Great food, and helpful service. A great Indian spot if you are in the Monroeville area, I highly recommend checking this place out

Had a great time here! As appetizers, we got the samosa and fried channa garlic. The samosas were so good, but even better was the green chutney! The channa garlic was a good mix between crispy and soft. My dad ordered the tomato soup and it was AMAZING. The seasonings in it were great. As the main meal my parents and I shared the Saag Paneer, Dal Pancharatan, Veg Makhanwala, Tandoori Roti, and Mint Truffle Naan. It was soo filling for us and we ended up with leftovers! The food was amazing! Overall not a bad Indian food place in/around Pittsburgh. This is up there for my favorite Indian restaurants in Pittsburgh. Also a convenient location as the local Indian grocery store is near by.

Very good, cool new spot in Monroeville. They have a more modern take on Indian cuisine, but still maintain many of the classic dishes. I got to try their chai, tandoori laccha paratha, and dal pancharatan. Everything was great. The chai was a little on the smaller side for takeout, but still quite flavorful. Pretty solid. The laccha paratha was also really good. It was grilled very nicely, still had the layers very visible and it just had a great overall wheat flavor to it. The main dish, the dal, was really excellent. It was my first time having this variation of dal, and the spice level was just right. They include various kinds of beans in it, as well as a few vegetables. The rice was also quite nice surprisingly, had more flavor than the typical side of rice most places give out.

So much to say but I'm gonna be brief. The food here is not bad, but as someone who has eaten at Upidi for 13 years it simply doesn't compare (actually longer as we ate at their Columbus Ohio location for a decade before). I had a comparable dish to Udipi's dal makhani and I was so disappointed. It was bland and flavorless. Then we ordered the Tandori chicken wings, they looked so good. They were disappointing too. I've had fantastic Tandori chicken in the past and the flavors are no die for. But these wings had none of that. Granted neither dish was bad but I will stick with Udipi and continue looking for an Indian restaurant with meat dishes when we do have the urge.

NEW INDIAN FOOD SPOT! I love a new spot and I really love a new spot with great food. Located in the old Patron, we checked out @haveli_pgh! The place has a cool atmosphere with arches and fountains when you enter. We tried a little of everything: Chapati Paneer Tikka Tandoori Masala Wings Old Delhi Butter Chicken Goat Biryani Don't forget the Garlic Naan I'm someone that likes a slight kick, so a 6 spice level was perfect for me, but regardless I enjoyed every bite.

Everything was wonderful! The server suggested different spice levels and combinations, the meal was well-paced and not rushed. It was quite busy for a Satuday lunch crowd, and now I know why! We'll definitely be back.

    Cauliflower appetizer

We rarely make it out to Monroeville but decided to make the trek for a rare date night. The food was spectacular. We got the old Delhi butter chicken and chicken pasanda curries with goat cheese and garlic naan. The real standout was the cauliflower appetizer though. A blend of flavors I wouldn't have thought to put together and completely delicious. Also got tandoori chicken wings. Were a bit smaller than pictures online suggested, but still tasty. Service was a bit mid for a quiet Thursday night, but the food made up for it.

Absolutely amazing food! Everything was delicious and the spice level was perfect. Food was warm and hit just right on a cold day. The service was excellent, fast and very kind. The restaurant was so warm and smelled amazing, lots of people laughing and enjoying each other's company. Check it out!

Lamb Rogan Josh, Saag Paneer and a chicken curry

Why 5 stars? Because Yelp won't let you give 6 or more stars! The food here is mind blowing. From the second you walk in, the aroma hits your nose and you know you're in for a flavor explosion. I saw pictures of the food before we got there and I could just tell this one was going to be special. Haveli is so far and away the best restaurant in Monroeville that there isn't a close second. Might be the best in the Pittsburgh area. It's seriously that good.

Well, either something else in the food acts like a "nut" or they just don't actually know what's in their ingredients. Good thing UPMC East is just up the road, as I had to rush my daughter to the ER. I can't blame the restaurant fully, as I should have done a little more in-depth research on Indian cuisine, and there was definitely a communication problem! I'm not a negative person, so now that I've said the above warning, I will say the food was delicious. I asked for a spicier version of chicken curry, you know, where your lips burn, but in a good way, and you just cant wait for the next bite! Definitely quality ingredients (and I'm betting they use cashew flour as a thickening agent)! The restaraunt is very clean. I would give the food a 4 out of 5. My daughter liked her rice, and honestly, had it not been for the required Emergency Room visit, she would have gave the place a 3!

I ordered a combo with tikka chicken and butter chicken which was okay but not great. The sauce on the butter chicken was not very rich like butter chicken usually is. It was supposed to have paneer but only had like one piece and definitely had what seemed to be a bag of microwave veggies in it (including corn) and was not spiced correctly - very plain. It felt like it was made in a microwave from leftovers. Her order came with Raita and it smelled very off and funky. The samosas and soup that we ordered were both okay. Overall very weird, we won't be back. Back to Peoples for our Indian take out!

There was an appetizer that I had never heard of or tried before, so I wanted to try it (similar to a pani puri). I was ordering for takeout, but they said if I wanted this I really should eat it in house immediately because the shell would get soggy and not be as good. I appreciate the tip because I would not have otherwise known that. And I am so glad I ordered it because it was delicious! The combination of the sauces with the shell and contents was a flavor blast. Definitely something I will order again. For the bowl, I did a build your own. They also have pre-designed bowls that might help if you are feeling overwhelmed with the choices. I made mine with white rice, paneer tikka, tiki masala sauce and several of the toppings. The portions were generous and they answered my questions about ingredients and let me sample sauces while I was making my decisions. When I thought about adding something that sounded good, they advised me against it saying it wouldn't work together with what I had already put in (but weren't pushy about it). I appreciated the feedback. The bowl was delicious and filling. I enjoyed every single bite and it was the kind of meal where I was actually sad when it was gone because I enjoyed it that much. I'm not in the Robinson area that often, but I would definitely come back any time I'm around.
