This review is specifically for Hoka Clifton 9 shoes. When looking up their HQ, Deckers Brand Showcase is the top search result. My Hoka Clifton 9 shoes started literally falling apart after only three months. When I first purchased them, I thought they were the most comfortable shoes I had ever worn. I compared it to walking in a bouncy house. Then after three months, I noticed that all of the rubber in the sole had started to fray, leaving all the edges looking tattered and raggedy. By the fourth month, the traction pads embedded in the poor-quality rubber sole were coming loose and I had to glue them back on. My wife had purchased Hokas as well and her soles were worn completely flat in a matter of months. Apparently, that initial comfort is due to poor quality spongey rubber that has no durability. From Hoka's website: "our one-year warranty covers material/ craftsmanship defects up to one year from the date of purchase. For example, if the tread starts to come away from the outsole or if your waterproof style is letting water in." This turns out to be very misleading. I tried contacting Hoka support about my shoes' poor quality. They want me to mail the shoes to them at my own expense so that they can *decide* whether or not they will honor the warranty. Customers purchasing $150 shoes have a right to expect quality of product and quality of customer care. From Hoka I have received neither. DO NOT BUY! No durability whatsoever! read more

Read this before you go As locals who have been shopping here for years, we are very disappointed. The selection appeared more than was available since most of the shoes we asked for couldn't even be ordered online. The number of employees was insane for the lack of help we received. We had six different people help us during our time as we got bounced around from employee to employee as we were trying on shoes, never with one more than 5 minutes each. We felt like deviled eggs at a party being passed around and no one wanted us. When we did manage to get someone to help us, they moved at the speed of molasses. Whenever we asked a question or asked if they had a shoe in a different size they seemed annoyed and upset with you and one would leave to find the size you asked for and then disappeared. You would not see them again this happened 3 times in 20 minutes. There was a lack of training, since only one employee could help with returns and exchanges. If I was in charge, I would at least train two more employees to do their jobs and fire the rest since it wasn't necessary to need so many people who didn't know how to do anything. Even if they are busier, they didn't have any employees that were willing to go out of the way to talk to you or ask if you needed assistance. They used to offer us coffee and sparkling water when purchasing shoes, now we can barely get someone to get us shoes to try on. read more

Still my go-to for athletic foot wear. And of the many brands they carry I continually go back for Deckers Outdoor, Hoka, Teva and even Ugg. I have very specific work-out-shoe needs, and salesperson Jeremiah was extremely helpful in showing me all the brands that he thought might be helpful. He introduced me to the Deckers X Lab line of athletic shoes, and after trying on several models his recommendation of the Men's X-Scape Sport Low was spot-on. Actually did my first work-out in the new X-Scape, and my feet, legs and back could not have been happier. Nice to have shoe experts like Jeremiah in Goleta. Goleta, CA Decker brands include: Ugg, Ugg Home, Hoka, Sanuk and a few other brands I had not previously heard of. This is not an outlet store. The showcase company store is located in the same parking lot as their Corporate office. The showcase store carries all of the current styles available within each brand. Originally, the showcase store was only opened for employees and investors but is now opened to the public. I arrived 30 minutes prior to closing which I regretted, I needed more time. I came in to look at the HOKA brand but would have looked at others brands if time permitted. The benefit to coming to this store is, no one retail store carries every single style, so it is nice to see the whole line. Upon walking in I was greeted and promptly asked if I would like sparkling or still water. Seriously?!? I asked for sparking and the man brought out the cutest little ice cold glass bottle of San Pellegrino. What a nice way to feel welcomed. I tried on the HOKA brand shoes I came in to look at and found one that could work. I had done some research prior to my visit so I felt the girl was above average knowledgeable but the questions she did not know she asked someone else. I would come here again if in the area. The one star reviews for this store is not an accident and actually totally appropriate and not a hyperbole of any measure. Avoid this store as the black plague. I have worn Asics, Patagonia, Mizuno's and Brooks and love them for trail and city running. My friends in the running group swear by the comfort of their Hoka's and thus I decided on taking a chance on them. As I was visiting my folks for the 4th and they were in the market for new pair of shoes, I decided to take them to the flagship store in SB to have them fitted.The comfort of the shoes is where the good experience ends. This store is a travesty to any customer service whatsoever. The store employee's demeanor and willingness to assist with any queries is a stark contrast to any professional establishment such as REI or foot locker. Despite explaining what was needed (comfortable shoes with ample cushion for long standing due to teaching classes at the university), they offered no suggestions. We thus asked them to provide us with their lightest and softest shoes so that we could do the assessment ourselves as they are incompetent or simply unwilling. Also a fair amount of coaxing and cajoling was required to get them to bring a foot measurement device for actual feet measurements and taking rational approach to finding the right pair. I was shocked on how sub-far an infuriating this experience was especially when compared against my experience at REI while getting my Hiking gear from Merrel. Furthermore, while inquiring about return policies, we were told there is no return policy on worn shoes. Inquiring further, I learnt that there is a return policy on poor manufacturing but that will be assessed and the shoes can only be returned with the physical copy of the receipt. With all the hassles of this store, if I do buy another pair of Hoka it will be through Amazon and certainly not at the SB store. If you do come to the store due to Hoka brand loyalty, just come here to see what style you like and buy your Hoka's elsewhere where customer service and assistance means something. From my perspective and this rather sour experience, I will continue being a patron of Mizuno's and Brooks which are equally comfortable, have excellent products and are sold at stores with tangible customer service. read more

I have been here at least 3x and the staff here is always less than helpful. I have had to request multiple times for someone to help me each time I've been there (have purchased at least one item every time). The sale associates all stand behind the counter and don't greet clients as they're walking in (something you'd expect from a store like this). They all stare and talk to each other and ignore clients. If you're planning to attend - they do have a great selection but don't expect much from the staff. Today, I was finally able to visit Deckers Brand Showcase and boy am I happy I did! Deckers is an amazing local company that does a lot of good for our community. And, during the holiday season, they have this amazing campaign (12 days of Christmas) that supports 12 local nonprofit organizations. They generously donate 40% of daily total sales to the daily featured nonprofit, it's AMAZING! So, today, in support of the Mental Wellness Center, an incredible mental health nonprofit in Santa Barbara, I stopped in to shop. They have EVERYTHING you could ever imagine, and if you're into Uggs, this is an Ugg oasis! They have all the new styles and some exclusive that I have never seen. They carry all the Deckers brands here and have a HUGE selection. I will definitely be back! read more

I have been a local in Goleta/Santa Barbara for most all of my life and I am committed to buying local. I purchased a pair of Hoka running shoes which I love. During a workout the seam split right above the sole. An obvious flaw in construction. I went to the Goleta Deckers store where I purchased them a few days later. I was told that if I had bought them within the last year they would replace the shoes for free. I was able to locate the receipt and it had been 368 days since my purchase. Even though the slit happened within the year the sales person and manager on duty said there was nothing they could do. NOT a happy local customer!!! read more

I bought a pair of Clifton 8's online; they did not fit. Upgraded to Clifton 9 at Deckers showcase/Goleta. After 2 weeks of light wear, the shoes really hurt my feet. Called the store; the policy is return only if they are unworn. The online policy is 30 day return for any reason! Lo & Behold the fine print! I went on Hoka chat to see if I could return them.The rep was barely informative, but gave me a return label. In checking the fine print, "if you are eligible for return (IF) you will be given an online store credit. Who knows how much you might get back due to wear! So no return at the Deckers Goleta store and a BS return online (of which you pay for shipping) then take the chance of a partial refund. I will stick to Brooks & Asics from now on. Both have excellent return policies. The store employees/management are totally unprofessional and unwilling to help. There are about 5-7 of them standing around chatting and act like you are bothering them if you ask for help (and then they point!) No friendliness or helpfulness, just getting back to they little group chat. I imagine if you do manage to get a refund, it's store credit only! read more

So I have had a horrible experience dealing with the Customer service of Teva Shoes and the lack of care for their customers. I had a flip flop, well flop. Tried to have it resolved multiple times over the phone. It took 4 calls to finally receive a email with the link not working to print it. First time I'm saying this, but amazing experience buying shoes. I came here to look at some HOKA running shoes. Immediately there was someone already there to find out what I was looking for and see if I needed any assistance. All the staff members were very friendly and super knowledgeable. I tried on literally every single HOKA shoe in the store, and they were patient and welcoming the entire time. It's crazy to me that they know so much information for all the shoes available. The Brand Showcase is huge and contains shoes from every brand that Deckers owns (UGG, Teva, Sanuk, HOKA, Ahnu). In the end, I decided on a shoe, but they didn't have the color in stock at their store. There was absolutely no pressure to buy on the spot, and they helpfully showed me to their iPads where you can order online. (The shoes were shipped to me same day and got to my house within a day which was awesome). They were able to recommend me a style that would suit my needs for road-to-trail running, and helped find me a color online that I would like to purchase. Bring them up for an exchange." Awesome, new store, with multiple brands! Deckers owns Teva, Uggs, Sanuk, Ahnu, Mozo, Tsubo, Hoka and Simple Shoes! All, except Simple Shoes are on display here. Super helpful staff. My husband bought me a pair of Uggs for Christmas and a button fell off so I brought them back and they replaced them no problem. When my husband was in purchasing my boots, he mentioned to the manager that my pair from 2 years ago had ripped at the seam and they told him to have me bring them in to possibly replace them. I brought those in and the super helpful manager told me he would replace them this once but it wasn't a manufacturer defect. He told me to keep them clean that the salt and sea water can break them down. Pretty ironic considering Uggs were originally designed for the surf culture before they became trendy and fashionable. I've been buying Uggs since the 80's and never had this happen, but hey, they stood by their product and replaced them- I guess I'll keep these ones clean! Thanks Deckers! read more
