Or a buffet that no longer buffets. But pizza is a big part of their menu and a lot of people order it. I can tell you, from sight alone... I wouldn't call it pizza. It's cheese, toppings, and an extremely flat crust that I can only imagine crunches to smithereens. So I went very much with not pizza. Fortunately, the menu goes many other directions. I got a hot chicken sandwich with Cajun fries, basically regular fries with a little seasoning sprinkled on (not baked in). Took a little while to get to us, but once it did, I was impressed with the spice level. This is not for the faint of tongue. The fries were perfectly cooked, but I would say just get plain fries if that's your vibe. I could have upgraded to onion rings or similar, wasn't feeling quite hungry enough for that venture. Verdict: I don't know. It's not a diner. It's not a pizzeria. Definitely seemed kid-friendly. I think my date liked this place more than I did. So again, I'll go with the balance and stick 4 stars on the wall. Could return, not sure what else in Flemington might attract (seems fairly restaurant-barren).

I ordered the tuna poke bowl and it had great flavor. The common theme across everyone's order was that it was massive, everyone took food home. I also ate some fries of others' plate and they were super crunchy and cooked perfectly. I would come again!

RESERVATIONS: Didn't seem like it was necessary unless you have a large party like we did. PARKING: Plenty of free stalls. MENU: About as big, bountiful and similar to The Cheesecake Factory, including sushi. BEVERAGE: Strawberry Mint Lemonade The taste of watermelon was chief. Very refreshing with a good alcohol to mixers ratio. FOOD: French Onion Soup Textbook recipe but there but there was very little broth, which was unfortunately lukewarm and an over abundance of cheese. It was topped with French fried onions that provided pleasurable texture and some added flavor. Tommy's Original Coal Oven Roasted Wings (10 pcs.) An equal mix of drumettes & wingettes, mildly seasoned, nicely roasted & charred in all the right places, topped with cooked onions and a big green pepper. The ranch dressing was definitely needed for a flavor boost. A rarely-offered, healthier alternative to traditional deep-fried wings. Penne Vodka with Chicken The small portion I tried was good, not great. The vodka sauce wasn't as tasty or rich as my benchmark version at Marcos Grill & Deli (Maui). SERVICE: Female server was friendly but there was no follow up. Food & beverage took a while to come out. OVERALL: Conventional place that'll satisfy most folks.

Whoo, boy. What an experience we had at Cryan's. I thought it would be okay to gather a group and…read morehead over for happy hour and dinner. Wasn't sure how many people we'd be, but the place looked big enough. It wasn't. Not for the crowds of people stuffing Cryan's on Saturday night, drinking at the bar, eating at the tables. Clinton doesn't have as many people as Cryan's did that night. Incredible. So we put our party down to a 40-minute wait. Time went on, a few people left, a few drinks happened, and finally the rest of us got a table together. Minus for service - the waitstaff was not very friendly to our group; granted, we were forced to stand due to lack of seating, but they didn't give us any helpful tips or any sympathy. Drinks were just "are you ready?" and then handed out. Food experience went a little bit better. The food itself was fine, mostly because none of us ordered pizza. It's bar pies here - super-thin crust, comes out crispy, which may be your thing but it's not mine. The onion rings look fantastic - huge, but with a lot of breading, and I didn't have enough of an appetite to down that by myself. I ended up on the Baslick Burger, ordered rare, and it actually came out pleasantly close to rare. Other people's came out to their order as well (medium and well, one with a subbed side). Nothing spectacular, but nothing bad. Same for the fries. All in all? It was an experience. But not one to walk into blind. Maybe if I was local I'd go on a low-volume night, otherwise I'll stick to some less crowded vibes.

The Cons: The service was horrific. If we hadn't already purchased tickets (no refunds...) We would have been long gone from there. The owner is totally missing the boat here. Granted the place is in the middle of nowhere but it's got SO much potential. We went for a music event (outside - Artie's "Summer Stage"). While we waited at the inside bar for the event to start (45 minutes late) we tried to get drinks, but couldn't get a drink to save our lives. The place was half empty, and there were two bartenders but they completely ignored us. Like puposely and specifically didn't make eye contact. We waited at the bar for 10-15 minutes without a drink while the bartenders chatted with (I'm asumming) the local regulars, cleaned and checked their phones. Crazy. Once outside the seating (iron tables and chairs) were pretty rusty and really hard. The outside was generally a little rundown, though the stage and the sound system were newer and nice. The outside bartender was more attentive, but the servcie was still bad. BAD bad. Only one bartender at the outside bar was simply not enough. And she had to keep going inside to get supplies, drinks, etc. So if you ordered a wine (my wife...) the bartender would dissapear inside for like five minutes, then come back with a glass of wine. There was a single waitress outside for about 20 tables - drinks and food - also not enough. We easily would have had 2x the drinks and food we had if the service was better. Also we got the same round of drinks each time, but were charged different amounts each round. Random amounts. Not sure I would go back unless it was an event i REALLY wanted to see. I would definitely eat first and not plan on drinking, The experience was was frustrating. Such a shame, this really could be an awesome place.
