The service was very good constantly removing trash and dirty dishes during the evening. They did a very good job keeping drinks full and never hit the bottom of the glass. We have been here 100x or more with wait times averaging less than 2 mins even on busy evenings. They have not made many changes to their atmosphere during the last couple years but it's average. You will be in and out with good service in less than 2 hours. Overall I would recommend Kyushu as must go to place for Habachi.

Hesitantly we decided to eat before we stopped off at Lowe's and headed back to finish. Stay with me here. We were a little dirty. Not filthy. Not like we had mud all over us but dressed in work out clothes. Super casual. We entered and asked for a booth, The hostess took us to the back end of the booth where there were tables filled with other patrons. I wanted a bit more privacy and asked her to sit one booth back. She said no. Not to be deterred I sit down at the booth we wanted and felt most Comfortable. We wanted some privacy and not have people all around us. The request was to literally sit one booth back...this hostess wasn't having it. She literally demanded we sit at her booth of choice. Today, it became a "I'm not moving". She "slams" the menus and walks off. That behavior had to be addressed. I'm a reasonable person but expect a certain level of customer service. After all the price of eating out....isn't cheap these days and We eat here all the time. In fact, I became the DUKE again when checking in today.... #1 patron! I take great pride in the title. I discussed my frustration with the manager. When I asked to speak with her the hostess pointed to a manager sitting at the table vs going and getting her. Rude was an understatement. The manager didn't seem overly concerned. All said, the food was wonderful. The Tuna Tower (we ask for no rice) needed more avocado. The Pan Seared dumplings Devine as usual and of course the crab Rangoon are other worldly. The spicy bad girl roll was tasty. We added cream cheese. My sister gets her usual....every time. Hibachi Filet mignon, fried rice and Ginger Salad. It's her absolute favorite and she enjoyed every bite. I don't think one person should drive the overall review but today's experience was stressful...The food 5 Stars. Consistent. That said the hostess has influence and today's 1 star review is for her an her alone. We also ran into Lencho. Lencho is the absolute best waiter. Sundays though he works on the hibachi grill side. Bummer. His smile would have turned the experience around. He's that good and we love him. This is the second time where We've not experience the best customer service. Kyushu ownership should take note.....Some southern hospitality goes a long way. Look no further than to Lencho!

I had the steak and shrimp, which was absolutely delicious, and my boyfriend got the filet mignon and both were fantastic. Plus, we had so much food left over! I'd give them a 3.5 if I could…read more Hibachi is hibachi and Mr. Hibachi is fairly decent compared to other places. Their portions are really generous and everything was seasoned really well. The noodles were everyone's fave! They fail with the details though. For example, the sugar and sweeteners for tea at our table was very low (like one packet of sugar for the whole table) and all of the condiment holders had obviously not been cleaned from the lunch service. We came at open so that means no one checked to make sure that all items were ready for customers prior to open. Also there was some type of ventilation issue. The smoke from the hibachi lingered and there air in the restaurant was kind of "stale". We also had to ask for little things that should have been standard (ice with our drinks, napkins, etc) and waited a long time to close put out ticket. I think it just depends on the server and chef that you get. The table across from us had great service with no issues from the looks of it. Not sure if I'd call this the best hibachi in DFW. It's a step up from Benihana in terms of quality but I wouldn't go out of my way to try it out.

You order at the counter, sit yourself, & orders are brought to you. The food: -hibachi shrimp - tasty plump juicy shrimp cooked to perfection with vegetables & options to upgrade from steamed rice to noodles or fried rice. -salmon poke - my face, juicy fresh salmon with seaweed, slices of mangoes, crispy toppings, & sauces. The combination of savory, citrusy, & sweetness with a hint of crunch was delicious. -caterpillar roll - good size, definitely enough as a meal by itself, fresh ingredients. -steak hibachi was dry, bland, & way overcooked. Ordered medium rare, came out medium well almost well done. The noodles were nice & soft, but bland, gotta mix it with yum yum sauce. Overall great experience, didn't like tipping at the time we ordered, before the service. To me, tips reflect overall service, can't be determined before you even sit down.

Long time::: I've been stopping through for 20+ years when…read morethe enthusiasm and food draws me. They have changed a bit over the years, all steel table grills now with bar chairs around. Settings for 8-20 with high chairs and groups settled together but somewhat by pairs or groupings. An hour wait line starts almost at opening and allows time to settle in the rather large (50?) bar area for appetizers, sushi rolls and a wide variety of drinks while waiting. (Without waiting for the tables, it has been suggested the bar with sushi, etc is available first come first serve as group seatings and bar/app service cycle through. *The spectacle is well done by the chef, bouncing and spinning food parts and knife work with visual panache. Basic core meal is veggies grilled in shifts, salad and soup, and the different meals are your selection by meat/fish type. Each person gets their selection and are served up when each item is cooked on the sequence. This gives continual feed, not accumulating to pile up a whole plate to eat later. Upcharge for fried rice, but good flavor and inclusions and about double the amount of the white steamed rice. *Emperors Plate has most everything, beef, shrimp, lobster, and the full round of veggies with soup and salad. Quite a good quantity. And a scoop of orange sherbet to finish. *Most meals have enough for some take home pack with bean sprouts, rice, some of the main. *Meals have enough for a couple small appetites to share, or a full meal with an extra plate will get the added soup, salad... with the servings split to smaller quantity for the extra plate. Seems that is done frequently, especially if appetizer or sushi rolls are added on from waiting time or startup at the table. Flavors: several sauces are provided as cooking and as dipping sauce, one garlic tamari(?), and a light ginger dip sauce. There are 2-4 flare up sessions on the grill as start of next portion starts to cook. This removes some of the moisture, gives a surface flavor and texture, as well as burns off the alcohol (brandy?) leaving a bit of caramelized flavor as retained on the grill that is cleared between courses. Thus a flare of fire, and a poof of steam. Seeing these at your own table as well as scattered around the room is impressive. ** Good flavor, good selections, great spectacle, always worth coming back and waiting time. Don't come before another event because this can easily be 2hr+ from arrival to exit, but you are there with the ones you brought for company in the first place. It's worth it. Japanese palace is a place that calls me back sporadically, not as costly as a core steakhouse, but lots more pomp and show. $$$ 20-50pp, additional depending on selections, drinks and apps...

We ordered special sushi without avocado in our orders because our friend is allergic to avocado and the guy brought it out and said no avocado and you could clearly see it had avocado so thankfully we saw it before she put it in her mouth or we would've had to call 911. The food was good. Best part of the night was the drinks for sure.
