other manufacturers before I made my purchase? Put your $.02 in BEFORE a customer makes their decision, not as a poke or afterthought. What added to the usual POOR EXPERIENCE shopping here is the constant walking up and down the counter. "Over here to look it up. Over here to pay. No, back over here. Fucking ridiculous not to mention how long it takes your staff to pull an item from stock (and do so with that ever present little smirk on their face). This is why I try to never buy here. Only did so this time out of urgency. Think I'll stick to my guns from now on and order from Summit and wait the day or two and avoid the overall bad experience I get EVERY TIME I've gone here. Joe and the staff at Hawaii Racing made a long time dream become a reality. I wanted to build a tribute reproduction of a Hemi powered 1955 Thunderbird that was built by Art Chrisman in 1958. I purchased a stock restored Thunderbird , drove it to Hawaii Racing the day after Thanksgiving , by Feb 1st it was one the road heading for display at the NHRA Winternationals, amazing as the project required building thei Hemi from scratch using all aftermarket parts other than the block and crankshaft,no easy task as we were using an EFI converted original 1958 Hilborn injector. The chassis work was not simple either as I wanted the car to look as stock as possible. The engine was in and out 5 times to satisfy Joe's desire to have it look as close to the original as possible, and the progect was finished in just three months with a total cost actually a bit under what we agreed on read more

Stay away from this place. They price gouge! I was warned by my mechanic that they are super expensive but I went there anyway because I needed a starter and couldn't wait to get one shipped. They charged me $160 plus tax for a part that is only $83 online. I do expect to pay more because I'm going to a brick and mortar store but double? That's ridiculous!. When it comes to expertise, customer service, and perfection, the staff at Hawaii Racing have mastered these qualities. Joe (owner) will listen to your goals for the car and make decisions on how to approach the project that makes sense for the customer. My 71 Camaro started out with a rear axle gear change. They handled it great and my experience and satisfaction with this small job cemented the trust for what they can do. Joe and his crew since then built me a 496 monster, along with adding a heavy duty transmission to handle the HP and torque. The custom made transmission supports looks as if was factory. They cleaned up all of the wiring in the engine compartment so it's hidden and clean. Hawaii racing also finished off the fire wall by fabricating a metal plate and welding up the heater core area and all unnecessary holes. Then they Performed the body work and paint and the firewall looks better than new. They also installed Baer 6 piston brakes on all four wheels. Recently I added Vintage air and redid the front suspension replacing the stock A-arms with tubular ones and looks fantastic. There is nothing they can't do to your hot rod.
