My favorite dish is the ropa vieja. It is not spicy but flavorful with the ingredients with black beans and rice killer combo for me. The portion amount is in your favor and great tasting. Also the pastries are good as well the recommend the guava and cream cheese pastries with their coffee afterwards if you have room in your panza! Also the music is badass can't go wrong with the salsa classics such as hector lavoe and etc!! read more

Wine tasting followed by Cuban food? Yes please! We weren't sure what to expect from this place but the reviews convinced us we had to try it. Went here on accident and am glad I did. This is a hidden gem if you ask me. I love coming to a place where you can smell food once you walk in, a true sign of freshly made. The sandwiches are amazing and you guaranteed want to come back. Friendly staff and great food. read more

I really like this place but gotta tell you this morning really irked me. I was there at 8:15 for some breakfast and they were to open at 8am. The doors were locked and the lady inside wouldn't even look at me. No explanation on door or anything. This is how place go out of business quick, inconsistent and inconsiderate. My husband and I along with our best friends go for Sunday Coffee and breakfast. Their coffee and food are AMAZING. My only concern is that the food service is a little slow. Wife and I are regulars here. I usually get the Super Cubano, which is chock full of flavor and awesomeness. Last time I was there, I tried the Steak plate with mojo sauce. It was incredibly flavorful and was thoroughly enjoyable. The cuban coffee is super strong but also very tasty! read more

Worst service. I ordered my food and I waited 40 minutes to be told that my food was already out. When I finally received my food, the server did not apologize for their mistake. I had to get up and demand a refund for their shitty service. Still no apology. Not coming back. read more

When I saw the reviews for this place, I knew it had to be good. It did not disappoint. We came here looking for a good breakfast to start the day and it was absolutely delicious. I had the Cuban steak and eggs. The steak was super tender and you could taste the fresh line infused into it. My bf has the super cubano sandwich and it was also to die for. The Cuban coffee is also excellent, but know it is very, very sweet. They had no issue subbing fried plantains for my beans and rice, which is always nice customer service. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a good breakfast with different options. I know we will be back. Parking is an issue, but that's everywhere in downtown. read more

If I could give a zero for wait time, I would. My family and I waited for 1 hour and 1/2 for one meal. That's right, one. There are other establishments that give you a free dessert or coupon for waiting for an incredibly long time, but this one didn't. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. We waited standing for an hour and another 30 minutes just sitting down. The cashier was rude. Only one server was nice. I would never come back here. This wasn't a family friendly restaurant either. I don't know how this place got 4 stars. My experience was horrible. The food was alright. read more

We loved this place. While many of the items were things my wife couldn't eat, there were several great options for her. The staff was able to customize within reason, as well. Whether you want a delicious hot sandwich, a salad, soup or a hot dinner plate, they have it. It's also quite inexpensive. read more

The restaurant environment it's self is very nice and end m unexpectedly very family friendly, so that's for people with kids. The downside is there usually is no close by parking. It's down an alley so the curb spots for parking are taken up very quickly. On a better note the food and drinks (coffees/tea) are well worth finding parking. My favorite dish is the steak mojo plate. It is sooo good!!! I've also have had the appetizers, other dishes and desserts. None of them disappoint! I absolutely love this place! read more

This place never disappoints! The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious also. It's hard to pick a favorite from the menu because everything is so good, so I'll go with anything that has pork or chicken is delicious! Great food! We were a party of six, and ordered a wide range of sandwiches and salads. The food arrived in distinctly separate intervals over the next half hour, so the kitchen, despite making delicious food, was really disorganized. One of the cashier/servers comped us with some pastries, which were not as good as the rest of our food. This is a great place to try out Cuban food--highly recommended, if you are patient. read more

One of the best Cuban rest I've had in Southern California. The service is good and the food is excellent. Real Caribbean taste with the Cuban heritage flavored in. The shredded beef "(ropa vieja)" was excellent served with white rice, black beans and ripe plantains. My spouse tried the Plancha Chicken and she was delighted. This is a must go place when in Temecula but only if you want the best! The prices are reasonable and the space is adequate for the menu and selection. So "Buen Provecho". read more

Really good food overall in small, unassuming restaurant. Did not rate five stars because the items were overpriced. My family actually had to order more food after the first order came in because we saw how small the portions were. We ordered several kinds of coffees, empanadas and sandwiches, and the appetizer sampler. I'd recommend them all except maybe the potato sticks that came with the sampler... Those tasted like minced hotdog meat inside potato mash. Staff were very nice. read more

I found this place of course on Yelp. The 400 plus 4.5 star review is definitely an eye catcher! The restaurant is in a cool location just ticked off Temecula's Old Town Front Street. The menu looked really good and seemed you couldn't go wrong in ordering. We just had the empanadas combo because we weren't very hungry. It came with two empanadas, rice, beans and plantains. They also came with some yummy garlic butter dipping sauce. It was all tasty but maybe the fried empanadas gave me a stomach ache a bit. I think next time we should try some of the pork dishes to really get the Cuban flavor! This should definitely be one of your top choices when strolling through Old Town. Yelp reviews rarely let you down so give Havana a shot. read more

I've been to Havana Kitchen several times and am glad to be local so I can frequent it. My rule of thumb is to broaden my taste bud horizons every time I decide to eat out, so instead of Starbucks I try to stop here for a better morning experience. Service is always friendly, they have a dog friendly outdoor patio, and it's close to downtown. Food is consistently good, get the Cuban or ropa vieja sandwiches, potato balls, or cheese and guava pastry. Great empanadas, coffee, atmosphere, and food in general! I really love this place and it's an Old Town staple that all visitors should visit at least once! The atmosphere itself is great and feels authentic, as does the food! The staff can seem oftentimes short-tempered or irritated which I've noticed more than once, but it didn't bother me too much. History

Established in 2006.

The idea for this concept started to develop in 2001. I was driven by a simple desire to help preserve a portion of my parents and families cultural heritage for future generations - a legacy if you will. I often reflect on the sacrifice my immigrant parents made in coming to this country - as many others have - to allow me the opportunity they had lost in their beloved Cuba. It is essential for me to keep alive the "ingredients " of my culture and spirit which make us all unique, thus contributing to the diversity that makes this wonderful country thrive. In 2006, I constructed and opened a small commercial kitchen at an industrial park in Murrieta, CA. we mostly did catering. Within a couple of months I opened the front reception area (6 tables) as a dining room. The word spread rapidly of our opening within the local business community, and through word-of-mouth we established a large following. In 2012 A loyal customer offered us a commercial space in Old Town Temecula.

Since we've been going there for years it's been a walk up to the counter, place your order, then seat yourself type of place. They give you a tall table number for your order and they appreciate it when you bus your table. Hope that helps :)

I have never seen coffee tastings. But the prices are so reasonable you could probably taste 3 or 4 easily. Plus all their coffee drinks are amazing! I love ❤️ the CORDITO and the Sal Latte ☕️

The collared greens was tasty, the yam reminded me of Hawaiian poi that was starchy and earthy. The beef could've been cooked better, though. If the beef had been served tender and juicy (soaked in the collared greens sauce) I would've given 5 stars only because I don't think it was worth what we were charged for our dishes. Two pieces of beef that wasn't serving standard in my honest opinion. The store front is located in the food court of the Moreno Valley mall. There's a lot of dining tables and chairs throughout the food court and other food shops surrounding the dining court. There's tons of parking spaces and the mall wasn't very busy so parking is easy. I love African food and compared to my favorite spot in San Diego, this one is not on my list to revisit, unfortunately. Not for the price or quality.

The staff was super nice on the phone to me when they explained what it was and that we were able to turn the meat patty into a vegetarian friendly version - nice! They also had a vegetarian one! So we grabbed 2 and got 2 free then decided to also order their vegetarian curry because we thought the meat patties wouldn't be enough. But omg. It was more than enough! The meat patties were huge and thick! And so so so FLAVORFUL! When you come to their shop inside the food hall the shop looks unassuming, it's cluttered and doesn't really give me the excitement of wanting to order here but wow wow wow. Once we ate it we were like "we shouldn't have judged!" Once we dived into the curry we were just waaaay to full but the vegetarian curry was so good. Not as flavorful as the meat patty (should've had the curry first so our tastebuds wern't overwhelmed!" but still tasty nonetheless! It had so much chickpeas and the rice was pretty good! A text notification system for when orders are ready would be a helpful addition, especially for those seated away from the counter. The staff member gave an estimated time, and my food was actually ready sooner, which I wasn't aware of. While not a major issue, this is an area that could be improved. The service was friendly and helpful, and I would definitely return to try more of their dishes. While the food overall was good, a few things fell short, like the rice. Overall, it's a tough call because the food deserves more than 4 stars. Caribbean Gourmet is easily the best Caribbean spot in the SGV and my second favorite in LA County. The prices are very fair for the portion sizes, and I must highlight how affordable they are, especially these days. Kudos to Caribbean Gourmet for keeping prices affordable while serving delicious food!

Unfortunately, during my most recent visit to the Clairemont Mesa location, the food quality was noticeably different from what I remembered. Several items tasted stale, cold, and as though they had been reheated. The beans were mushy and lacked flavor, and the plantains seemed old and not freshly prepared. Overall, the meal felt below the standard I had experienced there before. I'm sharing this not to criticize harshly, but because I genuinely remember this restaurant being much better and I hope they can return to the quality and freshness that made the place special in the past. I truly want to see them succeed and improve because there is a lot of potential there.
