You need gravel? How about some concrete pavers? Fine, you only want mulch... makes sense to me,…read moreI've shoveled enough gravel over the past few weeks to remind me over and over again that I am a truly pathetic manual laborer. Regardless, I've sure spent a lot of time here lately, gathering supplies for various home improvement projects. You can pick up your supplies or have them delivered (for a fee). Weekends get busy so it's bests to plan ahead and get your order in early so you can get the delivery time you want! Also, they're not open Sundays so be sure to get what you need for the weekend on Friday/Saturday or you're going to be twiddling your thumbs on Sunday when you run out of something. The delivery trucks can usually hold two different items (i.e., dirt and mulch, gravel and sand) and only a certain amount of weight of each. Again, planning ahead can help you figure out how to be as efficient as possible. You also can pick up your gravel (or whatever you need) if you have a truck, be prepared to drive yourself onto the scale get weighed before and after so they know how much to charge you after a backhoe fills your truck up! We filled our raised bed garden with their 50/50 blend (dirt & compost) and our tomato plants are currently about 5ft high and look like a tomato forest. I'm not sure what's in that stuff but it sure seems to be working! The customer service here is pretty matter of fact, which I appreciate. We were overcharged for one item (cashier seemed to have incorrectly entered our scale weight and we didn't realize it until we got home). When I called later they didn't give me any problem at all, just worked with me to quickly figure out the actual amount of gravel we'd gotten and promptly issued a refund. Overall, the prices seem fair and there are plenty of choices no matter what your project! (landscape, stone, masonry, granite, etc.)

The good: prices are reasonable and they had what we were looking for for our patio project. Also,…read morethey gave us a discount to make up for their first mistake. That leads me to the bad: we went to their yard and found the rock we wanted. We placed an order for the rock that was in that specific bin. They delivered us the wrong rock, apparently because their drivers put the rock we liked in the wrong bin. So they gave us a discount (not free) on a delivery of the right stuff. The delivery driver proceeded to dump the right stuff ON TOP of the wrong stuff while we weren't home. So we had the pleasure of both separating the right grave from the wrong gravel, and had to find a use for the wrong stuff that we partially paid for. Good rock. Poor handling of logistics. Will probably come here as a last resort in the future unfortunately.

A simple door order turned into 6 months of unreturned phone calls, excuses, lies and blaming…read moreeveryone else but themselves. They fired the first guy we dealt with, and everyone else we talked to thereafter was just as incompetent, but with less personality. I understand delays but nobody there had the time to call or update us whenever there was an unexpected delay (which happend 3 times I think, I lost track). The doors sat in their warehouse for a good month after coming in, then after I called to see what was going on we waited another 6 weeks while they figured out how to paint them. Week 7, I heard nothing, so I called again: "Our trucks were 'down', it will be another 1, maybe 2 weeks before they can be painted", so I called on week 3 after hearing nothing, again, and they were finally done! The only person worth receiving the money I spent on the doors is the delivery guy, Bobby, who showed up unexpectidly because Harvey couldn't be bothered with confirming a delivery time. Not only did Bobby wait until I returned home from dropping my kids off at school, but he delivered the doors in the rain. Shout out to Bobby; give that guy a raise. Best part: we had to calculate the correct amount for the paint and paint labor refund for them. They couldn't even figure that out- I'm sure they'll blame that on the guy they fired though like everything else.

I own a house in the Madison area and I had a window crack recently. The window repair companies I…read morecalled said I needed to know the brand of the windows before they could move forward. I found that WBS supplied the materials to build this house and contacted them. Leroy at WBS went above and beyond to help me figure this out. He gathered my information and he stayed in touch with me throughout the lengthy process to get in touch with the rep etc. He even called to let me know that he was on it even though we might be waiting a while. He was always polite and answered all my questions which I appreciated as someone going through this for the first time. If this is how they treat people who don't do direct business with them, then they must take care of of their customers even better.

Well, I'll try to make it short. We bought our home it was only three months old and one window had…read morea gas leak. The window manufacturer came out and fixed it without measuring anything. A few months later 3 windows had gas leaks, so we called the manufacturer again, they said we had to go through the retailer where the windows were bought which is Bliffert. So long story short, three times the windows came in and 3 times they were the wrong size. Of course we had to pay for the installation or the trips for the attempt. Finally the fourth time was the charm. I'm writing this review because Bliffert stepped up and reimbursed us the money we were out for the 3 trips. I don't know who messed up the measurements, honestly I don't care. Thank you Bliffert for the extra effort.

We just finished a pretty large (600k) remodel and chose Chase Lumber to supply everything. We had…read morepreviously used Chase for many years and although there were always some screw-ups, we never got burned as bad as this recent big one. Over $100,000 was spent at Chase and it was an absolute disaster. The salesperson we worked with was named Chase also, and he messed up just every order. The delivery drivers said that lately no one really cares there and they're sick of getting yelled at by all the contractors and so they just don't care at all either. They delivered all our millwork and doors on open flatbed trucks in the rain. Most of them swelled so bad, we returned them. The replacements were delivered on open flatbeds again and it guess what -- it rained again. We had to refuse about half of our deliveries. I'm not even getting to the mis-orders! I have built houses for about 12 years and I have NEVER seen this level of incompetence with a lumber yard or a salesperson. I highly suggest everyone steer clear of this failing mess. Its only a matter of time before they close up-- according to some of their workers.

For the price and services, it is an awesome deal. My only complaint is lakeshore management (the…read morecompany that now owns the place) is not treating or paying the on site manager or service staff properly or giving them a proper budget FOR FIXING THE NUMEROUS POT HOLES THAT ARE THERE YEAR ROUND!! Lakeshore corporate is also very unfair in their site assessments and treatment of the residents. If you happen to not use one of your own vehicles parked in a spot YOU PAY FOR for more than a month, they put a tow sticker on it and threaten to tow it away. The demands on yard upkeep and allowable structures and maintenance that lakshore enforces is often in conflict with what the site managers have already clearly established with residents. You'll see a resident that has been there 30 years or more with a trashed yard and objects laying out in their yard in clear violation of the park rules and they don't get so much as a warning. But a resident who pays rent religiously and keeps their yard cleaner than 90% of the residents gets eviction threats when the Lakeshore corporate jerks show up every few months. For years I've paid rent religiously and followed the rules to the letter. After a series of roof cave-ins in late fall and a total black out in the dead of winter when a neighbor's dog (running around the park in violation of the rules) got under my trailer and destroyed the wiring, I was left destitute. I've been barely keeping the trailer afloat for over three months and hardly able to cover a months rent while paying for expensive fixes just so i don't freeze to death in my own home. THEN lakeshore corporate comes in on an inspection and makes a series of demands on me and my vehicles that are entirely evil and not what I had already agreed upon with the site manager. Punishing residents who actually pay rent, follow the rules, put up with loud criminal neighbors and aren't cooking meth in their trailers aren't the people you should be punishing or threatening. Especially when our vehicles are being damaged and worn down on a daily basis because of open pot holes that you NEVER fix. 14 MONTHS with the same foot deep pot hole in the middle of my street!!!
