To our surprise, we got nothing but a quick safety briefing, a talk about how to operate a door, and a quick rundown of how to use the restroom. Keep in mind this was a group of all adults. As we departed the marina to head out to the ocean, little did we know that would be the last we would see of our dear boat captain. He said nothing else to us for the remainder of the day. No explanation as to what he had planned for the day, no explanation as to what we would be fishing for, not even a where ya guys from. The hospitality was a ZERO. These guys made us feel like we had absolutely ruined their day for just stepping aboard their boat. DO NOT BOOK! I left two stars due to the fact that we did catch fish. Two fish to be exact, and when we did, once again the captain and his first mate had no hospitality. Yelling at us, "Get in the chair! What are you guys doing?" Maybe we would have know what to do if someone gave us a quick briefing on "Here's what to do when we hook up on one guys" BUT AGAIN WE GOT NOTHING!! Lastly, upon returning to the marina we were waiting for our two small fish to be processed and the Captain of the charter felt that it was necessary to come and haggle us for additional money. In his words, "hey you guys didn't tip". Our response, "you're absolutely right, you guys didn't do anything at all". He was mind blown. He said we needed to come up with additional money and to include a tip. When we said no, he said that our cash amount we had given him was short $60.00 when it was 100% not. This was an all around disappointment from the beginning to the end with nothing but false hope, 0 communication, and a Captain/Son duo that probably ought to just hang it up and stop chartering as a whole. In short, AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

The Captain's son was so unfriendly I didn't even get his name. I know the other kid was Caden, and there was nothing going on there either. They had no personality whatsoever, at least around families and kids, all of whom were well behaved. No explanation about where we were going or what we were doing. The deckhands vaped and ate on deck, talking to themselves and didn't move much. They didn't catch much fish either, which I understand can be the luck of the draw, but if their technique was at all like their personalities, it's no wonder we were mostly empty handed. Avoid this outfitter at all costs if you want to interact with the crew or if you are looking for friendly people. Would absolutely not recommend with kids and families.

CATCHING is ALL we did with these boys! We had an AMAZING and beautiful day out on the water with the kids, they loved learning about the process and so did the adults! At the end of the excursion we walked off the boat with a whopping 40 pounds of shrimp and FULL bushel of crab! IT WAS EPIC, The quality of the shrimp and crab was absolutely beautiful to see! We EASILY got back in seafood what we paid for this trip!!! So if you go out and do the same be sure to remember and tip WELL because these boys deserve it! WE WILL BE BACK!

We got tons of shrimps! OMG...loads of fresh shrimps and crabs and some catfish! We were THRILLED. The Capitan and his crew member were super nice and helpful. Our first visit in this place, we talked to Kelly and she's a very sweet, friendly and helpful. She recommended places to fish, possible fish to catch without over promising and bait to use. We also asked her about the charter and she hooked us later in the week to go fishing inshore (about 4-5 miles in the Atlantic). This was our first time experience in the area and of course, I didn't expect to catch anything but just to experience the trip. Captain George was very experienced and fun to be on the boat. Very professional and friendly and good at what he does (navigating the boat safely and finding the fish). Noah was our first mate; quiet and fun kid to be on the boat helping us all with our catch. Thanks Noah for all your help The other folks on the boat were funny and was just having fun during our entire time fishing. It was a great experience with great people in the boat enjoying the day fishing. At the end of the trip, we took home about 15 good size spanish mackerel. This year the weather wasn't great, but we still managed to catch 200 lbs of tuna. Captain Reed did keep us updated on the weather report and offered us the option to reschedule. We chose not to reschedule and are happy with that decision. Captain Reed's boat is clean and well maintained. The cabin is air conditioned and has ample space for storing our items (including refrigerator space). There is a bathroom, table, and couch in the cabin. Then additional shaded seating on the deck. Fishing equipment is high quality and the first mate keeps the lines baited and maintained. A chair is set up that holds the rod making it much easier to reel in your catch. You keep your catch and have the option at the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center to have your catch cleaned. Tips: They fill up quick so book in advance. Full-day charters are recommended in NC as it takes about 2-3 hours to reach the best fishing spots.
