Wow! I was hopeful that the other reviews were wrong but it appears not. Walked in to about 10 people waiting to be seated with no hostess insight. Even flagged down 1 of 2 servers to get some seating assistance and was advised the manager would come . No one showed up. Workers walked by but didn't acknowledge the people waiting to be seated. The menu is shorter than a prix fix holiday menu. My pork was rubbery and bland. My wife compared her burger to steam in a bag camp food. My daughter asked why her steak was so thin and I look at it looks like the insole of a shoe. My other child didn't eat her burgee or fries. We paid and took them to eat after. Definitely a cool atmosphere but they need more costumed staff. The food is mediocre honestly. Bathrooms really need to be cleaner especially since they are lit by blacklight and you can see things you really shouldn't. Service has been good at times and pretty bad other times. read more

If you want to wait an hour for an incorrectly made milkshake and a re-heated piece of frozen chocolate cake, this is your place. Our server was kind and attentive, but it's clear this place has massive issues in the kitchen--the menu is too large, and items are grossly overpriced. We came (at the request of my kid) just for dessert after reading so many awful reviews about the food. Also, I'm fairly sure the water isn't filtered, as the tea tastes terrible. Creamy egg plant tasted like burnt gravy, steak was the only thing with flavor, but so much fat it was hard to get a good bite. Mashed potatoes were more of a puree, asparagus was good but could've used seasoning, the random onion and tomato on the plate was a bit odd. And the stuffed mushrooms had a texture that sort of grossed me out. We went for an early dinner (6:30) on a Tuesday. The place was almost completely empty. Even so, there was nothing special about the service. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't attentive. The ambiance is cheap Spirit Halloween. I believe the figures, like Krampus, are from Spirit Halloween. The walls are all airbrushed with glow under black light paint. I haven't seen that much airbrushing since being in a 1970s t-shirt shop at the mall. At one point a guy dressed up as Michael Myers ambled by every table and pretended to stab people. The background music was annoying. I can't describe it. It wasn't spooky, just obnoxious. Overall, it was kitschy in a bad way. The food was not good. The fried mac&cheese bits looked and tasted like they were from the Kroger freezer section. The salmon was extremely fishy and left a bad aftertaste. The cheeseburger was good. I would get it again if I ever went back, but I am not going back. I think they must of put cornstarch on their fries because they were crisp but unnaturally light for having been cooked. They tasted starchy. I only ate a few of them and had to drown them in ketchup. Perhaps if it had been full or if we had been with a large party instead of just two of us it would have been more fun. At least we could have laughed making fun of the place. But they are going to have to step up their food and service because the haunted castle theme, even if it was done better, isn't enough to keep people coming back. read more

I don't have any complaints about the food, the food was good. The service was OK. I got the vibe that the waiter was fairly new because he didn't know what drink I wanted until I showed him on the menu, which is no big deal, I can look past that. Everyone has to learn a new job right? My biggest complaint and the reason for one star is that they double charged me for our meal and said that it would be fixed and it still hasn't been fixed. So a 186$ bill cost me 372$ but they have yet to fix it. I suggest if you go pay with cash , not a card. **Update** They finally got the billing issue fixed and they made it right so updating to 4 stars. read more

The decor, ambiance, and service were great! I had made a reservation beforehand and was seated promptly when I came in. Everything I ordered was brought out quickly. My server was friendly and stopped by a couple of times while I was eating to check on me. The decor was very detailed and fun. There were a ton of props, black light paintings, and little touches. There was music and occasional fog and lightning effects. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre and extremely overpriced. I had a mocktail (bitter), appetizer (skimpy), and dessert (too small), and my final bill including the tip was about $50. But I got the sense that the staff was working to address issues discussed in previous reviews, and I am hoping that management eventually extends this to the food and prices. Made a reservation for the grand opening for a party of 2, and was told that even though I made a reservation that I wouldn't be able to be seated for upwards of two hours. The restaurant did not seem busy, and the hostess seemed uneducated to why the wait was so long. Why punish the people that took the time to reserve a table? Such a disappointing start to a restaurant that I had hyped up amongst family and friends. UPDATE: We went back after 30 minutes, and the wait was magically gone. We were sat at an awkward spot next to the bar that had little to no "haunted theming". We waited to be helped for 20 minutes, ordered water, which tasted like a dirty sink. We waited another 20 minutes to order (even though there were only three other tables sat in the entire restaurant?), and were listening to staff around us complain about how management was dysfunctional. When it's not Halloween the servers wear black instead of Halloween costumes, although there was a roaming Jack Skellington. Now that it's November the service was fast, friendly and had a fun Christmas/Halloween theme. Food was good and the Ambiance is goofy, spooky, fun. Good kids menu, great place for a kids party. Service was friendly although the digital check with the server standing there is a little awkward. The Men's bathroom has zombies and the Women's bathroom has fairies and dragons. Waiter never said they didn't have Diet Coke and assumed I would want Diet Pepsi. No freaking way!! I then asked for a margarita. He came back and said no margarita mix so I then asked for a n unsweet tea. I asked for Sweet N Low & was brought Splenda. I had to ask again for the pink packet. My brisket flat bread was good. However, no where on the menu does it say it has pickled onions on it. I hate onions & it would have been nice for either the menu to state it or the waiter to say....Are onions ok? Thankfully, it didn't ruin the flatbread and I pulled them ALL off. The ambiance of this place is absolutely amazing. There are murals on every wall and they are very well done. You definitely feel like you are in a haunted castle. The food was less than sub par. We ordered two alcoholic drinks that were extremely watered down. We ordered the crab cakes and there was shell in them. They brought us some Mac and cheese bites free of charge due to this and they were cold and disgusting. I ordered the Haunted Castle Burger and the bun was so hard I could have used it as a hockey puck. My husband ordered the Ribeye with potatoes. The ribeye was so beyond salty and you could not even eat it without the cheese sauce; which we found out at the end of the meal was supposed to be hot and was ice cold the second it hit the table. The potatoes that came with the meal were clearly potato flakes as they didn't taste real. The used a lot of butter and Parmesan cheese to mask the potatoes. The menu stated that this came with steamed broccoli there were literally two pieces of broccoli on the plate. The prices they are charging are not worth it at all. Our meal was $100 and with all the food that was ordered we should be full, yet we are on the way to have another meal somewhere else. Our first clue should have been us being the only ones in the restaurant. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time. Our server was amazing and she was very attentive and made sure to provide all of our feedback to the chef. Unfortunately, I do not think we will be back. $177 for a party of 5, Disney prices in Plano Texas- the food here is worse then Applebees or at any airport restaurant. I think they got so many complaints about food slow out the kitchen that the food was pre prepped, it came out within 5-10 minutes of us ordering it. My daughter hated the beef ragu, the burger my son and I had was reheated and gray colored-- my other son liked his fettuccini Alfredo and my wife liked the tomato soup. I tried to order a pellegrino but our server said that bartender didn't understand what a pellegrino was? Why is it on the menu? Anyway he did a good job and was the only real redeeming part of the experience was the service. The theme is like the other reviews mentioned, it's all over the place-- isn't a castle? A far off land? A dungeon? Y'all the price point for this place is insane- don't even consider it, the food is nowhere near what it's priced. Super fun date night, and great experience restaurant (think Rain Forest Cafe or The Magic Time Machine)! I saw some less-than-positive reviews, but I think that was just them working out the kinks. I would be surprised if this restaurant is still open a year from now. We were there on Sat night around 10:00 pm and it was dead. As most everyone says the atmosphere is fun but the food is awful. My wife ordered a house salad, it came with no dressing. She also ordered the wings, dry as a bone hardly any sauce on them. I had the chicken alfredo and it was probably the worst I've ever had. My son ordered a burger and he stated he could get a better one at Whataburger. Most of the offering are priced around $18 and they taste bad. I came here, after reading the reviews, thinking that this place is probably just new and that people being we're being too harsh but I unfortunately have to join in with the others saying their experience was bad to hopefully, give the owners a jolt so that this place becomes something great. Our whole experience in terms of hospitality and quickness overall was actually pretty good, where it lacked was in the poor training that seemed to be happening. But as of now, there's a lot of growth and they weren't ready to open, not yet. This was a truly disappointing let down for a reservation made days prior for a costume/birthday/halloween event for 11 people. We arrived about 15 min early to allow all of us to be at our 7:30pm reservation on time. We all arrived and early. Host came out at 7:30 and said he needed to get the table ready. We finally we were walked to our table 7:45pm. When we got to the table, he decided to switch out the chairs and then we all stood watching him do that. He finally got us seated. No menus. No service. Nobody came back to the table for about 15 min. When he did come back, we asked for menus and asked if we could order drinks. He muttered something under his breath and appeared annoyed. One of our guests spoke up and said we had been very patient and he was coming off rude and dismissive. He got agitated and implied he wouldn't be the one serving us anyway. Then he stomped off. We sat for another 10 min wondering if anyone was going to come back. I would like to add, we were very courteous and patient. At about 8:30, we all decided to leave the restaurant and go find someplace else to go. As we were leaving, a sweet young lady came rushing over to us very apologetic about how we were treated and offering to serve us. We declined. This place was huge and there were only about 8 cars in the parking lot and only a handful of other tables occupied. Odd, that the experience was this bad. Never even saw a menu or silverware. Our family loves new restaurants especially those with theme or entertainment. Only one of the many staff members appeared to have gotten the message about wearing a "haunted" costume. Most costumes appear to come from Walmart adult size clear bag with not all excessories included. Very cheap. Our waitress was a police officer. The Crab Cake balls were cold in the middle and almost black on the outside. The Flatbread Brisket was cool at best on the bottom and soggy. Obviously all premade and frozen. I could go on about the remaining dishes, but I would be repeating the same experience cold in the middle, rubbery and bland. Not sure where they came up with the advertised price per person at $20-$30 unless you order an appetizers and drink or maybe the hamburger and dessert. My family and I (total of 5) ordered: 2 appetizers, 2 adult beverages and 5 main dishes no dessert for a total bill of $300. P.S. not a fan of the electronic handheld receipt. I like to review my bill in private without having someone hover over me saying," please tap or swipe your card, then add the tip." When we arrived later that day, a man I believe is the owner, greeted us to ask if we had a reservation to which we replied 'No.' He then stated that we needed a reservation and once we explained what happened he claimed that things have changed because they had employees that didn't show up to work. When we asked if we could set a reservation for later in the day he initially declined, but once we pushed back he reluctantly added us to the list even though he clearly didn't want to. First and last time I will ever eat there. First, no host at the host stand, had to wait 10 minutes for a server to come seat us. Second, food is grossly overpriced. My son and I wanted a steak. They had two options, a 10oz New York strip ($23.00) and 12oz Ribeye ($34.00). So we opt for the NY strip cooked medium rare and were informed that they only cook that steak to medium at best. Now if you opt for the more expensive steak, you can get that MR. Saw the server exactly 3 times, once for the order, once for refills, and finally to deliver the check. The food was very bland, no seasoning whatsoever, had to take it home so I could add seasoning and then still have to use steak sauce. Their menu changes "daily" and you have to scan a QR code to see what they have. We ordered off that menu and for appetizers got cheese sticks and calamari. Guess what, they didn't have calamari that was listed on their digital menu and settled for fried pickles. Mind you the appetizers were the best thing that we ate that night. The decor was very cool, but that was the only thing they had going for the restaurant. For a family of four our bill was $173. I have fed the same family of four plus two of their friends with appetizers and desserts at Cheesecake Factory for $200. If you choose to go, I would advise walking in to see the decor and then driving 20 minutes south to go eat at The Magic Time Machine. You will have better food and a much better experience. read more
