Good place to celebrate. A well established facility with a lot of recommendations. We finally made it to the west side for a fun evening. The style is Hibachi, and you get to have dinner with people you have never seen before. All the traditional train horn, banging metal utensils, flipping scrap food, and talented expedition of knife skills. The food was great and had plenty to take home. We had Shrimp Dinner and Japanese Palace Special each of us had a side of fried rice.

Just the beginning.

Its has probably been nearly 20 years since I've been to Japanese Palace, so we thought it was high time for a family outing. They do not take reservations, so plan ahead. With two kids in tow, we showed up right at opening and had no issues getting a table. For those like me who have fond memories of coming to Japanese Palace as a kid, well you'll be happy to know this place hasn't changed one bit. Untouched by time. When so many cherished places and neighborhood staples lost these past few years, I think that's a great thing. I ordered the the Japanese Palace Special, which was probably the exact same thing I ordered in high school. Hard to beat a little of beef, chicken, and shrimp, cooked right in front of you. Of course, you go to a place like Japanese Palace for the show and that was on point as well. We all were pleased with the food and the kiddos thoroughly enjoyed the experience as well, albeit probably much to distracted to eat (yay leftovers!). My favorite is always the fried rice, which we had plenty of. Its nice to see that after all these years, Japanese Palace still providing great food and experiences. We do plan to be back and might even plan ahead and pop into their comfy bar for a Kirin or two before getting started. If you're like me and you can't remember since the last time you've been, its time again.

This is our second time coming here and it is so good! There is plenty of seating on the habachi side of the restaurant. The eggplant is one of our favorite parts of the meal. Both times we have come we have shared the Japanese Palace Special and fried rice. We added an extra order of zucchini, which was perfect but next time we will also add an extra order of eggplant. For our drinks, my husband ordered the hot sake and I ordered the mai tai, they were both delicious. The service was great, the cook was fantastic especially since we were alone at the table. Nothing was skipped out and it was still an enjoyable meal. We can't wait to come back again.

Entry, has fish in it.

1st let me say Im not a fan of the seating. We were not told that a booth option was available if you dont want the hibachi seating. Which neither me nor my husband are fans of sitting at the table with stangers especially on our date nights. So after over hearing that a booth was an option we moved. The food was pretty good but not a lot of options. The chicken fried rice was great and probably enough for 2 or 3 people. I dont think that we will be back.

So, I loved this restaurant when it first opened and I rated it accordingly. We were regulars and…read moreexperienced most of the menu. Then a couple of years ago, the food quality and preparation dropped. Additionally, the service was inconsistent and often chaotic....Hooked was no longer one of our local favs BUT....SO Happy to report that Hooked On Sushi is BACK! I've been 2 times in the last couple of weeks. The first thing I noticed were improvements made to the interior (new booths, new padded chairs, glassware, lighting- looks very nice!) I enjoyed a teriyaki chicken bento box, which included miso soup and salad with delicious sesame ginger dressing. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender sauced perfectly. The teriyaki sauce was house made and is available mild or spicy. The bento box included 2 gyoza, 4 pc. Ca roll, tempura and rice. Today I had sushi (rainbow roll) and spicy tuna hand roll. Fish was super fresh, very tender! New owners committed to great food and great service has put this great place back on our FAVORITE LIST! Thanks, Hooked on Sushi...see you SOON!

Terrible ownership!!!! Do not waste time and money here. Unbelievably new rude attitude and this…read morerestaurant will be an out of business and an afterthought soon enough. Let me start by telling you I have been coming to this sushi restaurant for years. It was on of the go to places when going to Fort Worth shopping. Last month I went and ate lunch and noticed new menu and new people running the business. Got lunch and paid quite a bit more than before and it was so disappointing compared to prior experiences. Had sashimi and it was ok at best and way smaller portions. Noticeably less friendly atmosphere as well. So fast forward to today I was giving it another chance......so I planned. Went in around 12:15 and the owner was on his phone at front counter and asked me how many and I told him just me and he says sit anywhere you like. So the place was completely empty of any customers which based on my prior experiences at this restaurant seemed a bit weird. Anyway I went to restroom and washed my hands before returning to sit down somewhere. As I walked back into the seating area the sushi chef was standing bored behind the bar and I said to him "where in the world is everyone today"..... he didn't really seem to understand what I said so I gently shook my hand to say nothing or nevermind. Well the owner asks "do I need something" in reference to me speaking to the chef I guess and I replied no I was just asking him "where the other customers were today". As I was about to sit down in a booth he looked at me and said "leave please". I was shocked of course and said why he again is clearly agitated and says "leave please". So I walk to the front and before I open the door I'm still sort of in disbelief as to what has just happened so I ask him one more time what had I done and he says " leave" so I walked on out. I am not sure if the owner and one waitress and cook just had a meeting about how poor business is and maybe he is losing money out the gazoo. But, he is not a good person or restaurant owner and I will now be singing a little song the day he goes out of business!!! It will definitely happen.... Just a matter of how bad it can get and how much money it can lose before it does. I only wish there was a way yelp could reset the ratings once new ownership takes over a business, but in the end customers will have a say in the persons future. As a Seinfeld show lover "No sushi for you" and like the Pakistan restaurant episode no future with this business with current owners. Wasabi Sushi was great and I recommend it 1000% over Hooked!!!
