    Beiruti Salad
    Sel Z.

The interior of the restaurant is very pretty with red and pink flowers adorning the bar area and ceilings, a motorcycle with "Beirut" on it hanging from the ceiling over the bar, gold-plated furniture and utensils, and very shiny floors. It has a luxurious yet casual ambiance. The restaurant doubles as a shisha lounge. There are full bar, dining area with regular dine-in tables, and lounge-style seatings for those who opt for shisha. Service was very friendly and helpful. All the staff greeted us on the way in, and on the way out (including the kitchen staff). It's a half-open kitchen so you can see the chefs cook and prepare the meals. There is a big in-house oven for the bread. Food was excellent. Everything we ordered was delicious: 1) Eggplant Shrimps - Big succulent shrimps on top of grilled eggplant , topped with tahini, labneh, garlic, bell pepper sauce, lemon zest, pine nuts, and pomegranates. This dish had a mix of all the textures - creamy smooth and velvety (from the very well-cooked grilled eggplant, tahini, labneh, and sauces) and crunchy (from the pine nuts and pomegranates). This was great to eat with the complimentary pita bread. 2) Flamed Sea Bream - This dish took a very long time to cook, but it was well worth the wait. It was a full sea bream, grilled and topped with a tomato & bell pepper sauce. We asked for the sauce on the side, and I was glad we did, because I wasn't a fan of the sauce (too salty and strong taste-wise for me). I liked the natural taste of the grilled sea bream without any sauce. It was a very meaty fish. 3) Beiruti Salad - Very refreshing and healthy-tasting. It consisted of chopped cucumber, tomatoes, bell peppers, radishes, onions, parsley, and mint with lemon garlic dressing. 4) Habibi Fattoush Salad - Loved the crunch and mixture of fresh ingredients. We asked for it with dressing and pomegranate molasses on the side (to make it non-sweet and sticky). 5) Pink Lentil Soup - This was supposed to be pink from the beetroots, but it didn't have any hint of pink at all. It looked and tasted just like any other lentil soup, with probably some potatoes. I wondered if it contained any beets at all. 6) Stuffed Grape Leaves - I liked that there were more grape leaves than rice inside. Each bite was bursting with flavour from the spiced rice and I loved soft, velvety texture of the grape leaves. It would've been better without the drizzled pomegranate molasses in my opinion though. They also gave complimentary bread that they said was unlimited. It came out warm and presented very nicely, hanging on a hook (first time seeing pita bread presented like that in a restaurant) - very unique. It looked a bit like a small purse as they punched a small hole at the top of the bread so it could be hung on the hook. They also gave a za'atar & sesame seeds dip to go with the bread.

Very good food. The meat in the hummus was very tender and moist. Nice service. Nice atmosphere.

Amazing food, service and ambiance. Food here was fresh. Shawarma bowl is great. Must try place. Humans was fresh and breads are straight from oven.

Great food and ambience. Had the chicken skewers and Lady killer w/ Love 66 hookah. The server was really nice and food was amazing

We were seated and then greeted right away by our waitress. She gave us menus, but then didn't come back for about 15-20 minutes to take our drink orders. We each ordered a cocktail and they arrived within 5 mins. and all looked amazing. We had the Marissa Harissa which wasn't mine but I swapped for it because it was so tasty lol. It was spicy and a little sour and a little sweet. Very yum! I had ordered the Velvet Figue, which was tasty but a ittle on the sweet side for me. We also had the Amal Old Fashioned which was fantastic. My husband and I both said it was one of the best Old Fashioneds we'd ever had. The last one was the Amal Espresso Martini which was good but unremarkable. We waited about 20 minutes before our food orders were taken. We ordered several things to share. The first round came out around 10 minutes after ordering, which was good. We had the dip sampler and chose the hummus basil, baba ganoush and muhamarrah. The hummus basil was wonderfully smooth and had a great basil flavour. The baba ganoush was nice and creamy. The muhamarrah had a very nice flavour but was very sweet which was a little off-putting to me. I didn't hate it, but wouldn't order it again. We had the kibbeh which was fantastic. The texture and flavour were both perfect. We also had the spicy fingerlings which were great! They were very spicy and the sauce was lemony and so delicious. I actuallly mixed some with my muhamarrah to cut the sweetnss and that really helped. The rest of the food took about 20 minutes to arrive (after we finished the appetizers). We had the skewer platter for two and it was so delicious. The pistachio kabab was out of this world good. My sister doesn't usually enjoy lamb, but she liked this. It was spiced perfectly. The other two were very good too. We had the vermicelli rice, which was very nice. I make this at home so I'm familiar with it and really enjoyed it. The texture was perfect. Lastly, we had the pickle plate which was very interesting. The eggplant pickle was different from any pickle I've had before and was quite firm, which I wasn't expecting. It was tasty. We ordered a bottle of Lebanese red wine which was a very nice accompaniment to the skewers. All in all, it was a lovely evening. Our server was very nice and friendly and the food and drinks were very good. The 4-star rating is partly because of the very slow speed at which the food came out. I'd have given 4.5 stars if that was an option We would return.

The space really is stunning. You feel like you've stepped into something special once you're inside. It wasn't busy and we were seated right away without a wait. Food also came out quickly, which I appreciated. I ordered a latte and the Lebanese Omelette with tomatoes, green onions, capsicum, parsley, home potatoes, and pickled serrano, plus a side of 4 pieces of beef bacon. The latte was okay, nothing memorable. The omelette had good flavour and nice seasoning, but overall I found the dish a little dry. The beef bacon was probably my favourite part, especially with the little pops of pomegranate sprinkled on top, which added a subtle sweetness and texture. One thing that stood out this visit unfortunately wasn't the food. The textile bench cushions where I was seated were visibly stained and fairly worn. They were also uneven in height, and my table was positioned right over two different cushions. I ended up stuffing a pillow under one side just to avoid feeling lopsided the entire meal. It's a small detail, but in a restaurant that presents itself as polished and upscale, those touches matter. Overall, brunch was fine. Good, but not excellent. The food came quickly, flavours were pleasant, but it didn't wow me. That said, I've heard their dinner service is where Amal really shines, with a more expansive mezze selection and elevated dishes, so I'd be open to returning in the evening to experience the restaurant at its best.

We arrived around noon on a recent Saturday and the place was completely empty. A group of four fairly loud men showed up shortly after us and inexplicably sat at a table near us, but that's obviously not the restaurant's fault. The menu contained plenty of tasty-looking entrees, but I figured I'd grab the dish with the name of the restaurant in it: the Tarboosh ("Combination of shawarma and falafel"). The concoction arrived to the table quite a while later, which was weird considering how empty the joint was, and sure looked impressive. I dove right in. Everything on the plate was tasty but not mind-blowing. The chicken shawarma had a few crispy pieces, which was appreciated, but was mostly unreasonably dry. (The two included sauces helped with that, at least.) The falafel was fresh but strangely light. It didn't really have a strong flavor of anything, really. I enjoyed eating it, but it definitely didn't remind me of traditional falafel. The hummus was creamy but lacking in a strong chickpea flavor (i.e. the concoction was overwhelmed by tahini, essentially). However, once I began eating everything together, I began enjoying everything a lot more. The included bread help, too, even though it was far from the best middle-eastern bread I've ever had. Tarboosh is a mixed bag, that's for sure. If you're in the area, it's worth a try. I don't think I would travel to far to check it out, though.

It came on rice which was confusing given the menu description. We got complimentary prepackaged lavash & pita on request to make the sandwiches, but given how simple the flavour was the sandwich didn't work as it was too dry & plain (since the bread was even drier & less flavourful than the rice). The dish was rather one dimensional without any sauce as the beef was very simply cooked. The rice was also simply cooked with pine nuts.

The hummus and eggplant dip were fantastic. Great flavor, great texture. The salad had crisp lettuce and shredded cheese. The baked potato bread strips add a great crunch to the salad. Price: It is definitely pricier than your typical restaurant but the quality is definitely high.
