Fresh, flavorful food options. Great option for a family style meal to share! We wanted a fun lunch with friends after church and decided to try Haveli. The restaurant didn't change much on the interior from the previous Mexican restaurant, but with a few decor pieces... they made the vibe their own! The staff is very attentive and helpful. We literally asked what would they suggest for four people that don't generally eat Indian food and they suggested the perfect taste endeavor. We started with the Tandoori Masala Wings. The meat is so well marinated and the spices add such a pop of flavor. With the yogurt drizzle and coriander dip, the dish is so well thought out for just an appetizer. We did share everything between the four of us.. which seems like the best option.. as the dishes come out in pots and bowls placed in the center of the table. Next came the Hakka Noodles... we opted for a mix of Chicken/Veg... the chicken was the same tandoori marinated delicious bites and the veggies were delicious. If you are a lo mein fan, hakka noodles are the place to be. I mean... butter chicken is always a good selection... it may be the only Indian food that I know well... but the Old Delhi Butter Chicken is amazing!!! Such tender chunks of meat and a tasty tomato gravy! Don't forget to order some naan bread to dip into all of the flavorful sauces! Chicken Dum Biryani was the largest portion and it didn't disappoint. The rice base absorbed all of the seasoning and flavors and the chicken had such a warm spice to it, which complemented the more subtle flavors of the butter chicken. We will be back! My husband and I were in town for the Pittsburgh Card Show. We usually go to a new restaurant and we love Indian food so we decided to stop at Haveli's. It wasn't a disappointment. Very good food and it wasn't crazy busy. We had the Old Dahli Butter Chicken and garlic naan. We also had the creamy corn soup as a starter. Everything was delicious! Everyone seems to be talking about "the new Indian restaurant" in Monroeville (including people who don't live anywhere near the area) so I'm glad that I finally had a chance to try it. I can see why there has been so many positive comments and rave reviews. Everything about our experience was incredible. We were seated right when we arrived and it was pretty packed with just a few empty tables. They do take reservations, and when I asked was told that some weekend nights they do have waits, so if you have a larger party or need a specific time, it is always better to call for a reservation. You can very much tell this used to be a Mexican restaurant, but they've added little touches to make it not quite as Mexican appearing. (except the bathroom). There are a variety of tables and then a raised section under an awning along the windows. Seating was comfortable and spaced out. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. I was dining with a friend who I hadn't seen in awhile, so we got chatty and hadn't looked at the menu yet. He told us to wave him down when we were ready (but also did check in once before we we quite ready). It was nice to give us the time that we needed instead of hounding us to order. A nice touch was that the owner stopped by twice to introduce himself and tell us a little about the restaurant. He gave some suggestions on menu items that were unique to their restaurant. We started with an order of Samosa. There were three samosa served with two different sauces. They were delicious (as were the sauces) but I do wish there would have been more for the price and size that they were. I liked that there were some unique naan options. I ordered the goat cheese naan because I've never had goat cheese naan before and it sounded delicious. My friend ordered the rosemary naan. We both thought they were packed with flavor. I ordered the Pasanda with lamb. It was similar to a Korma but with more flavor. The lamb is what really made it shine. It was really tender and packed with flavor. At the recommendation of the owner, my friend tried the Saoju curry but substituted lamb for the chicken. It was very aromatic with hints of things like cinnamon. Apparently it is a dish unique to this restaurant but common in the owner's hometown. It is definitely something I'll try on a future visit. Haveli is Reva's new sister restaurant and like Reva, they have no misses! The interior is gorgeous and the staff is lovely! They have a dry bar concept and we started off the meal with delicious mocktails - my favorite was the dragon peach mojito! We then moved onto apps, naan, and mains. All our dishes had great presentation and everything SO flavorful. My favorites were the tender lamb chops, the spicy chicken angara, the crispy naan, and the butter chicken with the most incredible sauce! You need to put Haveli on your to go list! read more

Had a great time here! As appetizers, we got the samosa and fried channa garlic. The samosas were so good, but even better was the green chutney! The channa garlic was a good mix between crispy and soft. My dad ordered the tomato soup and it was AMAZING. The seasonings in it were great. As the main meal my parents and I shared the Saag Paneer, Dal Pancharatan, Veg Makhanwala, Tandoori Roti, and Mint Truffle Naan. It was soo filling for us and we ended up with leftovers! The food was amazing! Overall not a bad Indian food place in/around Pittsburgh. This is up there for my favorite Indian restaurants in Pittsburgh. Very good, cool new spot in Monroeville. They have a more modern take on Indian cuisine, but still maintain many of the classic dishes. I got to try their chai, tandoori laccha paratha, and dal pancharatan. Everything was great. The chai was a little on the smaller side for takeout, but still quite flavorful. Pretty solid. The laccha paratha was also really good. It was grilled very nicely, still had the layers very visible and it just had a great overall wheat flavor to it. The main dish, the dal, was really excellent. It was my first time having this variation of dal, and the spice level was just right. They include various kinds of beans in it, as well as a few vegetables. The rice was also quite nice surprisingly, had more flavor than the typical side of rice most places give out. read more

So much to say but I'm gonna be brief. The food here is not bad, but as someone who has eaten at Upidi for 13 years it simply doesn't compare (actually longer as we ate at their Columbus Ohio location for a decade before). I had a comparable dish to Udipi's dal makhani and I was so disappointed. It was bland and flavorless. Then we ordered the Tandori chicken wings, they looked so good. They were disappointing too. I've had fantastic Tandori chicken in the past and the flavors are no die for. But these wings had none of that. Granted neither dish was bad but I will stick with Udipi and continue looking for an Indian restaurant with meat dishes when we do have the urge. read more

The place has a cool atmosphere with arches and fountains when you enter. We rarely make it out to Monroeville but decided to make the trek for a rare date night. The food was spectacular. We got the old Delhi butter chicken and chicken pasanda curries with goat cheese and garlic naan. The real standout was the cauliflower appetizer though. A blend of flavors I wouldn't have thought to put together and completely delicious. Also got tandoori chicken wings. Were a bit smaller than pictures online suggested, but still tasty. Service was a bit mid for a quiet Thursday night, but the food made up for it. read more

I wish I could give 3.5. The food was great, and I love how they redecorated the restaurant. Good portions and decent variety. Tasted very authentic. The reason I'm giving "3.5" stars is due to the wait. We waited at our table for about 15-20 mins before being addressed. The water is sketch and I don't feel comfortable with flat water that's been sitting there prior to my arrival and has more bubbles in it than a carbonated soda. Also, the price isn't my favorite. Probably the best Indian food I've had in this area! Everything we ordered was delicious and well seasoned, well-sized portions, with a good amount of meat in each dish. The chicken biryani was some of the best I've had and had a good amount of chicken. The butter chicken and vindaloo were also delicious. We got the chicken angara as an appetizer which also was a good portion (it is a fried chicken with spicy sauce) and perfectly spiced. We can't wait to go back! Definitely want to try other menu items. It is BYOB. Went to Haveli's today for the first time and it was amazing!! As soon as you walk through the door you're greeted by Haveli's friendly staff. The host & servers were great.
