Captain Marc was an amazing guide. He led our family with three kids on a fishing adventure. The kids were able to catch a bunch of fish. He was excellent with the kids and able to relate to them. This is definitely well worth your time. He will do his best to be sure everyone has a good time. We were even able to see a group of dolphins on our way back. My kids left with the empowerment to want to do some fishing when we get home! Well worth your time and money as you will not find anyone better! He even showed us some new bait and we are definitely going to try it when we make it home! Fishbites for the win! read more

Rock On Charters - Fish - Fishing Near Me

I can't recommend this enough. We went on a 4 hour family trip with an almost 2 year old and a 3 year old and they both loved it. It was super windy out but Captain Marc found some sheltered spots and we caught a huge variety of fish. He is excellent at keeping the kids entertained and super patient with them. read more

Marc is an amazing guide. 4 of us did a really nice fishing charter with him this August. Marc set everyone at ease including the kids. He made sure to engage with everyone while still giving us some space to bond and hang out. He knows these waters super well and was able to get us 15+ fish in 2 hrs even in challenging conditions. His equipment was top notch- amazing high powered boat, plenty of tackle all ready to go with the right setup and bait on hand to catch some fish! Couldn't recommend more. read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about Captain Marc and his RockOn Charters!!! It was the absolute highlight of our trip! He took my husband and I and our 3 kids (10, 11 and 12) out for a 4h 4-8pm fishing trip. Marc is a great guy, fisherman and business man! He's fun and patient and helpful and so very knowledgeable. He's amazing with kids and had them laughing and learning and having the time of their lives! The kids knew nothing about fishing but by the end he had them all reeling them in and taking them of the hook and catching them in the live bait well. My youngest (just 10) caught one that was a good eat (a 7 inch sea mullet) and he brought it home and gutted, filleted and cooked it himself. We will be back to OBX most summers and will never miss going out with Marc! read more

Rock On Charters - Captain Mark helping out the youngest. - Fishing Near Me

If you've got kids who want to fish, look no further. I booked this charter on our first day in OBX. My husband is a charter regular, and both of my boys really wanted to get out on the boat like Daddy and catch fish. My oldest son has autism, and finding places we can take him with people that are friendly can be challenging. After our first conversation with Marc, we were confident we were going with the right guy. The kids absolutely LOVED the charter and haven't stopped talking about Captain Marc since! Marc was patient with my sons, gave them time to get a feel for the water and equipment, and put them on fish quickly. My boys are still talking about all the fish they caught and how they can't wait to go back next year. Thanks to Captain Marc for an awesome time! read more

Hands down the best charter for parents and kids. AND it's the original charter that caters to kids. Others now say they offer kid-oriented charters, but Rock On was the first, and it's inconceivable the others could be any better. Marc is an easygoing "captain" with a genuine, unassuming love of children. Within minutes of dropping anchor, he had our 11-year-old, all-girl granddaughter reeling in fish. Eventually, she was casting and catching on her own--sometimes two fish at a time. And by the time the trip was over, she was unhooking the fish and releasing them--something she had been most reluctant to do. Of course, no one can guarantee the fish are biting on any given day, but Marc knows the best places to find them if they are. He also makes the boat ride age-appropriately fun for the kids. Our granddaughter sat in the bow seat and loved it. Marc astutely gauged her level of readiness for a "little adventure," and he periodically revved the boat and deftly guided it over wakes--producing splashes of water and laugh-filled screams of glee. For summer charters, I recommend booking a morning ride to avoid the intense afternoon sun and heat. Don't overload yourselves with food and drinks. The kids will be too busy and entertained to think about eating. Our trip was definitely the highlight of our granddaughter's visit. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime thrill she will always remember. Thank you, Marc, for giving us all so much joy. read more

Marc is a fantastic charter captain. Had a 4 hour charter on a very windy day, Marc did everything possible for us to catch fish and we did!! I would recommend Rockon Charters to anyone in the OBX area. Plus he spells his name correctly Marc read more

Booked a 4hr charter a few weeks before our annual family OBX summer vacation. It was a breeze, Marc followed up right away and had the timeframe we wanted. On the day of, we arrived a bit early and he was pleasantly punctual. Kid friendly demeanor and my 5 and 7 yr olds took to him soon after. The boat was excellent, plenty of seating and space. A nor-easter had pass a few days before and he expertly positioned the boat to minimize chop to make the kids at ease (their first fishing experience). It was clear he was knowledgeable of the water and fish. But was patient and approachable as kids peppered him with questions. Fishing was good given the recent drop in water temps. Although, none were keepers, the hits came and the kids had loads of fun! I recommend Capt. Marc and Rock-On Charters without reservation. Will book again next season. read more

We had a fantastic time!!! Many of us had not fished in the ocean and The Captain did a great job scouting out where the fish are, making recommendations for where to go, and the customer service was spot on. Thanks for a great time! read more

Great fishing trip! We did the kid adventure and couldn't have found a better charter than the one Rock On offers. Captain Marc is easy going and friendly which translates well in getting young ones involved. We had a party of 6 , with ages ranging from 6 to 14. 1st charter for all. Within minutes of dropping anchor Marc had the kids reeling them in. He was patient and even had the kids removing thier own hooks almost immediately. Nothing but smiles and fun the entire afternoon. Highly recommend RockOn to anyone looking to have a fun time fishing with the family. read more

My experience with rock on charters was incredible. I brought my son-in-law and my 4 grandchildren ages 6 to 11 on their four-hour adventure fishing trip. This was the first-time fishing for two of them. They caught a lot of small fish and even some nice size trout. He showed them how to reel up the fish and hold them. Great for pictures. He has a great way with children. He made the experience for each one of my grandchildren very memorable. I would highly recommend Capt. Marc for a children's fishing experience. read more

Just got back from a Family Reunion in Nags Head. There were 8 of us that wanted to fish and when fishing the inlets, you really don't want more than 4 or 5 people on the boat at a time. Captain Marc called on one of his Guide Buddies, Captain Matt and was able to accommodate all 8 of us. We had some windy and cool weather that day but Captain Marc was able to turn us on to some fish. We caught enough fish to feed the family that night with some awesome Baja fish tacos. Captain Marc is VERY patient and family friendly. He's a lot of fun to fish with. We were competing with the other set of family members on Captain Matt's boat and we WON. We caught the most fish! If you are looking for someone who has been fishing this area most of his life, and someone who is family friendly and patient, even for those that have never fished before, you'll want to call on Captain Marc with Rock On Charters. If you are an experienced "fisher person", he'll hook you up with a special charter geared towards the type of fishing you want to do. We'll definitely be going out with Marc again. Thanks Captain Marc for an AWESOME time. read more
