    Bee hives

Big Mahalo for Ken relocating the honey bees that showed up at my house within 3 hours. Ken was able to come to my place within 2 hours of call him for help. Big Mahalo again!

10,000 bees deep inside the hot tub !!
    Vince B.

Bees in a hot tub. Somehow the bees found a little tiny puka under the fiberglass tub and the frame/skirting. Underneath the actual tub is a small dark sealed cavity and that is where they started a new beehive deep inside that hidden space. It kept getting worse with an ever increasing number of bees. I was nervous about even going out on my deck because I was afraid they would swarm and attack me. Ecological disaster: The other thing I knew about bees is that they are dying off. But they are important to plants and pollination. No bees. No plants. I might have been more aggressive and dumped and sprayed strong pesticides in there to kill them off. But, I knew that was not right. Just killing the endangered bees was not the answer. Especially when there are beekeepers willing and able to collect the bees and move them to a new location. Enter Yelp and Ken 'the bee guy': I did a yelp search and the Hawaii Bee Hotline seemed to be just what I needed. I had used the Yelp 'request a quote' feature before. I gave a description of my problem and got a quick response. I was surprised that he had dealt with bees in hot tubs before. Ken said he knew from experience exactly how much work was involved and gave me a quote range. But he wanted to stop by and have a look first hand in order to give an exact quote. Exact Start to Finish Quote: So I agreed to the quote and we set up a time and date. Ken, a helper and Penny (wife and fellow beekeeper) showed up in beekeeper suits with the smoke devices and other specialized equipment. He explained that the bees would be removed regardless of what it took with no extra charges. Ken is intent on being as effective and professional as possible. Success: After extensive work they collected the honey comb and put it in the special box. But they didn't get the Queen Bee the first day. So they returned the next day and finally the bees went into the new box. Anyway, the bees were removed along with the queen and the hot tub put back together. My problem has been solved. Five Stars from me as I can't imagine any bee service being better.

Picture this-8am no bees 11 am 7,000 bees. 1 call and 60 minutes later, Ken is at our community, on Good Friday no less, taking care of our bee situation. He relocates them efficiently and with care. He gave me some bee education and saved some very important creatures.

John and helpers dressed for bees.

We called Hawaii Bee Hotline because the bees were swarming and settling into our lanai ceiling. Ken had Syreen give me a call who coordinated the service. John came by the next day, assessed the situation and arranged to have 2 helpers the following day to remove the bees! All were dressed in bee keeper suits, and passionate about bees. They smoked the area to get the bees dozy, removed the ceiling and revealed a huge cluster of bees. John and his helpers carefully relocated the cluster into a carrier and took them away. We are really appreciative that they were able to come so quickly, were so knowledgeable, and cared about the bees. We'd highly recommend them.

My mom's flower garden was a hotel for these bees

Mahalo Kenny & Penny ( Hawaii Bee Hotline) for coming to our rescue. Best service ever! I called Saturday evening and contained the bees on the same day. Kenny and Penny are an awesome team. They contained the bees and we got to learn about bees. Soooo cool! You got bees! Call Kenny & Penny

After. Some bees were still there, but they'll be safe.

I had a little bee problem after the rain. Started off small then I noticed more bees, then a small hive. I love honey, and so I wanted to find a good bee remover. I randomly called someone. I didn't know what to expect, he was very friendly and knowledgeable. I learn a lot of new things today, and I got to sit outside and watch him remove the bees. It was a very fun experience, I wasn't scared of the bees cause he explained to me the process and how to find the Queen. Fast and friendly.

Bee friendly, fun & Educational for the whole family!

Mahalo, Peter, for the prompt service and making our bee experience friendly, educational and fun for the family and for the bees! Aloha!

I had a swarm of bees in my yard that I needed removed and Ken was very informative as to the nature of the bees. He was able to set up a bee removal with Kim who picked them up for free. Very friendly, quick, and educational during the removal. I would highly recommend calling Ken if you need bees removed.

I cannot tell you how happy I was to have Ken and Penny come on the same day, just a few hours after I called them, come and remove the Honey Bee's from my property. Super fast, super efficient, super nice people!!! While Penny was educating me about the bee's, Ken was taking care of business! Thank you!

Ken and his wife were awesome! We had a fallen hive and thousands of bees in our yard! They were here within an hour of the call! Got right to work to re-homed the bees! They were so knowledgeable and passionate about their job! Very inexpensive! It took 20 minutes and they were done! The wife was explaining every step to me and my kids ! Lifesavers for us and my doggies

Found Ken and the Hawaii Bee Hotline through a Google search. His website educated me about how bees are a limited resource here in the islands and how unlike the mainland, we cannot import honeybees here to pollinate our crops or produce local honey. Because of this, I decided to give Ken a call. I gave Ken a call the Friday when Hurricane Lane broke up into a tropical storm and he was able to (thankfully) squeeze me into his Sunday schedule. He re-homed a hive that made house inside a cross-fit jump box stored on my back lanai. To my terrified self, the hive looked huge; but according to Ken, it was about 2-3 weeks old. The process took about 1 hour and it was quite an educational show for my family to watch through our back sliding door. All in all, I am very thankful for Ken's service. Just like others here on yelp have commented, I highly recommend the Hawaii Bee Hotline and they would be my "go to" if I ever encounter another swarm. Oh, I must add this final note: I almost resorted to extermination when I contacted another bee removal service on Google. The "other quote" I received was fairly high and had me thinking of cheaper extermination alternatives. However, Ken's pricing is affordable and his pricing honestly tells me that he is passionate about the survival of Hawaiian bees and their importance to the environment. Thank you Ken for not only your service, but what you do for all of us.

We noticed bees gathering outside of our home and called a beekeeper recommended by my pest control company. After checking the inside and outside of the home 3x, they wanted to start opening up walls.. Luckily, I found Ken's info online and scheduled a consultation (free). He was super responsive and was able to locate the hive immediately. Unfortunately, Ken is so good, that he was completely booked, and I had to schedule the removal a month later. The day of the removal, my parents came over to observe, I'm so grateful to Ken and his wife for taking the time to educate us all on bees and their behavior. The removal went swiftly and we were able to keep a bunch of the honey. I highly recommend The Hawaii Bee Hotline for their professional service!

Bees set up home in our shed outside

Awesome service, he came right away and explain the process to both my husband and I. I was very impressed with his professionalism and he even took the time to educate my very interested little grandson. I learned so much about honey bees and felt so much relieve when he finished.

Ken smoking the Bee's out! It's 4:20 in Beeville!

Ask the Community - Hawaii bee Hotline

What do they charge to remove what seems to be just a few bees?

Not sure what a few bees means but they are very affordable and charged me just $40 for collecting a decent sized amount of bees.

Ace came by early, greeted me, and he was just as puzzled as I was on how a rat ended up in there, but he was able to pull the thing out and clean out the area of the car it was on. Thankfully, it was in an easy to access area and he was able to safely dispose of it. I didn't want to touch that thing with a 10 foot pole - price to remove and dispose of it was very reasonable. He also went above and beyond by spraying proactively for roaches, ants, and spiders, and even mentioned it could help with the millipedes that have apparently decided my home is their vacation destination. He treated the drains for gnats too, which I did not even think about but now feel personally attacked by. What really stood out was that everything he used, spray, bait, and powder, was eco friendly and pet friendly, so no stressing about safety while still getting the job done. He also made sure we actually understood what to do after he left. He went over the instructions multiple times, emphasizing that everything needed at least 45 to 60 minutes to dry. Clear, patient, and thorough, basically the opposite of every confusing instruction manual ever written. Also, shoutout to the woman who scheduled the appointment, I am so sorry I forgot your name. She was amazing, super knowledgeable, clearly experienced, and mentioned she has been doing this for years and has been on the islands for something like 47 years. You can tell when someone knows their stuff and she definitely does. Regarding the cost, there was a small difference from the original quote. I was initially quoted 180 dollars before taxes with the note that paying cash would cover the taxes. In the end, I was charged 165 dollars, which was actually lower than expected. I appreciated the transparency during the visit and the final price worked out well. Overall, highly recommend. Huge thanks to Eco Smart for sending such an awesome team.
