I read some others' reviews after having food in this restaurant. I then knew the owner prepares the food every morning at dawn. The food here doesn't just look fresh. They are indeed fresh. People living in urban areas like Toronto don't often eat healthy food. It is suggested to eat "rainbow" foods daily, which means to have foods of more than 5 colours so you can get enough nutrition. I think you can easily have rainbow food in Lebanon Express. The different ingredients in the wrap or the plate you order not only make your dish fulfilling your stomach but also the nutritious foods will boost your entire body. They will only serve you half the rice portion in the bowl. If you ask for a full bowl of rice, they'll count that as one of the sides. That's right, you lose one of the two sides if you just ask for them to fill up the part where rice is supposed to go. Arguing about the absurdity of this makes me feel like an idiot. Have you ever walked down a street during lunchtime and wondered what in the world that smell is coming from cause it smelled so dang good?! This was what happened to us when we walked by Lebanon Express cause it was right outside the exit of our hotel on Yonge street! They had their doors open and we just smelled something wonderful that we needed to eat! We walked in and decided to order a Beef/Lamb Shawarma and some other things to try! Boy was the shawarma moist and flavorful! And fresh with that lettuce and sauce! Finance thought it was the best thing we had the whole trip, and it was decently priced! His exact words were, I thought we had good food in Houston but this shawarma blows away all shawarmas I've ever had before! He loved it and I have to agree, it was good. He actually came back a 2nd time cause he loved it so much! I see a trend here, wanting to come back to everything we tried for the first time. Toronto food scene really impressed us! We stopped by Lebanon Express to grab a quick lunch to-go as it was near our hotel. There is a fantastic selection of freshly made foods available to choose from. The service was good although a little hurried even though there was no one behind us in line. The prices were good for the amount of food received. Do yourself and your taste buds a favor and check it out! I chose the falafel plate with a choice of three salads, plus two veggie samosas. We weren't starving and this ended up being a fair amount for the two of us to share. The salad selection was amazing. Unfortunately, nothing was labeled as I would have loved to have known what they were, but there were so many brightly colored and delicious looking options to choose from. We had a potato and sautéed vegetable salad (warm), which was a little disappointing and the only thing I wasn't wild about. We were kind of hurried through the line so the gentleman helping us suggested this and I just said sure, but I wish I hadn't. The other two salads we had were so much better. One was a PHENOMENAL kale salad with apples and cranberries, in a DIVINE vinaigrette dressing. Honestly one of the best salads I've ever eaten. The third was also excellent, with tomatoes and other veggies in a light dressing. All of this came with some fun pickled vegetables like red onion and cucumbers, and a few delicious sauces. The falafel was delicious and well-made, as were the samosas, which were served with delicious hummus. Everything we tried, except the warm potato and vegetable option, was excellent. The man who runs this place is always up and at em at the brake of dawn chopping and prepping the food for the day ahead. Family owned and run, good honest people making good honest food. I eat here several times a month and always enjoy the food. Literally everything is great on the menu, I can vouch for how fresh it is as I work nearby and see these guys prepping every day making some delicious eats for their customers. Update review: This place went from my go to shawarma stop a 4-5/5 to 2/5 now. Why? Quality has significantly gone down. The garlic sauce is watery with little flavour now, the salads are plain and bland (that beet salad is incredibly lazy), they no longer let you choose 3 salads anymore (the high quality salads was a big reason I was a fan of this place). It's such a shame. This seemed to have all started when they increased their prices (plates) overnight from about $10 to $15/16. I immediately stopped going. Their revenue must have proved it was a mistake so they've since decreased their plates to $14 which in today's market is fair value. But the quality is disappointing. I don't recommend anymore. Hope the owners see this and go back to their old ways. read more

TL;DR Fast healthy lebanese food, with huge portions. Chicken Shwarma Salad - you get a choice of 4 salads. Chicken combo dinner - you get a choice of 3 salads, rice + potatoes. We highly recommend the roasted veggies and tabouleh but not the chickpea salad where the chickpeas felt undercooked. The chicken was a bit dry in our dishes but still flavourful. Delicious, lots of meat, for good price! I like their chicken shawarma plate, with very tasty sides, and delicious sauces. Update: portion size seems a bit inconsistent over time though. They seem to give more food in each platter if you order more food? e.g. The very first time I bought two platters, and each platter was loaded with food with more items included, which I loved. Subsequently, when I bought only one platter each time, not as many items were included. Also, different servers seem to give different amount of food. After a couple more visits I'm finally going to pass judgement on this shawarma place. My first visit was at peak lunch hours & it was busy so I was a little more forgiving. My next 2 visits were not during peak operating times. The chicken shawarma was ok nothing really to say, maybe a little dry. You can get the same quality at any other shawarma vendor in the city. How they treat each customer is an issue for me. When one group of people receives preferential service over another it's discrimination in my eyes. I don't want to use the "R" word but if it walks & talks like a duck then this place is definitely quacking. So if you are Caucasian, Middle Eastern or African, count yourselves the lucky ones. I wish I could rate this a 10. I work in the area and have come to this place for the last 5+ years. I tried it and I can't stop going! My go-to meal is the Beef Shawarma Salad Plate. Honestly, the combination of 3 tangy healthy salads, beef, tahini, garlic, hot sauce and pickled turnips makes my appetite wake up (and I just finished a plate now)!. I have yet to find another Shawarma restaurant that actually serves salad like Lebanon Express does (other places consider salad lettuce, tomatoes and onion). I was done with a walking tour just before lunch, and was super famished when I chanced upon this place that looked like it could provide me with sustenance on a budget. So in I went, and got a very pleasant surprise. It got the chicken roll and boy was it full of flavor. You get chicken, hummus, garlic sauce, the standard shwarma veggies, rolled into a pita that is toasted. Everything was fresh and delicious. I lived in Copenhagen before this where they swear by their kebabs, but this place throws Copenhagen a pretty mean gauntlet. An unexpected find after shopping across the street at winners. This small Lebanese spot has the freshest and best salads. I got a fish filet plate that came with 3 sides - beets, tabouleh and sauteed eggplant, peppers, chickpeas and potatoes that was sooo tasty. I will be walking 20 minutes from my office for lunch here in the summer for sure! The only downside is the price of 1 wrap was $13 and it only came with one side. This place really gives you your moneys worth. I ordered a fish plate, which comes with a fish fillet, your choice of three salads, rice, a potato piece, and your choice of sauce PLUS a pita. After trying some not so good mediterranean food, I am glad I stopped by this place (located close to Yonge and College subway station). The food looks and tastes really good, very flavourful and fresh. People working there were very friendly and nice. Helped with the menu and even gave us some samples before buying. Falafels were made fresh right in front of me (we took extra falafels that was $1.99 for 3 falafels - very soft and good). The salad bar was tasty too, loved the beets, tabouli salad with lentils or chickpeas. Very delicious potatoes and chicken shawarma! I was very impressed by this small place (they have few tables where to sit and eat. Or you can have a take-out.) Have to admit that chicken shawarma was one of the best I have tasted in the last year or so. The pieces were white meat without any ugly or fat pieces as I have been served in other places. Wow! I think I found my new favourite local shwarma place! Ever since Ghazele on Wellesley closed, I've been in search of good shwarma in and around the Village. Dropped into Lebanon Express this evening and picked up 2 Chicken Shwarma Wraps. They were absolutely delicious! We were amazed at how fresh everything tasted, and the wrap itself was huge! I'm going to start this review by saying that I am knocking off stars for their recent increase in price. A shawarma plate is now in the $13 range which is ridiculous. Their salad in a tiny little clear plastic container is $7 or you can pay $8 for a Styrofoam box which they really didn't fill that much. C'mon! They used to be much more affordable but I feel that ever since Halal Guys moved in, Lebanon Express has jacked up their prices to compete. That being said, their toum is out of this world, and their salads aren't bad (their fattoush needs more lemon and pita chips though). They also have authentic drinks from Lebanon and good baklava. I'll still come here every once in awhile but with their new prices, I just can't justify it as much anymore, which is a shame as I used to come here all the time. I can't express how much I love the falafels here. They're huge and incredibly delicious. I haven't found a place that compares. There are two places in Scarborough that are also pretty close to this but I have a soft spot for this place. Buy extra garlic sauce...it's so good! Customer service is always prompt and friendly. My eating companions tell me their shawarma is also killer. The place isn't really a sit down for long joint but decent when you're looking for a quick place to grab a bite.
