I stopped by the Store because I've been going there since I was a small girl. At one time my brother and I could both fit into the giant clog outside, early 70's! They've always had a great selection and this last visit I walked out with 4 pairs of Ecco, 2 L'Artistes. I get so many compliments when I wear Artiste shoes, they're one of a kind and when I first got introduced to them I bought them at a small boutique shoe store in Long beach CA and then later found them online through Amazon. What a delightful surprise to see Solvang Shoe Store carry the line along with Birkies, Ecco, Dansko, etc. Kelly was very patient with me as I tried on pair after pair. Then Gabriela called me after I returned from my trip to update me on some Birkies I was inquiring about. Great service! It seems like Solvang is a place with unique and specific merchandise stores. They even have a store that sells just shoes. It's a lovely shoe store. Some of the shoes were very unique. I didn't buy any shoes from here, but it was nice to peruse through the aisles. I didn't have any direct interaction with the staff, but they appear to be pleasant and helpful to the other customers. When I am in Solvang again, I'll return here and perhaps leave with a pair of comfy shoes. Btw, they have a wooden shoe right outside their store. Photo opportunity for sure. We had to go check out the clogs here. Inside looks like a normal shoe store in the front but in the back, they had the Cloggery in the back. The store owner was so nice. She assisted us with trying on the clogs. The clogs were actually surprisingly comfortable! They had great arch support! They start at $70-$100. The painted ones were beautiful! I highly recommend trying on the clogs as it is definitely a Solvang experience! read more

The salespeople were very helpful and patient. There were so many styles to choose from. The prices were comparable to most shoe stores.

We were passing through and stopped here to browse. We found two pairs of shoes we liked; however, upon arriving home we noticed the receipt states that this store gives store credit only for returns-NO CASH or CREDIT CARD REFUNDS. In an effort to support small businesses, this spot was small space isle, went in to look for one thing came out with something else. Zero stock of what I wanted, however I did comprise, alternative was also a comfy favorite. Cashier did offer 10% discount which stopped me from walking out, so the value was there. If you are looking for Birkenstock's, Clark's or Jambu's you'll be in the right store. If you want stilettos, Manolo's or Jimmy Choo's don't come looking here and then give a low rating, just saying. The prices are expensive because Birkenstock and Jambu's cost over $100 wherever you go. As old as this store is, I guarantee it was not built on the shoulders of the person who served me the last couple times in. I hate to describe people by age, but I didn't catch their names: the young ladies that work there provided good service...while the older lady was the opposite. She was short, curt, rude & even argumentative. Horrible example to the young people working there. I love the clogs. They have plain wooden clogs, yellow & red in sizes for men ranging all the way down to babies. They even had cute little pairs of clog house slippers. I was so excited to try on the clogs, and couldn't believe how comfortable they were. Of course they sell other brands and shoes, but the clogs were the most exciting product in the store. read more

Pretty tiny shoe store - they're kind of crunchy and have a lot of things like Birkenstocks and Clarks. I bought a pair of Ecco boots from this store a couple years ago. At the time, the store representative encouraged me with the exceptional warranty that comes with these boots. After a couple years of normal use, the stitching came loose. I was passing through and stopped to ask about the warranty. The manager asked if I had them with me. I didn't, so she said to mail them to her ands he would see what she could do about it. I mailed them the day after I got home. It as only a couple days later that the box came back to me. Randomly thinking about buying another pair of birkenstocks and since I'm strolling past a huge clog, of course I decide to come in here. I spot the birks right away, I pull one of the samples off and wonder where the sales people are? Finally after trying on a couple pairs on my own, I see a girl staring off into space obliviously, and I ask if she works there. She does. I tell her what I'm looking for and a minute later she comes back with the sandals I want. She hands them over, I saunter around a bit, seems they need to be a bit bigger. She gets another pair and just kind of drops them from waist high to the floor. "Oops. Heh, there you go." Really? You couldn't hand them to me? Or put them by my feet? Ok..then she says "oh the strap isn't done" So you couldn't fasten them for me while I was trying to put the first pair back in the box? There was absolutely no customer service. So I decided to talk to another associate (a senior woman with glasses) and asked if I could possibly order them and said yes and if there was a problem. I told her what happened and said rudely that her coworker was just trying to to give me options but I didn't buy it. They make you feel unwelcome and that you are bothering them. The staff or at least the young women we have the misfortune of getting as our sales person was very rude. Clearly did not want to be there yesterday morning. Was extremely rude to my 91 year old mother when my mom said oh could you please help me get this shoe on. The sales person responded do you always have help putting on your shoes who helps you at home. For gods sake the stupid little girl that is suppose to be a sales person in a shoe store didn't feel like she had to help someone with shoes. If you want to buy shoes and be treated rudly go to this place otherwise go some where else.
