We had a terrible time here. I went in with my daughter and we tried on some Pendleton sweaters. In a profiling type of manner, we were being watched the whole time. The sweater was $189 and I was more than happy to buy it for her because she had been looking high and low for a horse sweater. Finally this blonde thin lady comes and asks us about the sweater and my daughter said, yeah we are going to take it, meaning buy it and she just ripped it out of my daughters hand and said she would hold it in the front. We wanted to buy some cowboy boots too but were left with a bad taste in our mouths so we left. I ended up finding the same exact sweater at another store for 140 and just bought it there. I went in and bought a new lamb skin jacket. I wore it out of the store. The store closed at 6:00 pm. We were the last patrons there. Approximately 5 minutes after I left the store I realized I had bought a jacket I didn't like. I took it off so nothing would happen to it because I was going to return the next day and buy the jacket I really wanted, the B 1 Bomber jacket that was approximately $109 dollars more. Next morning we went to the store I asked to return it and buy the more expensive jacket. The store manager said it had spots on it. I couldn't find where she said it was wet. I couldn't feel any moisture and neither could my wife. I told her I bought it last night and wanted to return it and buy the more expensive jacket today. She said the tags had been removed and she couldn't sell it for new with the water spots on it that I or my wife could not see. She could not take it as a return. My wife had also picked out another jacket she liked that were we're going to buy. But since we couldn't return the first jacket and upgrade they lost that $120 sale as well. To me, this is not very good business. I am attaching a picture of the jacket because I for the life of me don't see the water spots she is talking about that could have only occurred when I walked across the street from my car to the store to return the jacket. read more

A little disappointed today.I always stop by the shop to get my sandals and a hat or some nice shirts. I found a pair of slides and a pair of olakai shoes that I like but unfortunately. They were too busy recognizing the shirt rack and cutting tags off of the sale shirts than to help me, so I put the items back on the shelf and walked out. Wish I could say my experience this weekend, and my purchases, were as good as in years past - same for the staff in Solvang. Normally of high quality, and professional staff, this was all sub-par. My jacket @ $95.00 has all kinds of seams unfinished, and was full of wrinkles that didn't come out with steaming (though I appreciated the abbreviated effort). 2 of the 3 staff were just not the normal quality and experience I've come to know there in the past. Walking around downtown Solvang, I saw a shoe in the window that caught my eye. I walked into the store and was greeted by several *REALLY* friendly and helpful salespeople. Unfortunately, they did not have my size. The salespeople were nice enough to offer me several other options, while not being pushy at all. The store has a great selection of comfortable shoes, clothes, belts, hats, slippers / flip flops, socks, and all kinds of neat things! Great place to go boot shopping when you're in Solvang. They carry Old Gringo and Rockport brands, two of my favorite boot brands. Staff is very helpful. When you're shopping for cowboy boots, it's insane to order online and try and get a proper fit. So if you're in the mood to pick up a pair, this is a great place to come. read more

Amazing leather jackets and shoes! I fell in complete lust with a brown leather trench that I couldn't leave the store without. The sales people are super nice and low pressure. We tried on lots of shoes and they were more than happy to get different sizes. I would recommend stopping in if your in town. I came across this store a few months ago while visiting family in Solvang. The store has a little bit of everything. I purchased three pairs of comfortable and stylish shoes and they have all been winners. It's really hard for me to find shoes that work for every day wear due to an old foot injury. Pat, the salesperson, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the shoes and other products. I also purchased some gifts including the latest style Giants dress shirt for my husband. What's not to love about Parts Unknown? I live in town and make a point of shopping there first whenever I need clothes - for myself or gifts. The staff is SUPER knowledgeable and always help me pick out the right thing, without being pushy and "salesy". They carry some really nice lines of clothing and whenever I buy something, I know it is well-made and will last. They have a nice selection for women and men, shoes and boots (really - the boots are worth a trip all on their own), accessories, etc. I don't love shopping, I really don't.
