Google Review: 1 Star We had a very disappointing experience at Hats Unlimited today. Upon walking in, we weren't greeted at all -- not even a glance from the employee working. When we asked a simple question about the hats, she acted visibly annoyed, as if we were bothering her. Then, during checkout, she didn't say a single word. My husband had to be the one to say thank you -- only then did she say you're welcome, and it felt like she only said that out of obligation, not courtesy. This is a tourist town, and being in retail means showing some level of hospitality. Her attitude was unprofessional and cold. I almost went back in to return the hat purely because of how we were treated. If you're having a bad day, that's understandable, but it's no excuse to treat paying customers this way. To management: Please ensure your staff understands that kindness and basic communication matter -- especially in a town built on tourism. read more

As a hat lover, it's always fun to pop into a Hats Unlimited store. When we were in Solvang several weeks ago, just before shelter in place occurred, I stopped in to see what they had that was new and interesting. Silly as it might sound, I wear a visor sitting at my desk most days, because it cuts the glare coming in through the window. That makes it easier to read the computer screens. Hats Unlimited Carrie's the "No Headache" type of visors. Mine is about to break down, so I looked for a new one, with success. It was quiet when i was in the shop, so the associate helped me find a particular style of hat that I like to wear - packable and posable. When I get to leave the house again, I'll enjoy wearing the one that I found. From sun protection, to whimsical styles, and fashion options, they have a LOT of options to try. This is an updated review. I must admit they do have a wide varieties of hats and that's what attracted people (including me) to step in to take a look. They do have a section of hats specially for occasions and it's pretty cool. The first time I went, I do feel that the hats are kinda pricey but the second time I went, few weeks ago, that's when I walked through the entire shop and was looking at the handmade details of some hats which explains why some of the hats are pricey. In fact, the second time I went, I do see nice and affordable hats at the front of the shop and bought one myself. read more

This place is alright for a tourist trap shop. The place was packed with fedoras and other fancy types of hats, but what peaked my interest were the novelty hats. They had a lot of ridiculous and funny hats like one that looked like a chicken, a head of snakes like Medusa, and even the Green Bay Packers Cheese Head. I'm a sucker for novelty hats and planned on purchasing one, but was upset when one of the employees rudely kicked out my friends because they had ice cream (in a cup) and bottles of water (with a cap) in their hands. I can't say how fantastic the staff are at Hats Unlimited. I did not have the opportunity to go to the store but I ordered a few hats online. From the very beginning the staff were very helpful. I spoke and communicated with Bear for the most part either via email or phone. I had ordered 3 hats and firstly they had sent me pictures of one I had wanted. The quality wasn't up to par and they sent me pictures before shipping it out. They could have easily just mailed me what I ordered but they went that extra mile. I was impressed already. Then my shipment got stolen (FedEx) had left it outside an office building!! Really!! But to make an already long story short, Bear and the team took great care of me and sent me a whole new shipment. They were wonderful and I am really impressed by the great customer service. We bought several hats here a year ago and the store stands by their product. Needed a hat to fit my small noggin and they added cushions to make it fit on the spot. I have a huge head and this place had a bunch of hats that actually looked good on me! I left with a unique straw fedora and a panama hat, all for $65. My other friends also got good deals on a few hats suitable for our road trip down highway one. They had some high quality hats too, one friend got a fancy panama hat for $200. read more

So disapointed today at 11:30 we were in this store the girl at the register was listening to music on her iPhone. My family of six always buys hats on our vacation each year. For many years. Today I bought my hat and like everyone else my son was trying on hats and showing us his finds after a few minutes the sales girl yells at my son and says you are trying on to many hats and moving them around. She was so RUDE and said it so liud it embaressed him. She did not even come to me as his parent he was doing nothing more than any other kid. This is NOT the same place we used to come to. My children and wife were upset because we could not buy our vacation hats like our normal tradition. With that kind treatment we will never do business again with HATS UNLIMITED.
