Welcome to Duck Town Park and Boardwalk in lovely Duck, NC. It's a real family and entertainment destination with an amphitheater, picnic shelter, and playground. Without question, the boardwalk and piers are the centerpiece of the property, measuring over 4,000 feet long and ten feet wide. You can take some beautiful photos of the boardwalk hovering over the water or silhouetted against the sky. The scenery along the boardwalk is gorgeous with pretty views of the Sound, sand dunes, fallen trees, and seagrass. We saw plenty of people taking advantage of the beautiful weather and simply strolling along the boardwalk or ducking into stores, bars, and restaurants, or relaxing on one of the twenty-one benches. Even the most basic obstacles are at least a story off the ground so know that going in. My 8-year-old thought it was such fun but I must say some of the balance obstacles w no edge got me spooked. You cannot pass ppl in front of you so watch who is ahead of you. If slow and scared, be prepared to hold on an obstacle.

While visiting the beach for the day, I brought my dogs here to let some energy out. I was not expecting there to be a group of regulars here so early. Right away they welcomed us and our dogs played nicely together. There are three sections to the dog park. One for large dogs on the left, the middle for senior dogs, and the right side for smaller dogs. There are places to sit, waste stations, water, and a dog wash. My dogs had a great time running around and meeting everyone. The park provides ample shade and room to run around. The dog owners were attentive and welcoming. They provided recommendations for places to visit in the area and one gave me a sticker after her dog jumped up on me (so creative and hilarious). Apple maps will take you to a parking lot by the arboretum and pond. The sign does not mention the dog park, but it is a close walk nearby. There is a parking lot closer to the dog park if you do not want to walk as far. Overall, great experience at this park and we recommend it to others!

The dog park is big and is separated into two (2) section, a large and small section, perhaps for larger and smaller dogs? The entire dog park is perhaps the same size of a half a football field? Large. There are water bowls and a trash can but we did found dog waste in the park, not picked up by their owners which is unfortunate. But overall is it was nice. I would say about 2/3 of the park is sand and 1/3 grass. I would return to take my dog here.

A guy broke the line on a large skate or ray at one point, at the end of the pier, so there's good stuff to be had. For bait he had been using a spot his son caught in the middle of the pier, so work that upselling magic here if you can. Service was generally good, but an employee yelled at me for parking in the handicapped spot, despite my handicapped placard, just because he didn't see my father walking with a cane on the other side of the vehicle. I even pointed to the placard when he first mentioned it, but he said it again. Maybe just look next time? Maybe I have a disability you can't see? Oh well. There are other fishing piers down here that I can go to next time I come down. Maybe the people there won't jump on me for not breaking the law.
