Enjoyed a half-day fishing charter with my family. Boat was large enough to accommodate all six of us without feeling crowded. Trip was 5.5 hours instead of standard 4 hours. Captain and mate were patient and very helpful. We caught 20+ fish, half were keepers. They cleaned and cut the fish for us. We left with ready to cook fillets and a few dozen crabs. Went on a morning charter during our week stay in OBX. Max was our captain and Luke was our mate. It was a smooth ride, very comfortable boat, and the crew helped us catch our fish limit very quickly. We had a diverse party of experienced and inexperienced fishers and everyone enjoyed their time. My kids and I had great trip out to Albermale Sound with Captain Max. The boat is comfortable and they made the whole process as easy as can be. We didn't catch a lot that was in season or large enough to keep, but it was enough for a nice dinner and we all enjoyed the day. They also were very respectful about masks and social distancing when we asked for that (not everyone in the Outer Banks is cooperative about that!). Glad we found this crew. read more

Captain Buz and his deck hand Max did a GREAT job on our charter. My buddy and I chartered the Jawfly for a half day fishing trip with our sons (5 of us in total). Buz was firm with his expectations of the boys (10, 11 & 12) with regard to the safety, gave us a short brief on his boat (fire extinguishers, life jackets, the head, etc.) and we shoved off. I sat up front with Buz on the way out and he was more than happy to answer all my questions, show me the various navigation gauges, and share his knowledge as an ol salty captain. We pulled up to a couple of spots and dropped lines immediately, Max was very good with prepping the rigs and bait. We were on the fish quickly and when the action died down we pulled our lines and moved to the next spot. Very little if any downtime once we started fishing. Max and Buz did a great job of hooking fish when the action started to die down and when the had one on the line they handed the rod off to one of our boys to reel in. Buz clean our catch on our way back and once at the dock we settled up our tab and tipped $120 for the captain and deck hand to split up. Great time, Buz and Max were great with the boys, highly recommend this charter and if we're down again we'll go back out with Captain Buz on the Jawfly!! read more

We had the pleasure of going out with Captain Buzz and his son Max early June 2022. We showed up 15 minutes early and they were already waiting for us to push off. Very friendly had a cooler of ice and waters ready for us to put our drinks and food in. They were very friendly and know what they are doing to get you on some fish. I would highly recommend these guys. We ended up catching 11 keeper speckled trout and we should have limited out if we were better at setting hooks! We will definitely be back for another charter during our next visit. read more

Had a great time fishing with Captain Buz and his son Max, who were very friendly and helpful to our family of novice fishermen. A half day charter was plenty of time to motor to a bridge, where we caught a lot of catfish, stripers, spot, croaker, and sheepshead, along with a sting ray. We kept some of the catfish and sheepshead, which Max expertly filleted back at the dock -- very tasty when pan-fried back home. We also pulled up several crab pots and came home with 25+ blue crabs. Captain Buzz and ship mate Bruce are a laid back, good group of fellas. We planned a fishing charter the week of vacation for a group of 6 guys. We had a blast shipping the inner coastal for the morning. Our first cast in by the pier got us a keeper trout. We were able to reel in a number of keepers and about 40 or 50 more fish that we threw back. We finished the trip off by emptying 6 crap pods which got us about a bushel of crabs. When we got back to shore, buzz fileted our fish and showed us the inner workings of breaking apart crabs. I would definitely recommend these fellas for a shorter inner coastal fishing trip! My wife found this charter for us to take our 3 young children out for a half day of fishing and crabbing. We weren't sure honestly how it was going to go with a 9, 6, and 3 year old but Captain Buzz set the rules from the start and the kids loved what Buzz and Max taught them. My oldest son has been talking about Max for days and has been very interested in the blue crabs that we caught. We fished for several hours and caught some cat fish and then picked up 8 crab pots. Ended up with a ton of fresh seafood to last the next several days. I would recommend this charter especially for kids because it has lots of room for the kids and the Buzz and Max were fantastic with the kids! Booked a crab fishing tour for the family. Captain Buzz and mate Bruce were awesome! They are very knowledgable of the area and fishing ( answered a thousand questions from my 4 yr old ). Once done with the tour Captain Buzz showed me how to cook the crabs and taught my kids how to crack open and eat them. Already planning next years adventure! read more
