Fluffy omelette (top) and yummy baba ganoush (bottom)
Jeslyn X.

Went there for brunch and loved this place. It has that blushing rose style, cute and elegant interior. There's also a cute backyard with heaters behind. I seldom apprise services but theirs was just outstanding. The owner walked around greeting customers, even went outside to introduce menus. He was so friendly that when I asked if there was spinach in the baba ganoush that made it look green, he walked me through the entire cooking process. Even the chef in the open kitchen said bye on our way out. The menu features Mediterranean cuisine. The Baba Ganoush I had was fabulous, refreshing and rich, couldn't stop eating. The Omelette was yum too, light and fluffy, with cheddar and bacons on top. I recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for dinning spot in St. Clair West. Shakshuka with a side of house made hot sauce.

One of the best brunch spots in the city. Lots of space, front and back patios, delicious Mediterranean style food with a focus on brunch. The staff are charming and attentive and no matter how busy it gets they make you feel like a priority. I had their shakshuka which was good but not revolutionary and my kid had their California Benny (minus the tomato).

I have nothing but PRAISE for this restaurant and their staff. They were all so hospitable and welcoming. This was my first time organizing a group more than 20 for lunch and I had called a week or so ahead to make a reservation with Robert (one of the owners I believe). He was so friendly and helpful, giving suggestions on how the restaurant can help out in providing what we wanted. They located us at their back patio where the staff were so patient with our group whether it was ordering, waiting on us, and bringing our orders. The restaurant itself is also gorgeously pink and their back patio is an adorable space for any outdoor gathering. It was all very cozy and intimate with space for more. I think it could hold up to 30 people before it would start feeling cramped. The food itself looked and tasted amazing, especially since it was a running Benny when I cut it. Aviv is definitely a hidden gem in Toronto and more people should visit and try it out! They also currently have Summerlicious until the 28th of August so if you want to try, the time is now when they have 3-course meals at prix fixe. I'm not trying to sound like an ad but I genuinely fell in love with the restaurant from my awesome experience today.

SUPER Duper hospitable Staff & solid eats ~ currently has outdoor seating & limited indoor seating My first here & we were a group of 5. Their homemade buns is to die for... super soft & light. Ordered breaded calamari (lots of crispy batter & comes with 2 creamy sauces), smoked salmon salad, veggie pizzas (ultra thin, fresh rich taste, great combos - yay!), ribs (marinated &!easy pull off the bone) & sweet potato fries They were so kind to give us desserts to share as one in our party is pregnant with their 1st baby & her bday just happened ~ so we had the creme brulee/ lemon tart pie (not too sweet nor too tart - very creamy!) & flourless chocolate cake!! We shall be back!

This NEW St. Clair West has been bringing the best cuisine together. I'd love to officially welcome @avivrestaurant to the neighbourhood Fresh flavours from different cultures meet in one amazing culinary experience. @avivirestaurantprides itself on a variety of dishes from all around the world. They showcase the true taste of diversity encompassed in our city. Soon we will be able to enjoy the elegant interior filled with details that highlight the hard work put into this establishment. Featured photos: Hummus with their famous homemade flatbread, Roasted sweet red and golden beets salad, Tunisian vegetable Tagine, Banh Mi club sandwich with green aioli cucumber shrimp, pork belly and pickled veggies. We ordered the hummus, babaganoush, French fries and the chicken plate. Everything was flavourful and delivery was very prompt. We look forward to trying the rest of their offerings.

Ceviche and mussels

Came here to try their winterlicious menu and everything was delicious! Highly recommend the ceviche and Quebec duck. The service was great, they made sure to explain each dish and recommended ways to eat it. The owners are present in the restaurant and are super friendly and passionate about their food. Will definitely return to try other things.

Roasted heirloom carrots with labneh and honey dukkah. Exceptional.

Food was great. Superb service. One meal was too spicy and they immediately and courteously, and without asking, replaced the meal.

Byblos - Chocolate Olive Oil Cake

Byblos

(987 reviews)

$$$$

Entertainment District, Downtown Core

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5…read moreAmbiance: 4/5 Food: We had our office holiday dinner here and 15 people attended. We did a set menu which had 3 courses. The first course was Labneh with bread, hummus, & beef tartare. Second course was Lamb pide & pear salad. Third course was grilled branzino, middle eastern fried chicken, black truffle rice, and thrice cooked fries. Then there was dessert which was chocolate mousse cake & baklava. Because of my many food allergies the main server for our table was very attentive & specific in asking me what I wanted as modifications. For example I got a wagyu beef pide instead of the lamb. Every dish was really delicious, presented well & quite filling. I couldn't eat all of the food. Though I tried almost everything. Service: The pacing of the dishes was quite masterful. They really paid attention to when the food was going to come out. As I mentioned above the main server was very attentive to my food allergies. I really appreciated that as some restaurants aren't as attentive. The food was served family style so everyone could take what they wanted from the serving dishes. The dishes were served in little bowls along the tables with each bowl serving about 4 people. We had asked for one long table so it was a little snug. But we made it work. Ambiance: For dinner the lighting of the space is really dim. LOL. I would have appreciated just a little bit more light. The restaurant is in an old building so to use the washroom you had to go down two flights of stairs. The dining area is small also. But it's a pretty space. As mentioned above we asked for one long table to seat 15 people. I was expecting square tables but it was a bunch of small round tables pushed together. So the tables were really crowded with food from all the dishes. But the servers made sure to take empty serving dishes away as soon as possible. The music was a little loud for me so I had to yell to be heard. The place was packed though. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food, the service & atmosphere. The restaurant is close to Roy Thompson Hall & the other theatres nearby so it's a convenient location as well. It's too bad this place is only open for dinner. I would have loved to see how they would operate a lunch time service. In any case, Byblos was amazing. I would come back here again to try other dishes! Note: Some of my pics of the main dishes didn't turn out so it's mostly desserts that are pictures

Estiatorio Milos - RAW FISH PLATTER Tuna sashimi, Tsipoura sashimi, salmon tartare

The open fish market adds to the experience, and the drink selection is solid. Parking isn't the easiest (expect nearby office garages) but if you're there for a weekday dinner, they offer complimentary valet at the St. Regis, which helps. Service 5/5 Top tier. Staff are polished, attentive, and actually know the menu. Recommendations were on point, and everything felt seamless without being overbearing. It's the details that make it stand out, the attention to detail and the care when serving and presenting the food. Food 4.5/5 Went with the lunch menu (great value with an appetizer and main). Quality is consistent with what you'd expect from Milos: fresh, simple, and done properly. They're also mindful of time; if you mention you're on a tight schedule, they can accommodate a one-hour lunch without making it feel rushed. Had the salmon along with salmon tartare and the octopus. Good variety for the prix fixe lunch menu too. So far the best salmon tartare I've had in city.

If you're pressed for time, just let them know when you order - they'll plan to have you out within the hour, or they pick up the tab. I, on the other hand, was in no rush. The staff read the room, paced the meal accordingly, and let us linger comfortably. With four starters and eight mains to choose from (three with supplements), there's plenty of variety, though seafood clearly takes centre stage. I leaned fully into the sea and wasn't disappointed. The salmon tartare was surprisingly, with large chunks of fresh salmon tossed with herbs and finely minced red pepper, giving the dish a bright, meaty freshness. In the dead of winter, that first bite genuinely felt like sunshine - apologies for getting philosophical, but it really hit home. While crostini were scarce, every table receives a basket of freshly grilled bread and a wasteful pour of olive oil. Carb lovers don't worry, there's plenty to scoop up that tartare. The whole dorade royal grilled might sound exotic, but you've likely seen it elsewhere under its more familiar name: sea bream. At Milos, it arrives deboned and finished simply with olive oil, herbs, and capers. That said, if you're squeamish about bones, proceed with caution as the deboning accuracy seems to vary. My plate had only a couple stragglers, while my dining companion's fish had several lingering behind. The dish is simple, clean, and ideal for lunch, so it satisfies without tipping you into post-meal drowsiness. The steamed vegetables were overcooked, though that may appeal to those who prefer their cruciferous vegetables soft rather than crunchy. For anyone who wants to channel a bit of Don Draper energy without returning to work tipsy, Milos' 3oz lunch pours are a great idea. And if you decide to lean in just a little more, they can easily be doubled into a proper glass.

It's perhaps unfair to judge, because though I enjoyed my steak wrap (and it didn't claim to be shawarma), I didn't enjoy it as much as getting a shawarma at many other places and also spent nearly twice the amount. It was still fairly good however, and the $5 draught beer special was a good deal for sure. I still don't regret getting this ahead of the Raptors game and getting food that would have been even more expensive and nowhere near as good.

In a pita with garlic aioli, sour cream, tomato and pickles.") Who can say no to a concoction like that? Not this guy, that's for sure. It was probably about 15 minutes between the time I ordered and when I got the food, so this is clearly not the place to go if you're in a rush. But I'd say the food was worth the wait. That cheese crust is the obvious star of the show here, while the fresh, soft bread is also quite delicious. The other components are tasty too, but the patty itself is the weakest link. It didn't have any kind of crust and just seemed a little on the bland side. But that's a minor complaint for a rather decadent lunch that I quite enjoyed eating.
